Gyan Prakash, in a notification on Saturday night, said that considering the situation which would cause serious disturbances to the entire peaceful co-existence of the communities and maintenance of public order, ..... suspension/curbing of mobile data services in the territorial jurisdiction of the entire state of Manipur has been ordered."....all mobile service providers are hereby directed to ensure compliance of this order," the notification said.The notification quoting the Manipur Director General of Police said that in Bishnupur district, an incident occurred on Saturday along NH-2 wherein one van was found burning after being set ablaze by some youths.The District Magistrates of Bishnupur and Churachandpur have also imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC for a period of two months across these districts.Police said that several hundred goods-laden trucks carrying essential commodities were stranded in the National Highway-2, which connects Manipur with the rest of the country via Nagaland.Meanwhile, around 30 tribal students were injured in Imphal on Saturday when the police prevented a protest rally leading to a clash between the two sides. Five tribal student leaders were arrested and sent to jail for 15 days.Demanding the release of its arrested leaders, the influential students' body ATSUM has threatened to intensify their stir.The BJP government headed by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh introduced the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Council 6th and 7th amendment bills in the Assembly on Tuesday. However, the ATSUM claimed that these bills are not in line with their demands.The ATSUM has been agitating in the hill districts including Kangpokpi and Senapati for quite some time demanding more power to the tribal autonomous district councils.In August last year, the Hill Area Committee (HAC), comprising MLAs of all the 20 tribal reserved seats of Manipur - recommended the new Autonomous District Council (ADC) Bill to ensure 'equitable development' in the hill districts in the same parameters as in the valley region of the state.—IANS

Imphal: After Kolkata, Imphal would be the second city in eastern India, where mounted police would be introduced for the first time. Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that to preserve the erstwhile princely ruled state's tradition, the mounted police would be introduced for the first time in Imphal city.
"To preserve the tradition of forefathers and to promote Manipuri ponies, we have decided to introduce the mounted police," the Chief Minister said while addressing a function here. Singh said that when the state was under princely rule, Manipuri cavalries played a major role during various wars. The present generation needs to know, follow and preserve the contributions that the forefathers of Manipur did to protect Manipur from outside forces," he stated. The Chief Minister said that in the first phase, 20 mounted police would be introduced in Imphal city to patrol within the city, including the market areas.
A committee headed by Inspector General of Police (Zone-1) Themthing Ngasava has been formed to select the mounted police personnel from among the state police forces who are fond of horse riding. The government is also planning to introduce more mounted police in other police stations so that Manipuri ponies can be promoted, the Chief Minister stated.
In 1840, the mounted police with two sowars (riders) started its journey in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) and turned into a full-fledged unit two years later. Currently, the Kolkata Police have around 70 horses under its command.

New Delhi (The Hawk): According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), a special PMLA court in Imphal has granted their request to seize a moveable property valued at Rs 11.54 lakh that was connected to K. Elizabeth Devi and was determined to have been used to launder money.
"One homestead land measuring 0.16 acres located at Imphal West, along with one under-constructed RCC building inside the said plot of land, have been ordered to be confiscated on a prayer being made under Section 8(7) of PMLA, 2002," the ED continued. "These were valued at Rs 11,54,835 at the time of attachment in 2009."
The ED launched a money laundering investigation against Devi, K. Premjit Singh, and K. Sanajaoba Devi, who were active members of the prohibited extremist organisation People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak, based on the FIR filed by the Manipur Police invoking Sections 121, 21-A of the IPC, for offence of extortion from the public, Sections 17, 20, and 21 of UAPA, and Section 25 of the Arms Act (PREPAK).
According to the ED, the defendants were involved in extortion from the general public and the business community, collecting extortion money under the guise of taxes for the outlawed "PREPAK organisation," and out of the aforementioned "illicit monies," they also bought properties in their names.
"Then, during the course of the inquiry carried out in accordance with PMLA 2002, the proceeds of crime were located and attached. The aforementioned accused individuals had also been declared proclaimed offenders by the Special Court (PMLA), Imphal East, Manipur "ED said.

Guwahati/Imphal (The Hawk): According to officials, Imphal, the capital of Manipur, would be connected to the Indian Railways network by December 2023, making it the fourth capital city in the northeastern area to have a rail link.
The 110 km Jiribam (near Assam)–Imphal railway line has over 90% of its construction completed, according to Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Chief Public Relations Officer Sabyasachi De. The project, which will cost Rs 14,322 crore, is expected to be finished by December 2023.
According to him, the Jiribam-Imphal railway project will require the building of numerous tunnels and bridges in difficult terrain.
48 of the 52 tunnels have already had their construction done, and of the 11 major bridges, the substructure for seven of them and the superstructure for five of them are complete.
Out of 129 small bridges, 110 have had their construction finished.
De claimed that the 141-meter tallest pier railway bridge in the world is also being built as part of this project and is almost finished. Six of the 11 stations along the project's route have already been constructed.
According to the CPRO, the current 10-hour road trip to Imphal from Jiribam will only take 2.5 hours to complete once the railway project is finished.
After it is finished, the railway project will make it easier for the state to get vital supplies more quickly, as well as for local manufacturers to export goods more quickly.
Guwahati, the capital of Assam, which is close to Dispur, the capital of Tripura, Agartala, and Naharlagun, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, which is adjacent to Itanagar, have all joined the rail network.

New Delhi News: The Indian football team clinched the Tri-Nation International Football Tournament trophy after a 2-0 victory against Kyrgyz Republic at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal, Manipur.

A packed Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal, Manipur saw 30,000 supporters turning up in support of the home team in the Tri-Nation decider. The home team started the match on the front foot and after numerous chances, the deadlock was broken in the 38th minute with Sandesh Jhingan turning in Brandon Fernandes' free-kick from close range.

An eventful second half saw both teams giving their best but it was team India skipper Sunil Chhetri who calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 84th minute to seal the win for the Blue Tigers.

Fernandes expressed his gratitude to the fans and backed the team to continue in the same way as the team prepares for the AFC Asian Cup 2023.

"Feeling great here in Imphal, Manipur. The crowd has been amazing. We had only one thing in our minds and that was to win this tournament and win both of the matches and that's what we did. We are very happy and this is a growing step for us, the AFC Asian Cup is coming and we have to continue like this," Fernandes said after the match.

Fernandes, who has been a regular part of the Indian team for the past few years now, spoke about providing the assist for the opening goal.

"When we got the freekick, Chhetri bhai (Sunil Chhetri) and Sandesh (Jhingan) came to me and Sandesh just told me to put the ball in the space and he'll attack it. That's what I did, I tried to put the ball very softly and he made a very good run, so credit to him for finishing," the FC Goa midfielder state.

Meanwhile, Chhetri scored his 85th goal for the Indian team, surpassing legend Ferenc Pusk s. The India captain now sits in fifth place in the all-time international goalscorers' list. Chhetri talked about the importance of the clean sheet and the experience of playing in Manipur.

"I feel good, more importantly for the clean sheet, that was important. We don't get to play for the national team at home and this is the first time we're playing at Manipur, so it's a good feeling to keep two clean sheets," Chhetri said after the match.

Jhingan, who netted his the fifth goal in national team colours, opened up on how much the win meant to the team and thanked the Manipur crowd for the support they provided.

"The win is what matters and we are happy with the win. Being a defender, clean sheets are something that we admire or look forward to more but happy for the team. The effort they put in was top notch and we deserved to win and we've to build on this. We have a busy calendar ahead of us with important games leading up to the AFC Asian Cup so we have to keep building up on that. Thanks to Manipur, the way they turned up is brilliant and we hope that we've given them many reasons to smile and for many years to come and we're really happy for the whole of India," Jhingan stated after the final whistle.

"This is something that me and Brandon (Fernandes) have known for years, this is a very old trick of me, Brandon and Sunil Bhai (Chhetri). The initial plan was to put the ball there and for me to pass it inside for Sunil but it just landed in front of me and I put it inside, it was instinctive but the plan was the ball will come over to me and I'll put it back in for Sunil for a tap in but when it's your day it's your day (laughs)," said Jhingan while talking about the goal he scored.

Akash Mishra was named the Hero of the match against Kyrgyz Republic after his brilliant display on the left flank. The left-back kept the door shut from his side of the defence for the opponents and was lively for the whole of 90 minutes on the left wing. "I think they gave me the award but everybody on the pitch, the boys deserve this award and the boys who came on from the bench, they did a really brilliant job and we were really strong together as a team. Imphal News: At least five people were injured, two of them seriously, when a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off in Manipur's Ukhrul district, police said on Tuesday.

A police official in Imphal said that the blast, triggered by unidentified miscreants, took place between Phungreitang and Viewland area on Monday night injuring five non-Manipuris -- four small traders and a cart puller.

Three injured persons have been admitted to Ukhrul district hospital for medical treatment, while two critically injured persons -- Sanjay Prasad and Mangal Mahaton hailing from Bihar -- were shifted to a hospital in Imphal.

Police are yet to confirm the motive behind the IED blast which also damaged a portion on the road.

Police personnel and Assam Rifles troopers immediately rushed to the spot, around 80 km north of Imphal, and launched a search operation to nab the perpetrators.

However, there has been no arrests so far, nor has any outfit claimed responsibility for the blast. IANS

Imphal: Indian authorities have been erecting barbed wire fencing along the around 400 km India-Myanmar border in Manipur to curb smuggling, infiltration and other border crimes, officials said on Thursday.

Assam Rifles officials said that Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Thursday inspected border fencing in Moreh, 110 km south of Imphal. During the visit, Assam Rifles officers briefed the Governor about the security preparedness along the border to check infiltration, smuggling of various contrabands including drugs and numerous border crimes.

Indian forces are always ready to face any eventuality in view of the prevailing instability and disturbances in Myanmar, they said.

Thanking the officers and jawans posted in the border areas for working round the clock for the safety of the citizens of the country, the Governor said that the cases of drug trafficking, illegal smuggling along the border have decreased significantly due to the strict vigil maintained by the security forces.

She also visited the Assam Rifles Forward Post located in the town where she was briefed by the official of Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) about the progress of the ongoing fencing works along the border.

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai also recently reviewed the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness, and ongoing construction work of the border fence along the India-Myanmar border in Manipur

In view of the intermittent clashes between the Myanmar Army and the resistance group People's Defence Force in Myanmar along the Indian border, the Manipur government has asked the Assam Rifles to step up border vigil and deployed additional security forces in the border villages.

According to security and district administration officials, round-the-clock foot patrolling has been intensified along the international border.

Myanmar's Tatmadaw (military) have often engaged in armed clashes with the civilian forces since February 2021 after the military junta seized power there.

So far, around 5,000 immigrants, including women and children, have fled from conflict-hit Myanmar. The Manipur government has earlier decided to identify those Myanmarese refugees, who have sought asylum in the northeastern state, and keep them at the designated detention centres. IANS

New Delhi: The death toll in the ethnic violence which has engulfed Manipur increased to 54, officials said even as unofficial sources placed the figure at several scores dead and more than 150 injured. Life returned to a wary normalcy in Imphal Valley on Saturday as shops and markets reopened and cars started plying on the roads.
Security presence which has been bolstered by flying in more army troops and central police forces, was clearly visible at all major roads and areas. Roadblocks and cordons have been set up in areas where militant groups had engaged security forces on Friday. Large number of people including students were seen assembled at Imphal airport to try get a flight out of the troubled state. Meanwhile, an Assam Rifles column has been instructed to pick up all Naga students in Imphal from pick up points on Sunday for a trip back to Kohima.
Survivors at various refugee camps set up for victims of the riots which broke out on Wednesday night said several villages have been torched. Nearly 10,000 army, para-military and central police forces have been deployed in the state where rioting broke out after demonstrations were organized by tribals -- including Kukis and Nagas -- on Wednesday against a move to give the majority Meitei community, scheduled tribe status.
Meiteis account for about 53 per cent of the population and live mostly in the Imphal Valley. Tribals, who include Nagas and Kukis, account for another 40 per cent of the population and live mostly in the hill districts which surround the Valley.
Of the 54 officially declared dead, 16 bodies were kept in the morgue of the Churachandpur district hospital while 15 bodies were in Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal East district, officials said.
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences at Lamphel in Imphal West district reported 23 dead, the official said.
&nbsp;Meanwhile, five hill-based militants were killed and two India Reserve Battalion jawans were injured in two separate encounters in Churachandpur district on Friday night, police said.
An encounter took place at Saiton in Churachandpur district between the security forces and the militants in which four militants were gunned down, the police said.
Militants opened fire at security forces at Torbung forcing them to return the fire. In the exchange of fire one militant was killed and two IRB jawans were injured, the police said.
A Defence spokesperson said a total of 13,000 people were rescued and shifted to safe shelters, some in army camps as the army brought Churachandpur, Moreh, Kakching and Kangpokpi districts under its "firm control".
"In the past 12 hours, Imphal East and West districts witnessed sporadic incidents of arson and attempts by inimical elements to establish blockades. However, the situation was controlled by a firm and synergised response," the Defence official said on Friday night.
The bodies were brought from districts such as Imphal East and West, Churachandpur and Bishenpur.
Many people with bullet injuries are also being treated at RIMS and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences.
"Prompt response by Security Forces led to rescuing of civilians of all communities from various minority pockets of areas affected by violence. As a result, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Moreh and Kakching are now under firm control with no major violence reported since yesterday night," the PRO said.
"Total of approximately 13,000 civilians have been rescued and are currently staying in various ad-hoc boarding facilities specifically created for the purpose within Company Operating Bases &amp; Military Garrisons," the defence official said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the situation in Manipur with Chief Minister N Biren Singh and top officials on Friday, even as the Centre dispatched additional security forces and anti-riot vehicles to maintain peace there.
Around 1,000 more central paramilitary personnel with anti-riot vehicles reached Manipur on Friday, sources said. Trains to Manipur have been cancelled with immediate effect on Friday due to the prevailing in the state, a Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) spokesperson said.
Violence first erupted in Torbung area in Churachandpur district during the 'Tribal Solidarity March' organised by the All Tribal Student Union Manipur (ATSUM) on Wednesday to protest the demand of Meiteis for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
The march was organised by tribals after the Manipur High Court asked the state government last month to send a recommendation to the Centre within four weeks on the demand for ST status by the Metei community. During the march in Torbung, an armed mob allegedly attacked people of the Meitei community, leading to retaliatory attacks in the valley districts, which escalated the violence throughout the state, police said.

A police official said that some armed miscreants went to the New Checkon area of Imphal East and threatened the shop owners to close down their shops while torching two houses.
As soon as news of these incidents spread, people of other communities came out and challenged them. The irate mob also beat up one of the miscreants while the others managed to run away. Two of the miscreants were, however, taken into police custody.
Imphal falls across the Imphal East and Imphal West districts, and to control the situation, the district administrations have cut short the curfew relaxation period by three hours in both districts. The Manipur government on Sunday night extended the suspension of internet services till May 26 following reports of arson and attacks and to prevent spreading of rumours and videos, photos, and messages, which might affect the law and order situation in the ethnic-violence hit northeastern state.
It had first suspended mobile internet on May 3 after the state witnessed unprecedented violent clashes in 10 of the 16 districts during and after the 'Tribal Solidarity March' called by the All Tribal Students' Union of Manipur (ATSUM) to oppose the demand for inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribe category.
Amid the shortage of essential items, transport fuel and life-saving drugs, various government and non government facilities have also been badly affected due to the internet suspension across the mountainous state, making life more miserable for the people.
Many organisations including the opposition Congress, and the media have been demanding immediate restoration of internet service in Manipur.
In the recent ethnic violence in Manipur so far 71 people have been killed, 300 people got injured including police personnel, some grievously. Out of 16 districts of the state, 11 districts were affected and out of which 6 were badly impacted. Over 25,000 people were displaced, nearly 1,700 houses were burnt, and more than 200 vehicles had been destroyed.

Fresh Violence In Manipur, Security Tightened Security, Curfew Relaxations Curbed

Imphal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in violence-hit Manipur on Monday night where he is expected stay for three-four days and hold meetings with all the stakeholders to finalise strategies to curb the ethnic violence that has ravaged the northeastern state since May 3.
Top officials in Imphal said that Shah might visit some mixed populated districts, including those along the Myanmar border.
Immediately after his arrival, Shah held a meeting with the council of ministers headed by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and discussed the prevailing situation in Manipur.
Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande and Eastern Command Army chief Lt Gen R.P. Kalita had separately visited the sensitive districts last week and held meetings with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Chief Security Advisor to Manipur Kuldiep Singh, leaders of civil society groups and influential community leaders.
Earlier on Monday, the Chief Minister had reviewed the security situation along with Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai and other top officials.
Except for some minor incidents, no major case of violence was reported from the 11 hill districts on Monday.
The curfew, which was imposed after the ethnic violence first broke out on May 3 in 11 of the 16 districts, continues to remain in place, including in Imphal East and Imphal West.
Meanwhile, the Army, Central paramilitary forces, Manipur Police commandos, and the Rapid Action Force continued combing operations in the Imphal valley and surrounding districts on Monday, an official said.
Around 140 columns of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, comprising around 10,000 troopers, had to be deployed to curb the ethnic violence and bring back normalcy in the northeastern state.
Meanwhile, Nityanand Rai, who has been camping in Manipur since May 25, visited some districts and held a series of meetings with various civil society groups, influential community leaders and common people belonging to different communities.
He told the media in Imphal that the unrest would affect the development and welfare activities in the state.
He added that all grievances, demands, and other issues would be resolved through talks and and people from the different communities must have faith in the government and shun all forms of violence.
Defence sources said that responding to specific information about the presence of some armed miscreants with the intention to carry out attacks on the security forces in the City Convention Centre area in Imphal East district, the Army mobilised its forces on Sunday night to set up multiple mobile vehicle check-posts (MVCP).
A suspicious passenger car was seen approaching one the check-posts on Sunday night with four passengers in it. On being challenged, the miscreants got down from the car and attempted to flee, but they were apprehended.
An INSAS rifle with magazine, 60 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, a Chinese hand grenade and one detonator were recovered from the car.
The miscreants were later handed over to the Police.
Widespread ethnic clashes, which have claimed over 75 lives and injured more than 300 others so far, broke out 11 districts of the state after a 'Tribal Solidarity March' was organised on May 3 to protest against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
The ethnic violence was preceded by agitations and tension over the government's eviction of Kuki villagers from the reserve and protected forest lands.

Imphal: Three persons were killed and four others injured in a gunfight between two armed groups in Manipur's Imphal West district on Monday morning, police said.
The incident happened in Kangchup area of the district, they said.
Those injured were admitted to a hospital in Imphal where their conditions were stated to be stable, police said.
In Kakching district, four people were injured in Serou in an exchange of fire between two groups, they said.

3 Killed In Fresh Violence In Manipur

Imphal: A mob burnt down a warehouse near the Imphal palace grounds on Friday evening and then clashed with personnel of the Manipur's Rapid Action Force (RAF) when the security personnel tried to prevent them.
Police said that the RAF personnel used tear gas shells to disperse the crowd as the mob tried to burn other nearby private properties.
Fire-fighters and RAF jawans rushed to the area and brought the warehouse fire under control and prevented flames from spreading to the adjacent houses.
Meanwhile, supplies of various essentials, including life saving drugs, food grains, transport fuel, baby food, and movement of officials and security forces have been hit in several districts of Manipur due to the blockades of Imphal-Dimapur National Highway (via Nagaland) and other highways.
Various organisations including those of youth and women bodies have been blockading the highways and arterial roads accusing the other community.
Over 4,000 trucks carrying essentials reached different districts of Manipur during the past one week through the Imphal-Jiribam (via southern Assam), which is the only highway that is open for now.
The blocking of vital roads at many areas in both valley and hill districts has become a new challenge for the security forces to move their destinations or to rush to violent prone areas immediately after any incident.
A security official said that due to the blockade and damage to the bridges forced security forces to walk on foot with heavy equipment on their backs.
"These cause delay to movement of the security personnel allowing miscreants to flee after attacking people or properties," the official said.

Imphal: Officials claimed on Saturday that two civilians were hurt as protesters battled with security personnel in Imphal town overnight and attempted to torch the homes of BJP leaders.
Throughout the night, reports of automatic gunfire came in from two different locations in Manipur: Kwakta, in the Bishnupur district, and Kangvai, in the Churachandpur district.
The Iringbam police station in Imphal West was also a target of a looting attempt. There were no stolen firearms, though.
To prevent rioters from congregating in the state capital, the Army, the Assam Rifles, and the Manipur Rapid Action Force marched together until midnight.
Around a thousand people gathered in an attempt to torch nearby structures to the palace.
The gathering was dispersed by RAF tear gas and rubber bullet fire.
Another crowd attempted arson on the home of MLA Biswajeet. However, the RAF column successfully dispersed the gathering.
After midnight, another mob stormed the BJP office in Sinjemai, but an Army column quickly dispersed them.
At about the same time, a mob attempted to damage Sharda Devi's house in Porampet in Imphal, who is the president of the BJP (women's) wing. Police were able to scatter the young people.—Inputs from Agencies

Imphal: Three people were injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) placed in a vehicle exploded at Kwakta in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Wednesday, officials said.
The injured were shifted to Bishnupur district hospital and one of them is said to be critical.
Additional security forces have been deployed in the area following the incident, a police official said in Imphal.
On the day, security forces dismantled a bunker reportedly used by militants in Leimakhong area of Imphal West district.
Intermittent firings between the rival militant outfits were also reported from two places in Manipur's Imphal East and Imphal West districts. However, there was no report of death or injury in these firing incidents.
Meanwhile, the Army, Assam Rifles and various other central and state security forces have been continuing combing operations in different parts of the state.Search operations were also conducted to recover the arms and ammunition from miscreants and arrest those involved in violence.
As many as six students organisations in Manipur have decided to boycott the nine MLAs who submitted a memorandum to Prime minister Narendra Modi pointing to a complete breakdown of law and order in the state.
The students bodies, which include the All Manipur Students Union, Manipur Students Federation, Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur, and Kangleipak Students Association, have miffed that the nine MLAs in their memorandum have stated people have lost faith in the state government and the administration.
They said that it is not the time for leaders to take political advantage of the situation.
Eight BJP MLAs and an independent legislator submitted a five-point memorandum to Prime Minister Modi last week, claiming that people have no trust and confidence in the government and the administration.

Imphal: Congressman Rahul Gandhi met villagers in Churachandpur, Manipur, who had been displaced by ethnic turmoil on Thursday. He arrived by helicopter, hours behind schedule, because the state police had stopped his convoy of vehicles midway out of fear of violence.
Gandhi visited a refugee camp and spoke with the people living there.
Approximately 20 kilometres outside of Imphal, in Bishnupur, police halted the Congress leader's convoy out of an abundance of caution due to possible attacks on it.
To get to Churachandpur, Rahul Gandhi used a helicopter provided by the state government. A source at the airport revealed that he was accompanied by "top police and administration officials" aboard the chopper.
Demonstrators at Bishnupur, some of whom supported him continuing on to Churanchandpur and some of whom did not, were met with tear gas by local police.
Many ladies, among Gandhi's many other female admirers, marched to the streets of Bishnupur to urge that he be permitted to travel to Churachandpur.

Imphal: Security forces, which continued their search operation to recover the looted arms since May, on Saturday found 16 sophisticated weapons, 70 ammunition and 16 explosives in Manipur's Imphal-East, Imphal-West and Kangpokpi districts, police said.
A police official said that besides search operations for the looted arms in both valley and hill areas, checking of vehicles continued across the violence hit state.
A total of 127 checkpoints were set up in different districts of Manipur to check the movement of vehicles and inimical elements while 2257 persons were detained in connection with violations of various laws and government instructions in different districts of the state.
