New Delhi: The operation to douse the fire that broke out in Delhi’s Narela’s plastic granulation factory last night continued on Sunday morning. The fire was completely extinguished at night but there was a small pocket inside the building which was getting smoulder due to which, the fire started again and took the same shape. We’re unable to enter inside. We’re dousing the fire from outside. It is expected to be controlled in the next 2-3 hours,” said divisional fire officer AK Sharma.The official said that problems in the operation are also being caused due to the “small pockets” and high depth of the building.“Actually the depth of the factory is very high and we are not able to take entry inside due to excessive heat in the building. We are facing problems in the operation due to small pockets and high depth of the building,” he said. “Water is not able to go on the actual seat of the fire. You can see that we called here our hydraulic platform vehicle so that if there is anyone trapped inside, his/her life can be saved. We will do fire fighting in it from outside and will not put the lives of our fire workers in danger,” Sharma added.The official informed that there is a requirement for two more water tenders on the fire site. Notably, 22 fire tenders were rushed to the spot at night after the fire broke out. “Right now there are total of three bowers and three water tenders on the fire site. Two more vehicles are coming because officers have to put three vehicles in continuous operation. Due to the refilling process, they have called more vehicles for reinforcement” he said.“We received the call about the fire in Narela Industrial area at around 9.10 pm. Fire officials reached the spot and declared it a medium-category fire. No casualty has been reported,” SK Dua, Fire Department told ANI last night.—ANI

Delhi: The North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Saturday sought from the Narela Zone authorities a detailed report, including the type of area and tentative year of construction, of the building in Mundka where a massive fire broke out claiming at least 27 lives, officials said.The North Delhi civic body also ordered the zonal commissioners to conduct a detailed survey in their areas to find out if any prohibited activity is going on in non-conforming areas to prevent the recurrence of such a tragic incident."Notices be issued and relevant punitive action be taken. The exercise must be completed within 10 days and an action-taken report be submitted to the additional commissioner in charge of the factory licensing department," according to the order issued by the NDMC authorities.People were still frantically searching for their loved ones as police said 19 people were still unaccounted for.NDMC commissioner Sanjay Goel has asked the local civic authorities to treat the matter as a "top priority".The details have to be submitted within 48 hours, the communication said, adding it is learnt that the fire broke out reportedly due to a short circuit.NDMC has asked them to furnish details about the type of area -- whether it was in the category of residential, agricultural or Lal Dora -- where the building is located.It has sought the tentative year of construction of the building and its height, whether the structure was old or new and if any construction was ongoing, says the communication.It has asked if the building plan was sanctioned or not, and if not, the reason thereof. Also, the purpose for which the building was being used, whether it was permissible or not and whether an NOC from the fire department was obtained by the occupier or not.Details of factory licence, trade licence, conversion charges, property tax or other municipal dues paid or not, too have been sought.The NDMC has sought to know if any show-cause notice or other penal action have been taken in the past for any violation related to the building.Also whether there was any kind of lapse on the part of any municipal official of the civic body and the recommended action for it, the communication said.In another order, NDMC authorities said the factory licensing department shall give seven days to factory-owners in conforming or provisional confirming areas to either get a new online factory licence or renew it along with NOC from the fire department and uploaded those on the NDMC portal.In case of failure in doing so, necessary actions would be taken in a time-bound manner, it said.According to the order, the exercise must be completed within 15 days.The fire had started from the first floor of the building that houses the office of a CCTV camera and router manufacturing and assembling company on Friday.The Mundka building had a single entry and exit point, which could explain the reason for the high number of casualties, a senior fire department official said on Saturday.The building also did not have a no-objection certificate from the fire department, the officer added.According to the fire department, the death toll could rise to 30 as charred remains were found in the building during cooling operations on Saturday morning. New Delhi (The Hawk): Union Minister of Ayush Shri Sarbananda Sonowal today visited the National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH) at Narela, Delhi. NIH, Narela is a satellite Institute of the National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata and will be the first of its kind to be established in Northern India.

Addressing the gathering Shri Sarbananda Sonowal said that National Policy on Health envisages inter-alia mainstreaming of Ayush in healthcare and also to integrate these systems in education and research in all tiers of healthcare delivery. He said that the Ministry of Ayush has undertaken various steps to encourage R&amp;D and innovation, develop Apex level Institutes for education and research in Homoeopathy. I am confident this Homoeopathy Institute will popularize the Ayush system and cater to the needs of the Northern region of the country.
The foundation stone for the National Institute of Homoeopathy at Narela Delhi was laid on 16th October, 2018. This Institute will produce high quality professionals in various streams of Homoeopathy. This Institute will have 07 departments and provide PG &amp; Doctoral courses in multiple disciplines of Homoeopathy Medicine. The Institute will also focus on fundamental aspects of drug development, quality control, safety evaluation and scientific validation of Homoeopathy and practices. The Institute will establish Benchmark standards in Education, Health Care and Research.
NIH, Narela is being constructed at the cost of Rs. 287 Crore and shall also function as an international collaboration center for global promotion and research in the Homoeopathy system. The Institute will have a pivotal role in making bilateral and multilateral collaboration with the universities/research organizations of international repute.

New Delhi (The Hawk): According to authorities, a Delhi cloth shop owner was stabbed to death after he fought a robbery attempt.
On Sunday night, Praveen, 53, who owned a fabric shop in Bawana market, was on his way to Narela railway station to catch a train to his home in Haryana's Sonipat.
According to a senior police official, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, information was received from Raja Harish Chandra Hospital regarding Praveen, who was transported by CATS Ambulance from Narela train station and proclaimed dead.
"Upon getting the call, police officers rushed to the hospital and the scene of the incident." During the preliminary investigation, it was discovered that Praveen was running a cloth business in Bawana market and that at the time of the event, he and Salim, who is also an eyewitness and a resident of Sonipat, were on their way to the Narela station," said the police official.
"They used to go the passenger train from Delhi to Sonipat and back on a daily basis." Around 8.30 p.m., as they were walking towards the Narela Railway Station to take the train to Sonipat, two men approached and attempted to rob Praveen's bagl.
"When Praveen protested, one of the robbers grabbed him and stabbed him with a knife." Praveen was injured and fell down. "Both robbers escaped, and Salim phoned an ambulance and a PCR call," stated the police official.
"A complaint has been recorded at SMRS police station under Sections 302 (murder), 394 (causing hurt in committing robbery), 397 (robbery or dacoity), and 34 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code," stated an officer, adding that an investigation is underway.

New Delhi (The Hawk): Tuesday morning, a large fire broke out in a footwear factory in Outer Delhi's Narela Industrial Area, leaving two people dead and numerous others hurt. While 3–4 individuals were rescued, according to Delhi Fire Services authorities, they believe that another 2-3 persons are trapped inside the structure.
Around 9.30 am, the Delhi Fire Services received a call regarding the incident, and 10 fire tenders immediately arrived. "We extricated 3–4 persons from the structure. The teams contained the fire because it was in a factory. The DFS director, Atul Garg, stated that it is believed that 1-2 persons are still still inside the structure.
The injured were taken to the hospital and are stable, according to the police.
There were two fatalities. We are establishing who they are. In the factory, the victims were at work. The fire was put out by the fire departments. However, the factory's use of plastic and rubber leaves smoke behind, according to Devesh Kumar Mahla, DCP (Outer North).

Narela factory fire claims 2 lives; 3 people are saved

New Delhi: According to the police, a married couple committed suicide by hanging themselves at their home in the Narela neighbourhood of northwest Delhi on Wednesday.

The husband, whose name is Anwar and who lives in Bengali Colony near Singhu Border, was pronounced dead by doctors, while his wife Arzina, who is 35, is getting treatment at the hospital.

A senior police officer revealed that on Wednesday, the couple attempted suicide by hanging themselves in their house in Bengali Colony.

"Anwar died on the spot while his wife was saved by their daughter and subsequently rushed to the Raja Harishchander Hospital in Narela, where she is undergoing treatment," a police officer said.

According to preliminary inquiries, the couple had been engaging in heated exchange of words for the previous two to three days over domestic concerns.

The officer stated that there is currently no reason to suspect any kind of foul play in the situation.—Inputs from Agencies

New Delhi: A 22-year-old man was arrested for attacking a girl with a knife in broad daylight in the Mukherjee Nagar area of Delhi, a police official said on Sunday. The incident occurred in the early hours of March 22, in which the accused, identified as Aman, stabbed a girl in the Mukherjee Nagar area.
According to the police, Aman, the accused, keeps wandering here in Mukherjee Nagar, and the students living nearby used to make fun of him by calling him crazy. The girl whom he attacked comes to this area so often to study in the library. The accused said that the girl had also made fun of him. Out of anger, he picked up a knife from the vegetable stall and attacked her. The passers-by intervened and tried to stop and catch the accused, saving the girl from being killed. "It is often seen in such attacks that when the attacker is attacking, the people nearby run away in fear, but at the time of this attack, the people passing by tried their best to stop and catch the accused, due to which the attacker couldn't cause much harm to the girl," the police said.
"It is a matter of relief that the girl did not suffer any serious injuries in this attack and she is out of danger now," the police added. Earlier, after the incident, a video from Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, went viral in which a young man was seen attacking a girl. The video was captured on a CCTV camera of the nearby shop where the incident took place. Meanwhile, a fire broke out in a factory in Narela's Bhorgarh industrial area on Sunday afternoon. As per the fire department, a total of 25 fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse off the fire. Efforts to bring the fire under control are underway. No injuries or casualties have been reported in the case.
