New Delhi (The Hawk): Ministry of Tourism has initiated establishing ‘YUVA Tourism Clubs’ as&nbsp;part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations. The vision of YUVA Tourism Clubs is to nurture and develop young ambassadors of Indian tourism who would become aware of tourism possibilities in India, appreciate our rich cultural heritage and develop an interest and passion for tourism. These young ambassadors would be catalysts for promoting tourism in India. Participation in Tourism Clubs is also expected to facilitate development of soft skills like teamwork, management, leadership besides encouraging adoption of responsible tourism practices and concern for sustainable tourism.Central Board of Secondary Education has come forward to support the initiative of Ministry of Tourism and issued instructions to all CBSE affiliated schools regarding formation of Yuva Tourism Clubs.Speaking on this, Union Tourism Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy said that youth are the best Ambassadors of India and its rich cultural, spiritual and natural heritage. The Yuva Tourism clubs that are being set up in various schools will promote national integration and build on the Prime Minister's vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha&nbsp;Bharat.&nbsp;Shri Reddy further added that students will now be aware of domestic destinations and equipped with the tools to promote the tourism sector. The tourism clubs help children to be more aware about their states and neighborhood along with the cultural aspects. This further builds on the clarion call of Dekho Apna Desh by the Prime Minister.The young members of these clubs would gain exposure to the rich diversity of India, and its civilizational values, it would enhance their sense of belonging towards the nation. On the other hand, as the youth become tourist ambassadors, India will become the favoured tourist destination of the world which will then have a cascading impact on our economy.The Ministry of Tourism has shared a ‘Handbook for Schools for conduct of Tourism Clubs’. The Handbook reiterates the purposes, operational strategies along with specific guidelines and suggestions for conduct of various activities. The proposed sample of activities is suggestive and the teachers and schools are encouraged to incorporate allied activities under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme like excursion, online or e-tourism, pen pals in the paired State/UT, learning the language of the paired State/UT, having exposure to the diversity, natural resources and rich heritage of India.YUVA Tourism Clubs would also enable learners to appreciate the importance of travel and tourism, ignite a passion for tourism and its value in learners, sensitize learners to various elements of travel, encourage, teach and propagate responsible tourism practices, improve physical &amp; mental health through exploratory, adventure and sports tourism and spread awareness about tourism opportunities at an early stage and encourage learners to be skilled professionals and entrepreneurs in the hospitality and tourism sector.

New Delhi: &nbsp;Senior bureaucrat Nidhi Chibber has been appointed as the chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) as part of a senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre on Friday.Chibber, a 1994 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, is currently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries.She has been appointed as chairperson of the CBSE in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the government of India, an order issued by the Personnel Ministry said.Vivek Kumar Dewangen, a 1993 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, has been named Chairman and Managing Director, REC Ltd., Ministry of Power.He is currently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power.S Gopalakrishnan, Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare.A total of 17 joint secretary and Additional Secretary-level officers have been appointed to different posts in the central government departments and organisations in Friday's reshuffle.—PTI

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government would constitute a committee to fix the minimum age for admission in madrasas on the lines of various education boards like the CBSE and ICSE, Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Azad Ansari has said.He said it has come to notice that many times parents and guardians admit their wards late in madrasas, and that the government wants to put an end to this practice."A committee would be formed to determine the age of the student for admission in various classes of madrasas, on the basis of whose report a decision would be taken. At present, there are no plans to fix the maximum age for admission in madrasas," Ansari told PTI.Almost a week ago, Minority Welfare Minister Dharampal Singh had told reporters during distribution of mobile/tablets to meritorious students of high schools of madrasas that many older men, who were students at the madrasa, had come to receive the award and that it was not right.The statement had led to speculation that the government would fix a maximum age limit for admission in religious schools.However, Ansari asserted that the government had no such plans and that Singh"s recent statement should not be taken in a wrong way."What Dharampal Singh meant was that the education of children studying in madrasas should start at the right time and be completed at the right time," he said.There are 16,461 madrasas in the state, out of which 560 receive government grants.The state government is emphasising on modern education along with religious education in madrasas and is running various schemes for this.&nbsp;—PTI

Among them, 94.54 per cent are girls and 91.25 per cent are boys. At the same time, 100 per cent transgender students have cleared the examinations.As always, this time too, the girl students have outshone the boys by 3.29 per cent. Thiruvananthapuram ranked first with the highest pass percentage followed by Bangalore, while Chennai stood third. Delhi has been ranked fourth. A total of 14,44,341 students from across the country had registered themselves for the examinations, of which 14,35,366 appeared and 13,30,662 passed.Meanwhile, 93.98 per cent of the children studying abroad have passed the examinations. According to the CBSE board, this year 4.72 per cent i.e. 67,743 children will have to appear for a retest.As many as 33,432 students or 2.33 per cent have scored more than 95 per cent marks. The number of children securing 90 to 95 per cent is 1,34,797 which forms 9.39 per cent of the total children who passed.In Delhi, 96.29 per cent children passed the examination. A total of 3,00,075 from Delhi zone had registered, of which, 2,98,395 appeared in the examination and 2,87,326 passed.Last year, 99.37 per cent of students had cleared this exam. However, boards were not held due to Corona and the students were given marks under a special formula.Compared to 2019 and 2020, the children have performed better this time. In 2019, only 83.40 per cent children could clear the examination, while 88.78 per cent had passed in 2020.On the other hand, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas have topped this time when it comes to government-aided schools across the country. According to the CBSE board, 98.93 percent students from the school have passed.Earlier, the UGC had issued some special guidelines for all the universities of the country. According to this, all the universities were directed not to complete the first year admission process till the CBSE class 12 board results are out. Now, as CBSE has released class 12 board result, various universities across the country will be able to complete the first year admission process.However, this year, Class 12 marks will not be of any importance for admission in about 100 universities, including all central universities across the country. From this year onwards, Common Entrance Test i.e. CUET exam is being taken for admission in all these respective institutes. —IANS

New Delhi: Getting 500 out of 500 marks, two girls -- Yuvakshi Vij from Noida and Tanya Singh of Bulandshahr -- have scored 100 per cent marks in CBSE Class 12 results declared on Friday. Tanya Singh, a student of Delhi Public School in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, has also topped the CBSE Class 12 board examination.The CBSE has not released any toppers' list officially this time, nor has the board declared any student as a topper. Two EWS students from The Heritage School, Rohini have performed well in the CBSE Class 12 exams. Gulshan Kumar Pal has secured 96.2 percent marks in the EWS category. Talking to IANS, he gave full credit for his success to his teachers.While Tanya has scored 500 out of 500, three other girl students named Deepika Bansal, Radhika Agarwal and Bhumika Gupta have scored 499 out of 500. Ashima, another student from Ghaziabad, has has got 497 marks out of 500 (99.4 per cent).Expressing satisfaction over the results, Tanya said that the CBSE 12th Board result is a proud achievement not only for her but for her entire family. Tanya thanked her teachers and family members for her achievement.Yuvakshi, studying in a private school in Noida, too expressed happiness over her success. She has scored 100 out of 100 in all her subjects -- Political Science, English, History, Psychology and Painting.A total of 33,432 students have scored above 95 per cent marks in the CBSE Class 12 board this year. New Delhi: Overseas schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) could not repeat their past performance in the board examinations this year which have fallen to the lowest level since 2019. Around 44,000 overseas students had registered for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations this year, which comprises 18,834 for Class 12 and 25,095 for Class 10. Out of these students, 93.98 per cent of Class 12 students have passed the examinations, which the lowest pass percentage of students living abroad in the last four years. —IANS

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand High Court has directed the CBSE to grant provisional registration numbers to 42 class 12 students of a private school here and allow them to appear in the practical and board examinations for the 2022-23 session. The students had been denied permission to appear in the board examination on grounds that the school had not followed proper procedures in their admission.
A bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra issued the order on Thursday on a writ petition filed by the students, counsel for the petitioners Kartikey Hari Gupta said.
Forty-two students of Lucent International School, Prem Nagar, Dehradun, had filed the petition in the high court, praying for their CBSE registration and permission to appear in Class 12 Board Examination for the ongoing session.
The high court heard the matter and directed the CBSE to issue provisional registration numbers to the students and also allow them to appear in the practical and board examination of class 12 for the 2022-23 session, subject to the final outcome of the writ petition, Gupta said. It also directed the CBSE and the school to file a counter-affidavit in the matter within four weeks, he said. Lucent International School, Dehradun, gave admission to 42 students in class 12 directly as a transfer case. The students submitted their valid Transfer Certificates (TCs) along with their Class 11 marksheets to the school in the month of August 2022 at the time of admission. The school also charged about Rs 54,000 each for admission and CBSE registration fees. However, when the students approached the CBSE, it was found that the school never deposited the registration fees nor it took due permission from the board for their admissions, the counsel said. The students also complained to the Uttarakhand Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The commission held an inquiry, during which it was found that the school had given admissions in violation of CBSE procedure. A case of fraud under section 420 was registered against the principal and manager of the school on December 16. —PTI

Dehradun: Uttarakhand High Court on Thursday directed a CBSE Regional Officer to appear before it and explain why he had not complied with its order allowing 86 students by Lucent International School as lateral entries to appear in Class 12 board exams in 2022-23.
Due to the non-compliance with the order, the students could not appear in the practicals, their lawyer Kartikey Hari Gupta said.
Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra directed the Regional Officer, CBSE, Dehradun to explain his failure in complying with the order and why he should not be tried for contempt, he said.
The matter has been listed for further hearing on February 22, 2023.
In its order dated December 22, 2022, the high court directed the CBSE to issue provisional registration numbers to 86 students and permit them to undertake the practical as well as board exam, 2022-23.
Lucent International School, Dehradun, had admitted 86 students in Class 12 directly as transfer cases after the submission of valid transfer certificates and Class 11 mark sheets in August 2022 by them, their counsel said.
The school also charged about Rs 54,000 per student for admission and CBSE registration fees.
However, when the students approached the CBSE, they found that the school never deposited the registration fees nor did it take permission from the board for their admissions. —PTI

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Board's High School and Intermediate Examinations will begin from March 16.
For the first time, high school and intermediate examinations are to be held in the first shift.
Board Secretary Neeta Tiwari said, "The board examinations will continue till April 6." On December 29, last year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the date sheet for class 10 and class 12 board exams, stating that the exams will start on February 15 and end on March 10.
While the boards for Class 10 will get over on March 21 the exams for Class 12 will end on April 5.
The date sheets have been prepared by avoiding nearly 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that no two papers of a student fall on the same date, the release stated. The date sheet has been issued much in advance so that the students can prepare well for the examinations, the Board said. —ANI

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday declared the Class 12 exam results in which 87.33 per cent students have passed. This year the pass percentage of girl students has been 6 per cent higher than that of boys.

More than 16 lakh students from across the country had registered themselves for the CBSE Class 12 board examinations, out of which 7,45,433 were boys and 9,51,332 girls.

Thiruvananthapuram region stood first across the country with 99.91 per cent.

This year, girls outshined boys by 6.01 per cent with 90.68 per cent.

Meanwhile, CBSE will not award first, second and third divisions to its students to avoid unhealthy competition.

The board said that it will also declare the Class 10 result very soon.

CBSE had already released the six-digit DigiLocker security pin for Class 12 results. Through this, students can download their marksheet and migration certificate online from DigiLocker.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) said the new session of undergraduate courses will start from August 1.

New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself in northwest Delhi's Sultanpuri area after she failed in the Class 12 CBSE exam, the police said on Saturday.
The police said that the incident took place on Friday. The girl was taken to the SGM Hospital in Mangolpuri where she died during treatment.
"No suicide note was found and no foul play is suspected in her death," said a senior police officer.
The body has been handed over to the family members after autopsy on Saturday.
As per the autopsy report, the girl died due to asphyxia as a result of antemortem hanging.
In another incident, depressed over her poor results in the CBSE Class 12 board exaam, a 16-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her home in West Delhi's Hari Nagar area on Friday night.

New Delhi: For digital and skill education an important MoU was signed with the technology company Meta, on Monday in New Delhi.  During this initiative the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that this will increase CBSE schools engagement with Meta, increase AI, and VR capacity and increase knowledge of technology.  He said that the Meta will also work with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for capacity building.  Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched ‘Education to Entrepreneurship: Empowering Students, Educators, and Entrepreneurs’ in New Delhi in collaboration with Meta.  The MoU were signed in the presence of Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrashekhar.   Pradhan said that primary goal of these initiatives are to nurture the expedition and motivate young individuals to turn their educational groundwork into flourishing enterprises.  Meta unveiled this endeavor in partnership with both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Skill Development.  Pradhan called it a ‘game-changer’, saying “Education To Entrepreneurship’ partnership will take digital skilling to the grassroots, build capacities of our talent pool, seamlessly connect students, youth, workforce and micro-entrepreneurs, with futuristic technologies and transform our Amrit Peedhi into new-age problem solvers and entrepreneurs.”  MoS Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that guided by the tenets of NEP, META’s partnerships with NIESBUD, CBSE and AICTE will catalyse infinite possibilities for equipping our population with critical digital skills and empowering micro entrepreneurs and small businesses.  He said that the government is working to prepare the youth for rapidly transforming India and to equip them with skills so that they can succeed and play an important role in the evolving landscape of technology. —IANS

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education will not award any division or distinction in class 10 and 12 board exams, a senior official said on Friday.
"No overall division, distinction or aggregate of marks shall be awarded. Also, if a candidate has offered more than five subjects, the decision to determine the best five subjects may be taken by the admitting institution or employer,” said CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.  Bhardwaj said the Board does not calculate, declare or inform the percentage of marks.
"If the percentage of marks is required for higher education or in employment, the calculation if any, may be done by the admitting institution or employer," he said.  Earlier, the CBSE also did away with the practice of issuing merit lists to avoid unhealthy competition.

New Delhi [India]: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the 10th and 12th class board exams will begin on February 15, 2024. The exams will last for 55 days and conclude by April 10, 2024. According to the CBSE press release, the examinations for class 10 will begin on February 15, 2024, and continue till March 13. The 12th board examination will also begin on February 15, 2024 and end on April 2."
The release further informed that the exams will start at 10.30 am. For the 10th grade board, the Sanskrit exam will be held on February 19, 2024, followed by Hindi on February 21, 2024. English will be held on February 26, 2024, and Science on March 2, 2024. Home Science is scheduled for March 4, 2024, followed by Social Science on March 7, 2024. The last two exams are Mathematics on March 11, 2024 and Information Technology on March 13, 2024.

 The date sheet has been issued well in advance so that the students can prepare for the examinations.

Jan 02 (The Hawk): The Department of School Education and Literacy , under the Ministry of Education, has recently reported that more than 29 lakh students have failed to clear class X board exams in 2023. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, presenting the data in the Lok Sabha, stated that out of 18,99,08,809 students who took the examination, 1,60,346,671 passed, while 29,561,138 students did not advance to class XI.   “The reasons for failure of students in examination depends on various factors like not attending the schools, difficulty in following the instruction in schools, lack of interest in the studies, level of difficulty of question paper, lack of quality teachers, lack of support from parents, teachers and schools etc,” Pradhan said in the Lok Sabha.   Madhya Pradesh with 3.98 lakh students has the record number of students who failed to clear class X exams followed by Bihar Board at 3.48 lakh students, Uttar Pradesh at 2.97 lakh students and Gujarat at 2.45 lakh students, revealed the figures submitted by the ministry in Lok Sabha.  No-fail policy “With the RTE Act and the National Curriculum Framework emphasising on a no-fail policy till class VIII, the students are not given a chance to improve. As a result, later, at the time of boards, the students fail to perform well. Technological distractions, and lack of parental care can also be reasons for such poor performance,” says an education ministry official on condition of anonymity.   When it comes to CBSE, only 10% of the students fail to clear the examinations, however, when they appear in compartmental examination, most students manage to clear it, says Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examinations, CBSE.&nbsp;

We are providing academic support to our schools’ principals who are considered as the academic head. We provide sample question papers to the students with the thought that they will be aware and will not be afraid of the question paper. CBSE ensures that students not only pass but are able to learn better in the process,” he adds.   Quality teachers “School-going children may have a lot of problems. Performance is linked to learning and schools must first find out why are the students not learning or not showing interest,”  Circumstances, family support, social background of students and their ability to learn also need to be explored by schools. “Schools must probe whether education is seemingly not attractive to those students. Attendance is crucial because to sit for an examination, a student requires a certain percentage of attendance. It is a huge nation with so many boards. It is very difficult to identify the students if they are school-going or distant learners,” underlining the need for dedicated teachers. “If a student has not learnt, then the teacher has not taught,”  Handholding and reforms Despite the data by the Central government,that the situation is improving gradually. Bihar state schools had performed poorly, which has improved after 2019 due to the efforts put in by local administration and teachers.  “Innovative and reformative steps have helped the state schools. The overall pass percentage of Bihar class X students was 81.04% in 2023. This has been the highest so far for Bihar matriculation. Initially the passing percentage used to be 50% to 70%,”   “The impact of the reforms was felt from 2019. The BSEB was also awarded with the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration in 2022. Several changes were made to the Bihar board, which was infamous for paper leaks, cheating, delayed examinations, irregular results. The class sessions have also become regular.”   The exam pattern was changed five years ago, and the students have benefited from this. The number of objective-type questions has increased. Bihar board students now are preparing for competitive exams like JEE, NEET. So, while a student is preparing for a competitive exam, the exam pattern will help them in both – class X exams and competitive exams, says Dwivedi. Candidates preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) often face the challenging question of whether their preparation for JEE Main can result in a good performance in the CBSE/State/ICSE board Class 12 Board Exams. Additionally, CBSE /State/ICSE Boards cover subjects like English, Hindi, and other electives, which are not relevant to JEE.  Impact of JEE Preparation on CBSE/ICSE /State board Scores Positive impact: Getting well-prepared for JEE can definitely enhance your understanding of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, potentially leading to improved scores in these subjects during your CBSE/State /ICSE Boards. The practical approach employed in JEE preparation can also strengthen your problem-solving skills, which is beneficial for CBSE/ICSE /State board exams.  Negative impact: However, concentrating solely on JEE preparation might result in neglecting other subjects in your CBSE /ICSE Boards, potentially impacting your overall score. Also, the fast-paced and competitive nature of JEE preparation may not suit the broader context of CBSE/ICSE/STATE BOARD exams.   Factors to Consider Individual Learning Style: Some students perform well in stressful and competitive situations, while others prefer a more structured and well-balanced approach. The variety in learning styles can impact how effectively preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) aligns with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE/State/ICSE board) scores.  Exam Strategy: When it comes to the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), it's crucial to focus on applying your knowledge quickly. In contrast, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE/State/ICSE) Board Exams require a deep grasp of all subjects and the ability to manage your time effectively. Time Management: Effectively managing your time is vital when getting ready for both exams. It's important to allocate your time appropriately for each subject, taking into account their significance and considering your individual strengths and weaknesses.  Preparing for the JEE can help you build a strong foundation for scoring well in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in your CBSE/State/ICSE Boards. However, it's not a guaranteed path to success. Focusing solely on the JEE might cause you to neglect other subjects and may not be the best strategy for everyone.

Can JEE Preparation Guarantee High Scores In Class 12?

Lucknow: The class 10 and 12 exams for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began on Thursday across the country and 26 other countries. As per the CBSE, this year, more than 39 lakh students from India and 26 other countries will take the exam. In Delhi, 5,80,192 students will participate in the board examinations from 877 examination centers. Due to the current situation in Delhi, the CBSE has advised all students to leave their homes early so that they can reach their examination centers on time. They have advised students to use metro services to reach the examination centers, which are running smoothly. The board examinations for Class 10 are set to start on February 15, 2024, and will conclude on March 13, 2024. Similarly, the board examinations for Class 12 are due to begin on February 15, 2024, and will finish on April 2, 2024. "The preparation is complete, but the nervousness is high," said a class 10 student to ANI. Today, February 15, the CBSE board exams are starting. Today, only a few students have their exams, Class 10 has their painting exam today," an examiner told ANI. "The students have been told to bring their admit cards and stationery. Under the COVID protocol, they can bring sanitizers, but they cannot bring any kind of printed material," he added. In 2022 Class XII exams, Girls had outshined boys again with girls recording 90 per cent pass percentage. 17 lakh students had appeared for the class 12 board exams and that girls had excelled again since more than 90 per cent of females who took the exam passed. Meanwhile in Class X, of the total students who appeared for CBSE Class 10 board exam in 2022, 93.12 per cent qualified. The overall pass percentage in Class 10 results was 93.12 per cent. The pass percentage of girl students was 94.25 per cent while 92.27 per cent boys had passed.
