Patna, Sep 18 (IANS) Three people, including two teenagers, were killed and two others injured in a head-on motorcycle collision near Natinia Mai temple between Baghini and Bahdura villages under Mohania police station limits in Bihar’s Kaimur district on Friday.
Police identified the deceased as Vikas Kumar, alias Vikas Chaudhary, son of the late Awadhesh Chaudhary; Bittu Kumar, 18, son of Ramashankar Chaudhary; and Dilkhush Rai, 16, son of Zainu Rai. All were residents of Baghini village.
According to Arun Chaudhary, Vikas Kumar's uncle, the three youths were travelling from Baghini to Mohania block for work when their motorcycle collided with another coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused the riders to fall into a water-filled roadside ditch.
Passers-by spotted them and alerted families and police. Relatives rushed to the site, where villagers gathered in grief.
Mohania police reached the accident spot, conducted an inspection, and sent the bodies to Bhabua Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Police took the two injured to Mohania Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
The families of the deceased have sought compensation from the administration, saying the sudden deaths have left them in crisis.
Dayanand Kumar, in-charge DSP of Mohania, said police were examining both motorcycles and investigating the circumstances of the collision. “Three individuals from Baghini village lost their lives in a road accident. Two others are undergoing treatment. Further details will emerge following the post-mortem and investigation,” he said.
