New Delhi :&nbsp;The plea states that the syllabus and curriculum are common for all entrance examinations viz Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Management Aptitude Test (MAT), National Eligibility Test (NET), National Defence Academy (NDA), Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CU-CET), Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), National Entrance Screening Test (NEST), Probationary Officer (PO), Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA), National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), All India Entrance Examination for Design (AIEED), National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) etc. But, the syllabus and curriculum of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and State Boards are totally different.Thus, students don't get equal opportunity in the spirit of Articles 14-16, stated the plea. The petitioner Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, practising lawyer and BJP leader alleged that school mafias don't want one nation-one education board, "Coaching mafias don't want One Nation-One Syllabus and book mafias don't want NCERT books in all schools.That is why a uniform education system up to standard 12 has not been implemented yet." Petitioner submits that the present education system is not only dividing the society among Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Below Poverty Line (BPL), Middle Income Group (MIG), High Income Group (HIG), elite class but also against 'socialism secularism fraternity unity and integrity of the nation'."Moreover, it does not provide equal opportunity to all students as syllabus-curriculum of CBSE, ICSE and State Board is totally different. Although harmonious-purposive construction of Articles 14, 15, 16, 21, 21A with Articles 38, 39, 46 confirms that education is the most important fundamental right and the state cannot discriminate on the grounds of region, religion, race, caste, class or culture," he submitted.The petitioner further submitted that the student of a government school is ill-equipped to compete with the student of a private school that provides a British/French (International Baccalaureate) system of education and the gap becomes wider due to Section 1(4) and 1(5) of the Right To Education Act. "Even though this disparity cannot be fully removed but the government can establish a standardized entrance system for college and university aspirants.Standardization of syllabus and curriculum means that everyone would have equal chances of getting into colleges and universities," Kumar said. "The right to education is a fundamental right. Therefore, it must be at the same level and similar standard, and not based on the child's socioeconomic conditions.The children have the right to avail free compulsory and common education irrespective of their social-economic religious and cultural background," said the plea. "Uniform education for all students up to 12th standard would achieve the code of common culture, removal of disparity and depletion of discriminatory values in human relations among the citizens of this great nation. Moreover, it would enhance virtues and improve the quality of human life, elevate thoughts, which advance the constitutional philosophy of egalitarian society," read the petition—ANI

Lucknow (The Hawk): From the academic year 2023–2024, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum will be used in Uttar Pradesh's government elementary schools for classes 1 through 3.
The cabinet has received a proposal from the basic education department for approval, according to Vijay Kiran Anand, director general of school education for the U.P.
In U.P. Board schools, the NCERT books have already been made available to pupils in classes 9 through 12.
"The government has received a thorough proposal. Government schools will gradually begin using NCERT books. We will begin with classes 1 through 3 first. Then, starting in session 2024–2025, it will be presented to students in classes 4–5, and in the next session, it will be implemented among students in classes 6–8 "added the official.
When discussing books, he remarked, "The basic education department merely needs to obtain copyright approval for printing these books since they are already on the market. 75 lakh children in grades 1 through 3 will gain something from NCERT texts."
The decision to introduce the NCERT curriculum into council schools was made in 2018, and it was intended to be introduced gradually from classes I through 8 between 2021 and 2022. However, the Covid-19 epidemic caused a delay.
The government will now adopt the curriculum for classes 1 through 3 in the upcoming semester and classes 4 through 8 in the following two years. The workbook module has been prepared for teachers' training, which will be conducted beforehand by the basic education department.
The NCERT texts differ slightly from the SCERT materials, thus teachers' training is a crucial component, the official added.
The source explained that the decision to switch to NCERT books was made because the majority of competitive exams held after class 12 follow the NCERT syllabus.
When these children move on to higher classes after finishing secondary school, they will be able to adjust because NCERT books are already being taught in classes from 9 to 12.
In the state's 1,32 lakh (1,32,000) government basic and upper elementary schools, there are currently 1.9 crore (19 million) pupils enrolled.
NCERT curriculum was implemented in U.P. Board schools not long after the BJP administration took office.

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Waqf Board has decided to introduce NCERT syllabus and a dress code in its madrasas from next year as part of efforts to modernise madrasa education in the state.
The board has also decided to open the doors of its madrasas for children of all religions, Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams told PTI on T
The board runs 103 madrasas in Uttarakhand.
The board has also decided that its madrasas will give religious education to students for just an hour from 6.30 am to 7.30 am and conduct classes of general subjects from 8 am to 2 pm daily as in other schools, he said.
"We will introduce the NCERT syllabus and a dress code on the lines of English medium schools in our madrasas so that students feel on a par with the rest of school going children," Shams said. The idea is to help madrasa students join the academic mainstream and prepare them for a better future, he said.
The board has also decided to create seven model madrasas, two each in Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and one in Nainital where smart classes will be held, he said. "The decision is in keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of madrasa- going children holding the holy Quran in one hand and a laptop in the other. We want madrasas to emerge as centres of modern education," Shams said.
Meanwhile, the Wakf board has also decided to extend the duration of Hafiz-e-Quran education in its madrasas from four years to 10 years so that by the time the course is finished the students will have passed Class 10 or 12and will be mature enough to decide whether they want to pursue religious education or become doctors and engineers, he said.
"Modernisation of madrasa education will also help dispel the doubts often cast on their activities," Shams said. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and minister of social welfare and minority affairs Chandan Ram Das have assured the board of all possible help in its endeavour to modernise the madrasas, he said, adding the board will request them to provide NCERT books to madrasa students for free. —PTI

Bengaluru: Congress-led Karnataka government is all set to drop lessons on RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar for the students this academic year. It has also been decided to issue directions to teachers not to teach other lessons included during the tenure of the BJP government.  Sources explained that the Congress government would issue a circular soon in this regard. The lessons on the right-winger Chakravarthy Sulibele and scholar Bannanje Govindacharya will also be dropped. Since the textbooks of the 2023-24 academic year have already been published, the government would not order republication, but ask teachers to exclude the lessons.  It was decided on Tuesday at the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and attended by Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa and progressive thinkers, according to sources. It has also been decided to drop controversial and objectionable texts from teaching, examination and evaluation process.  Siddaramaiah directed that a committee be formed to look into the controversial content added during the tenure of BJP and submit a report in a week. The matter is likely to be discussed in the cabinet before the issue of an official circular.  Earlier, Siddaramaiah had made a categorical statement that the content, which poisons the mind of students, would be deleted.  While talking to IANS, senior BJP spokesperson Ganesh Karnik stated that Congress moves to blatantly withdraw, refuse and stop the steps taken by the BJP government in the interest of the nation, are closely observed.  "The power tariff hike, withdrawal of Rs 1.50 milk subsidy given to farmers by the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), increase in excise tax show that Congress government is taking money from the middle and upper middle class pockets. It is very much likely that the Rs 4,000 contribution of the state government to Kisan Samman Nidhi would also be withdrawn," he said.  "The changes to the textbooks by the BJP government were made as per the guidelines of the National Curriculum Forum (NCF). The BJP brought the syllabus up to 12th standard into the NCF framework from the state framework. It can't be done as per whims and fancies of CM Siddaramaiah and Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar," Ganesh Karnik stated.  He said, "The changes will have to be in accordance with the NCERT guidelines. The Congress government will have to face the consequences. It is provoking the emotions of large sections of people who love the history of India. Hedgewar was the Congress party secretary. When he found that there is no value in that party for the land and culture he founded the RSS."  "This is your fall. This is injustice to youth. The power is not permanent. New Delhi: National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has set up a high-power committee under the Chairpersonship of M. C. Pant, Chancellor, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) and Co-Chairperson Prof. Manjul Bhargava, Princeton University for The National Syllabus and Teaching Learning Material Committee (NSTC) to develop the school syllabus, textbooks and study materials for Classes 3-12. As per the Notification of NCERT dated 21st July, "As a follow-up of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), development of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE 2023) was initiated with the constitution of National Steering Committee vide MOE OM No. 11-2/2019 dated September 21, 2021." The NCF-SE is now in the advanced stages of development and shall act as the reference point and guiding roadmap for the syllabus and textbook developers for School Education all over the Country, it said. "In this context, a High-Powered Committee, the National Syllabus and Teaching Learning Material Committee (NSTC) is empowered to develop the school syllabus and textbooks and teaching learning materials for Classes 3-12," NCERT notification said. The other Members of the High Power Committee are Dr Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation, Shankar Mahadevan, Music Maestro, Mumbai and Ranjana Arora, NCERT, Member Secretary. The term and reference of the committee are that the textbooks and other teaching learning materials will cover all curricular areas and the subjects within, that are part of the NCF-SE, as also their support materials such as teacher handbooks. "The textbooks and other teaching learning materials developed and finalized by the NSTC shall be published and distributed by the NCERT," the notification said. NCERT notification further added that The NSTC will be assisted by 'Curricular Area Groups' (CAGs) to develop textbooks and other teaching learning materials for each of the subjects included in the syllabus. The Chairperson and Co-chairperson of NSTC will constitute the CAGS with appropriate experts and with the support of NCERT. The NSTC will be free to invite other experts for advice, consultation, and support as and when required. "The NSTC will be assisted by a Programme Office set up by the NCERT and NCERT shall provide all necessary expertise and support as per the needs of the NSTC." the notification added. A few members of the National Steering Committee, and the Mandate Group for the 'National Curriculum Frameworks', and other relevant experts, shall be drawn to form the 'NCF Oversight Committee' (NOC)," the notification said. The NCERT notification further said that the NOC will facilitate rigorous connection of the textbooks and LTMs being developed as a follow-up of NCF-SE including detailed orientation to NSTC and all the CAGs on the NCF-SE and subsequent engagement throughout the development process as required. Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Board students from classes 1-8 will now have a separate course on disaster management, like Hindi, English and Mathematics.  At present, a part of disaster management is taught under the subject of Geography in more than 1.5 lakh government schools of the state.  Preparations have been intensified to implement a separate curriculum with the aim of preparing over 2 crore children studying in these schools for the future challenges.  On the instructions of Director General Vijay Kiran Anand, experts of the State Education Institute have been asked to prepare the curriculum.  Earlier this month, Joint director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Pawan Kumar, sent a letter in this regard to the principal of the State Institute of Education.  At present, separate curricula are being prepared for classes 1-5 and classes 6-8 also.  Deepti Mishra, the assistant deputy education director of the institute, said that the curriculum is being prepared as per instructions of the government.

When you study from a foreign reference book, you may tend to learn topics that are not there in the syllabus. Cracking JEE is like crossing a river by a boat with a maximum amount of load. If you take more than the prescribed limit, the boat will sink.  8. Make a Revision Plan Make a plan that suits your study pattern. Don’t start afresh before a few weeks of examination. Do not try anything new just before the examination as this would waste your time and you may lose the information that you already grasped.  Suppose you have eighteen days to prepare before the examination, you revise chemistry in the first six days, physics in the next six days and mathematics in the last. It may happen you may not be able to recall some important points of chemistry after eighteen days of revision. So, try to study at least two subjects per day.  Let the pressure be on your study and not on yourself.
