New Delhi (The Hawk): On Thursday night, a large fire broke out in the Bhagirath Palace market in old Delhi. According to sources, 35 fire trucks from the Fire Department are battling the blaze at the wholesale market for electrical items.
A call of a store fire was received at around 9.20 p.m., according to Delhi Fire Service (DFS) Director Atul Garg.
"The shop number 1868, which is close to a gurudwara in Bhagirath Palace Market, caught fire. No casualty has been reported, despite the fact that 35 fire tenders have already been dispatched to the scene, he said.
Around 20 shops were damaged by the fire, which then spread to additional stores. Firefighters are attempting to prevent the fire from spreading any further.
According to a fire official, the neighborhood's tiny streets make it difficult for fire trucks to get to the scene of the event.

New Delhi News: A bus carrying about 50 passengers overturned near the Rajokri flyover in Delhi on Wednesday, an official said, adding two persons were injured in the accident.

Director of the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the incident occurred at around 7.05 a.m., following which three fire tenders were immediately pressed into service.

Garg said the bus was coming from Ajmer.

"At the accident site, rescue teams found two passengers, a woman and a child, had sustained injuries in the accident. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical assistance. The exact nature and severity of their injuries are yet to be ascertained," said Garg.

The accident has led significant traffic disruptions in the area, with authorities working to clear the wreckage and investigate the cause of the inicent.

The Delhi Police have requested commuters to avoid the area until further notice. IANS

New Delhi: A massive blaze erupted at the Base Hospital in the Delhi Cantonment area on Tuesday, said a fire department official.

The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received a call regarding the blaze was received at around 3.50 a.m., following which five fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

"The fire had started in the ICU ward near oxygen store and plant on the ground floor. No casuality has been reported so far," said a senior DFS official.

"Most dreaded things in fire incidents ,for firemen, are cylinder blasts, but team DFS has always taken risks to protect lives &amp; property the citizens of Delhi. A fire in Base Hosptial, Cantt, was received, 5 fire unit were rushed to the site, team fought in the presence of cylinder," DFS chief Atul Garg said in a tweet.

The fire department is still working on cooling down process. IANS

Fire breaks out at godown in Delhi

New Delhi: A fire broke out at a coach of a vacant passenger train standing at the Patel Nagar railway station in central Delhi on Tuesday afternoon, a fire official said.
A call was received at 1.33 pm and five fire tenders were pressed into service, the official said, adding no one was injured.  A Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official said the dousing operation managed to control the blaze at 2.25 pm.
The burnt coach was a part of a passenger train of Sirsa Express, a police officer said, adding it was standing at platform number 3.  All the bogies were vacant during the time of the incident, the officer said.  The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit, he added.
