New Delhi:&nbsp;A 22-year-old man was electrocuted to death while installing a lift in south Delhi's Fatehpur Beri area, police said on Wednesday. His associate, who too received the electrical shock, managed to escape with minor injuries, they said. The incident took place on July 22 at farm number 1 in Mandi village, they said. Noor Alam, a resident of Mahavir Colony in Kanjhawala, and Vijay, a resident of Ghaziabad, received shock while installing the lift and were taken to a hospital, they said. While Vijay, who is a lift mechanic, sustained minor injuries, his helper Alam was declared brought dead by the doctors, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker said "We have registered a case under section 288 (negligent conduct) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code and an investigation is being taken up," the DCP said.—PTI

Bengaluru (The Hawk): In Bengaluru's Nandini Layout, two youngsters who were electrocuted while attempting to capture pigeons sustained severe burn injuries. Their situation is critical, according to the medical professionals.
The boys are currently receiving treatment at Victoria Hospital and are on the verge of passing away.
Chandru and Supreeth, two residents of Vijayanandanagara in Nandini Layout, have been identified as the children.
Police claim that on Thursday, two youngsters with an iron rod climbed onto a home's terrace in an effort to collect pigeons. Their iron track unexpectedly collided with a high tension wire going through the roof while attempting to capture birds. They received an electric shock and suffered severe burns all over their bodies.
The incident caused a short circuit as well as the burning of electronic items in nearby homes. The Victoria Hospital received the youngsters right away.
Supreeth, one of the victims, received 80% burn injuries and is receiving care in the intensive care unit. Chandru, a different sufferer, is receiving care in the burns ward. The investigation has been started by the police.

Saharanpur: Four kanwariyas were injured after an iron rod attached to their truck's flag accidentally came into contact with an electric wire in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district, police said. The incident took place in the Nanauta area of Saharanpur. The injured individuals were devotees of Lord Shiva from Katha village in Baghpat, who were on their way to Haridwar to collect Ganga water. Additional Superintendent of Police, Sagar Jai, said as the iron rod touched the electric cable, current passed through the truck due to which four kanwariyas suffered burns. The injured have been taken to the district hospital, where their condition was said to be stable. —IANS

4 Kanwariyas Electrocuted In UP's Saharanpur

Chamoli: At least 15 people were killed when a transformer exploded at the Namami Gange construction site in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. The location was situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River.

The injured are being moved to a higher centre in Rishikesh.

Chamoli Superintendent of Police, Pramendra Dobhal, said, “We got a call from the village that a security guard has died of electrocution. When policemen went with villagers for the spot inspection, 21 people were electrocuted and suffered severe injuries. 15 people died in a hospital and the rest are critical,” he said.

Dhan Singh Rawat, the minister in charge of the Chamoli district, claimed 15 persons had been died. There are rescue helicopters on the way.

According to ADG law and order V Murugesan, 15 persons have been killed by electrocution, including a police sub-inspector and three home guards.

It is said that a young worker at the treatment plant died on Tuesday night. A large group of people, including the deceased person's relatives, were present when the police arrived the following morning. On Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m., several persons were electrocuted while a power line was being worked on and the current suddenly extended across the entire campus. The inured people have been admitted to the district hospital Gopeshwar.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed sorrow and requested a magisterial investigation. Expressing grief over the incident, Dhami has said proper treatment will be provided to all the injured. Along with this, strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty in the investigation.

Supposedly, Dhami may reach there by the evening and make the compensation announcement to the public.—Inputs from Agencies

Aligarh: Sources said on Friday that a couple died when they touched an overhead high-tension wire while working in a guava orchard in Mohanpur village of the district.
The victims were a farmer named Resham Pal, who was 42, and his wife, Geeta Devi, who was 40. And their three minor children survived: Sharad Kumar, 16, Debu Kukar, 15, and Diksha, 6.
According to Jitendra Kumar, Pal's brother, deaths occurred on Wednesday due to the power department carelessness.
“An electric wire fell on the ground leading to the incident. My brother and his wife were spraying pesticides on the trees in the orchard when a live electric wire fell on the ground. My brother accidentally came into contact with the exposed wire and got electrocuted. My sister-in-law rushed to save him but she too was electrocuted." Giriraj Singh, Pal's uncle, said.
“My nephew and his wife had rented the orchard and were working on it for the past three years. They would live and work inside the orchard. Compensation should be provided to the victim's family as they have three children."
However, officials of the power department refuted the allegations and said that the duo was electrocuted by "electrical fencing surrounding the orchard".
Raghavendra Singh, superintendent executive (rural) of the power department, said, “This incident has nothing to do with the department. The orchard was surrounded by electric fencing to prevent stray animals from entering the area.”
The SHO of Akrabad, MP Singh, has stated that an investigation is underway and that no complaints have been filed so far.—Inputs from Agencies
