New Dehli (The Hawk): Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Anurag Thakur met virtually with Haryana Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal at the Organizing and Coordinating Committee meeting of Khelo India Youth Games 2021, to review the preparedness of the State in organising the upcoming games, scheduled from 4th-13th&nbsp;June. Shri Sardar Sandeep Singh, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Govt of Haryana, was also present along with other officials from the State and the Sports Authority of India in the meeting.The Games, to take place for the U-18 age category, will be held in Shahbad, Ambala, Chandigarh and Delhi apart from Panchkula. Around 8500 players will participate in these games. It will feature a total of 25 sports, including 5 indigenous games of India. Laying out a detailed information plan to the Union Sports Minister, Shri Manohar Lal mentioned that preparations are up and running for the smooth conduct of the Games.Better infrastructure ready for sportsThe Chief Minister said that on May 8, a mascot and logo of Khelo India Youth Games would be launched at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula. For this, extensive preparations have been completed. He said that 2-3 multipurpose halls, synthetic track, athletic track have been constructed for sports. Apart from this, the work of auditorium in Badminton Hall, Government Women's College, Sector 14, Panchkula has also been completed. He said that the construction work of Hockey Stadium Panchkula and Shahbad has also been almost completed. Shri Manohar Lal also mentioned that the all-weather swimming pool has been completed in Ambala.Sports competitions will be resonating with Haryanvi cultureThe Chief Minister said that cultural programs full of Haryanvi culture would be organized in these games and during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the story of innumerable heroes of freedom struggle and introduction of excellent players of the state would be shown in the exhibition so that the young generation could take inspiration from them. Chandigarh: While wishing the country and the people of Haryana on the country's 75th Independence Day, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said today is a proud and happy day for every Indian.
"The Tricolour flying high on the top of every house has certainly painted the entire country in the colours of patriotism. The people of Haryana have also raised the pride of 'Maa Bharti' by proudly hoisting the Tricolour atop 60 lakh houses," Khattar said while addressing the people after hoisting the flag at Virbhoomi Samalkha in Panipat.
"On this national festival, along with celebrating the achievements, Independence Day also calls for doing self-analysis as this day gives us an opportunity to think as to what we have achieved in the last 75 years. No doubt the nation has made remarkable progress after Independence and today India's mettle recognized on the global stage," he said.
The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort gave 'Panch Pran', including moving forward with bigger resolves of developed India, erase all traces of servitude, take pride in the legacy, the strength of unity and the duties of citizens, and from today only Haryana also pledged to assimilate these 'Panch Pran'.
Khattar also called upon every Haryanvi to take a pledge to accomplish the 'Panch Pran' given by Prime Minister and ensure their pivotal contribution towards transforming India into a potential superpower of the world.
"While following our great cultural traditions and high moral values, we have to work unitedly to make the country and the state 'Swachh, Swastha and Khushal'," said the Chief Minister.
Every 10th soldier in the country's army is from Haryana, he said.
"We are proud that on May 10, 1857, the uprising of the country's first freedom struggle movement is sparked from Ambala. Our brave soldiers have played a significant role in protecting the borders of the country even after Independence. Today every 10th soldier in the Indian Army is from Haryana," said Khattar, while highlighting the pivotal contributions of the state in the country's armed forces.
The Chief Minister said the soldiers of Haryana have set a new example of valour during the foreign invasions of 1962, 1965 and 1971 and during Kargil War.
"A Shaheedi Smarak equipped with modern techniques is being built in Ambala Cantonment to remember the martyrs of India's first freedom struggle. Besides, another Shaheed Smarak in the memory of great freedom fighter Rao Tula Ram will soon be constructed in Nasibpur village in Mahendragarh district. Also, the state government will be constructing one more Shaheed Smarak in Rohnat, a martyr village of Bhiwani district. Rohnat Freedom Trust has been established in this village," he said.
The Chief Minister said along with providing a safe environment for women, the state government is committed to financially and socially empowering every daughter of Haryana.
"We have given 50 per cent representation to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions. To empower women, more than 51,000 self-help groups have been formed. The functioning of 151 Vita sales centres in the state has been allotted to women. Under the 'One Block One Canteen' scheme, 100 canteens are being run by self-help groups. After getting computer training, about 2,000 women are working as bank facilitators."
In addition, women are running about 892 community service centres, he said.
In all the ration depots that will be allotted in the future, 33 per cent quota will be given to women. The state's gender ratio has also improved, added the Chief Minister.&nbsp;

Chandigarh: The family of Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat, who died under mysterious circumstances in Goa, have met Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and sought a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her death. Her daughter Yashodhara appealed to the public to respect the privacy of the aggrieved family and not to project her slain mother in a bad light. The family met the Chief Minister at his residence late Saturday. The Chief Minister assured all possible help to the family of Phogat. He assured them that he had already spoken to the Goa Chief Minister about the incident, a senior official in the Chief Minister's Office told IANS on Sunday
"The Chief Minister assured them that the Haryana government will write a letter to the Goa government about the CBI inquiry," he added. After meeting the Chief Minister, an emotional Yashodhara appealed to the media not to portray her mother in bad taste. She demanded that those responsible for her mother's death be brought to justice. Earlier, the victim's brother Rinku Dhaka said the motive behind the murder could be property and money. But he said his family is "satisfied" with the police investigation into her death in Goa. "After I reached Goa on August 23, I called up Sudhir to understand what happened. He told me that he was in the hotel room and the body was in the Goa Medical College," Dhaka told the media.
"If you want to see the body, go there and if you have any work with me, meet me in the hotel. After seeing the body, I went to the police station following which Inspector Desai accompanied me to the hotel where Sudhir was staying. The inspector did all the talking with him." The actress was taken to Goa on the pretext of a film shoot. "I didn't see any actors or film shoots. There was no one apart from Sudhir and Sukhwinder Singh." Dhaka was categorically clear in saying that the motive behind the murder could be property and money. He even blamed Sudhir for the theft in Sonali's house. Last year TikTok star Phogat had reported theft of jewellery, a licenced revolver, Rs 10 lakh cash and valuables from her house in Hisar town. Sonali's brother-in-law, Kuldeep Phogat, said she was given poison and was locked in a washroom. "They hit her and there are bruises." The last rites of Sonali were held on Friday even as a large number of people turned up to pay their last respects. Phogat, who had landed in a controversy for allegedly beating up an official with her slipper, had unsuccessfully contested the 2019 Assembly elections from Mandi Adampur, losing to Congress candidate Kuldeep Bishnoi, the son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal. Bishnoi this month joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with his wife, Renuka, who was also in the Congress. The Goa police have so far arrested four persons in connection with her murder. A court in Goa on Saturday granted a 10-day police custody of Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh.

Faridabad: After inaugurating an NIT Faridabad bus stand equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said the bus stands in the state will be known as bus ports.
 He also announced to name of this bus port, the state's first, designed on public-private partnership (PPP) mode after the name of Dr Mangal Sen, stalwart BJP leader. 
Spread over four acres, the bus port has been constructed at an outlay of Rs 130 crore.  Now new bus ports will be built in Ballabhgarh, Sonipat and Karnal as well as two bus ports in the Gurugram district on the PPP mode.
The Chief Minister said Haryana's transport service is one of the best in the country. The state government is committed to providing safe, secure, economical and reliable transport facilities to commuters. He said the state government is already providing better transportation services to passengers across the state. Various bus stands are being renovated with better infrastructure and with state-of-the-art facilities on similar lines to the airport. Congratulating the residents of NIT Faridabad area, the Chief Minister said in the year 1980 he started his social life in Faridabad. At that time there was a lack of good transport services. Understanding the problem of the common man, he then apprised former Deputy Chief Minister Mangal Sen about the situation of the NIT bus stand and today the dream of renovating this bus stand with state-of-the-art facilities has come true, said the Chief Minister. As a gesture of tribute to him, from today this newly constructed bus port will be known as Dr Mangal Sen bus port, NIT Faridabad, he said.&nbsp;
He said the bus port of Faridabad NIT would be connected through the Integrated Consolidated Command Centre. Along with this, the passengers will be able to avail of facilities like online ticket booking and the current status of the bus. Besides catering to the needs of the people of the nearby villages, this bus port will also benefit the commuters travelling to and from the cities of Delhi, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. He said the state transport is effectively fulfilling its responsibility of providing safe travel. In earlier years, when more than 200 accidents were reported because of roadways buses, last year only 79 road accidents were reported. He said along with curbing road accidents, now the profit per kilometre of roadways has increased from Rs 27.5 to Rs 39 per km.&nbsp;

Nasir (25 years old) and Junaid alias Juna (35 years old), both from the Ghatmeeka village in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, were reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday, and their burnt remains were discovered in a burned-out vehicle in the Loharu area of the Bhiwani district of Haryana on Thursday morning. Five individuals with ties to the Bajrang Dal have been arrested in connection with this case in Rajasthan.

New Delhi: Launching a strong attack on Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's government in Haryana over violence in several districts of the state, former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati stated that “law and order situation has completely collapsed like in Manipur."&nbsp;
"Such communal incidents are unfortunate. The law and order situation in Haryana has completely collapsed much like in Manipur. Along with that, the state's intelligence system has also failed, which is unfortunate and worrisome," the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo said.
Talking to reporters in Delhi, the BSP chief said, "In Haryana, the incitement of riots and its spread into parts of Gurugram without any constraint, triggering of violence and huge loss of public property and religious places prove the failure of law and order in Haryana just like Manipur."&nbsp;
Violence had broken out between two groups on July 31 in Haryana's Nuh district, on Monday in Nuh that claimed the lives of six people including two Home Guards.
Following this, the security in the districts adjoining Nuh -- Faridabad, Palwal, and Gurugram-- were strengthened.&nbsp;
On Tuesday, fresh violence was reported from several other districts in Haryana. There was instances of violence in Gurugram’s Badshahpur and on Sohna road. Haryana Chief Minister Khattar on Wednesday said that total of 116 people have been arrested in connection with the Nuh violence. "Six people including two Home Guards and four civilians have died in the incident. 116 people have been arrested till now. They have been taken on remand. Those found guilty will not be spared. We are committed to the safety of the public,” Khattar said.
“The overall situation in the state is normal. Appeal to the public to maintain peace, calm and brotherhood," the Haryana chief minister said. A total of 20 paramilitary forces and 30 Haryana Police units have been deployed in the State, he said.
“14 units were sent to Nuh, three to Palwal, two to Faridabad and one to Gurugram. At present, the situation is normal in Nuh and surrounding areas, security agencies have been put on alert mode,” CM said.
Section 144 has been imposed for 48 hours from Monday midnight in Nuh and mobile internet services have been temporarily suspended in the district.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Varun Dahiya (Crime), Gurugram said today, "All schools, colleges and workplaces are functioning normally. There are no restrictions on the movement of traffic. The internet is also operational. I appeal to all to not pay heed to rumours on social media. If anyone wants to report any information, they can reach helpline number '112'.”
Haryana Deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, however, said that the violence in Nuh district could have been avoided if organisers of the yatra had given complete information about the yatra to the district administration.
“Strict action will be taken against those found responsible,” said Chautala, leader of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) on the incidents of violence in the state.
Deputy Commissioner Gurugram, Nishant Yadav, on Tuesday said that situation was totally under control and normalcy has been restored and markets have opened.
"In Gurugram, the situation is totally under control, Sohna was our main focus area, a peace committee meeting has taken place there, normalcy restored and markets have opened. We have conducted a flag march as well," the Deputy Commissioner Yadav said.
He further said, "In Gurugram one death was reported in Sector 57 mosque, 5 vehicles were torched in Sohna and two to three shops have been vandalised."&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mumbai: Actor Sahil Khattar, whose streaming show 'Bajao' released on Friday, has shared that his character in the show is a mixture of brain and brawn, someone who is highly intelligent and has low patience.
For his role in the series, Sahil underwent physical transformation. Talking about his part in the series, the actor said: "I am playing Dhaari Punia in ‘Bajao’. He is this Haryanvi guy who is very robust and a mixture of brain and brawn. He is the one who brings in all jugaad and plans for everybody to get out of problems. I am originally from Panchkula which is next to Chandigarh. When I represented India in this sport called Roller Hockey, we had a lot of guys from places like Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Hisar and Karnal.”
He further mentioned: “So whilst spending time with them I learnt a lot about the Haryanvi dialect. I always had this thing in me. And I believe in every actor there lies an Aamir Khan, so for my need for perfection I actually underwent a workshop and I figured out how much dialect needs to be used where all. So we have gone ahead with only 10 to 20 per cent of the accent and not just that, I watched a lot of shows, films etc and did my research just to get the accent perfect.”
“These aspiring guys in Haryana have this very peculiar body language, so we have tried to achieve things to this level. Guys from Haryana are very quirky and they have a very dry humour, so we have tried to inculcate this too,” he concluded.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday attacked Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, saying the people of Delhi and Punjab were happy with the AAP government and its freebies and soon the people of Haryana will also be benefited by them.  Haryana CM Khattar had said that a lot of parties talk about giving freebies, but his government was honing the skills of people for their development.
"Many parties often chant slogans like "Give it for free, take this for free". Instead of developing a habit of giving for free, our government's priority is to fulfill the needs of the working individual and nurture their skills to promote their development," Khattar posted on X.  Kejriwal responded to this quote of Khattar on X and said soon AAP will start benefiting the people of Haryana.  "Mr Khattar, we provide free and world-class education, free healthcare, and 24-hour electricity and water supply in Delhi. We have also initiated these services in Punjab, and the public is very pleased with these facilities. Soon, the people of Haryana will also benefit from these services," Kejriwal posted on X.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kerjiwal on Sunday engaged in a war of words with his Haryana counterpart, Manohar Lal Khattar over the issue of freebies on X, formerly Twitter.&nbsp;
Khattar criticised Kejriwal on X, over the freebies matter, while responding to an earlier post of the Delhi Chief Minister.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Khattar also commented on his ministers, suggesting that they could potentially face consequences, (indicating legal cases).&nbsp;
Kejriwal promptly replied, stating that his party was providing free services to the public using taxpayers' money.&nbsp;
"We provide free services to the public using taxpayers' money. It's essential for you to be concerned about this, Mr. Khattar, because it seems like in your party, there's a trend of misusing public funds for the benefit of your close associates," Kejriwal posted on X.&nbsp;
"And regarding the ministers, I've heard that you're trying hard to cover up one minister's wrongdoings. What's the reason that the entire BJP seems to rally behind individuals involved in misconduct towards women?" Kejriwal replied to Khattar on X.&nbsp;
Earlier on Sunday, both had engaged in a war of words on Twitter that continued till late evening.&nbsp;

Kejriwal, Khattar spar over freebies issue on social media 

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday took a jibe at his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal over freebie politics by saying, “he used the public money to help whoever needs it”.
Khattar’s reaction came a day after Kejriwal said the BJP gave undue benefits to certain corporate.
“I use public money for the needs of the needy people and for the works needed by the public. We help whoever needs it,” Khattar said in a post on X.&nbsp;
“I also give facilities to the people and also respect their self-respect. By calling public money as free and thinking it as free, I neither distribute nor spend it on myself like AAP,” he wrote.
“You stay engaged on Twitter/X, I have to do more works of public interest,” added Khattar.&nbsp;

Chandigarh (Haryana): Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday resigned at the state Chief Minister hours after the BJP alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) likely to be broke. The JJP led by Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala had 10 MLAs in the Haryana Assembly. Manohar Lal Khattar submitted his resignation letter to Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.
Visuals showed Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar reaching Haryana Niwas along with few senionr MLAs in Chandigarh on Tuesday. After leaving Raj Bhavan senior BJP Leader Kanwar Pal Gujjar said "CM and the cabinet ministers have resigned and the Governor has accepted the resignations." On being asked who will be the next Chief Minister Gujjar said " The CM will continues to be the CM."

The legislative meeting of the party is likely to be held later in the day in which 41 MLAs of BJP will be present. Senior BJP leaders including Tarun Chugh, Union minister Arjun Munda and BJP's Haryana in-charge Biplab Kumar Deb will also attend the meeting. The BJP leaders are also expected to meet the 5 independent MLAs and Gopal Kanda of the Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) who are in support of the BJP government in Haryana. In the 90-member Haryana Assembly, the BJP has 41 MLAs. It also enjoys the support of 5 independent MLAs and the HLP MLA Gopal Kanda. Earlier, after meeting Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Independent MLA Nayan Pal Rawat on Tuesday claimed that the BJP-JJP alliance was at break point but some independent MLAs who support the ML Khattar government will ensure its survival. "I met the Chief Minister yesterday. We have already extended our support to CM Manohar Lal-led government. We also discussed the strategy for the Lok Sabha elections. I got the impression that the process of breaking the alliance with JJP has already started," Haryana Independent MLA Nayan Rawat said on Tuesday after his meeting with the Chief Minister Nayan Pal Rawat was elected to the Haryana Legislative Assembly from Prithla in the 2019 Haryana Legislative Assembly election as a member and Independent candidate. Another independent MLA Dharampal Gonder said that the independent MLA were already supporting the BJP led government.

 Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) MLA Gopal Kanda claimed that the alliance between the BJP and the JJP was at break point but the BJP can win all 10 Lok Sabha seats from the state on its own. He also said that there would be another meeting with the Chief Minister after which future course of action will be determined. Sirsa MLA and President-Haryana Lokhit Party, Gopal Kanda said, "...I think the alliance (BJP-JJP) has almost broken. In Lok Sabha elections, BJP will win all 10 seats. Even without JJP, the Haryana government will stay, and all independent candidates will continue to support BJP." On March 10 trouble in the BJP Haryana unit was flagged when Brijendra Singh, the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Haryana's Hisar joined the Congress after resigning from the ruling party. Earlier in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won all 10 parliamentary seats while JJP, which had contested the elections in alliance with AAP, could not put up a fight on 7 seats it contested. The Lok Sabha polls are expected to be held sometime between April and May this year.

Chandigarh: Amid speculation that he may contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Karnal, former Haryana chief minister M L Khattar on Wednesday announced that he was resigning as a member of the state Assembly.
Khattar, who represented the Karnal seat, said newly appointed Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will take care of the constituency.  The former chief minister made the announcement soon after the Nayab Saini government won the trust vote in the Assembly. Saini replaced Khattar as Haryana's Chief Minister on Tuesday.  "During the past nine-and-a-half years, I have served as the Leader of the House. I will serve the people of Haryana till my last breath," Khattar said.
