Patna: Altogether 77 people have been arrested in connection with the communal violence that erupted in Bihar Sharif town in Nalanda district during the Ram Navami festivities, police said on Sunday.
Normalcy has been restored in Bihar Sharif, the police said.
Bihar Police tweeted on Sunday, "Normalcy has been restored in Bihar Sharif…the situation is completely under control. Total 77 people have so far been arrested by the district police as part of its investigation into the matter. Senior officers are camping in the affected areas..and adequate deployments of security forces have been made in the area".
The police dismissed rumours that are doing the rounds on social media about the rising tension in the area. The police urged the people to not pay heed to any such rumours. A senior officer of the Bihar Police said, “Probe is on to nab other miscreants also responsible for Ram Navami violence amid prevailing tension in the area".
Police said that prohibitory order under section 144 of the CRPC is in place in Bihar Sharif after fresh clashes broke out on Saturday night.
The state police had on Saturday arrested 45 people in connection with communal riots at Sasaram and Bihar Sharif that erupted during the Ram Navami festivities. Vehicles, houses and shops were torched and several people injured in communal flare-ups reported in both towns.
In Sasaram, the district administration ordered imposition of prohibitory order under section 144 of the CRPC on Friday afternoon after re-eruption of clashes, which first broke out the previous evening.

When uneducated people are living a comfortable life in the society, they are being respected enough, then who would bother to read and write. Thus, the meaning and influence of the printed word has overall diminished and the social status of an educated person has declined. Increasing unemployment, sense of disrespect towards educated people led to the book It has lost its importance and luster. It is a different matter that pulp literature and so-called entertaining literature are being sold indiscriminately today. New writers are presenting their point of view with new Hindi and new understanding and young writers have made their place among young readers by raising contemporary problems. The language of career, college love affair and a bit of a spicy web series is making established writers stand out. Our publishers keep on crying about the sale of books and the lack of readers. Readers also complained about the high prices of books Let's go But taking a pizza for Rs.300 and a multiplex ticket for Rs.200, he doesn't feel any remorse, just in the name of books, he starts crying. That affection and respect for books has not survived in the Hindi heartland at the moment. In Bengal, on the occasion of Durga Puja, all the publishers and newspapers bring out big special issues. In the digital age, books can be read on the Internet through e-books or existing resources or apps and can be easily listened to on the go. busy or They are also being used by the elders. We should take a sacred resolution that we should not only make the country literate in statistics, but also create a well-educated, cultured society, where books can breathe freely, spread knowledge with joy.&nbsp;

Patna: A relative of a former union minister was shot at allegedly by a JD(U) leader in Bihar’s Nalanda district.  The relative, identified as, Pintu Kumar Singh was returning from Mustafapur, the native village of RCP Singh after attending a meeting when he was shot at near Darahra village on Sunday night.  The victim was admitted in a private hospital and his condition is said to be critical. He sustained a gunshot wound in his back.
"Pintu Kumar was shot-at near Dharahra under Silao police station. It could be a case of property dispute between attackers at the victim. We are investigating the matter," said Ashok Mishra, the SP of Nalanda.  Following the incident, RCP Singh slammed the Nitish government for "deteriorating" law and order situation in the state.  "They are trying to prevent anyone from meeting me. The victim is my close relative (grandson). He was threatened by them to leave my company. The victim is saying the attacker belongs to JD(U). Nitish Kumar does not have guts to fight with me politically and hence he is targeting my relatives," RCP Singh said.  Pintu Kumar Singh is a grandson of RCP Singh's cousin brother.

New Delhi [India]: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar on Friday said that it is a matter of reflection, contemplation and concern that some people make inappropriate comments on constitutional institutions, wearing political glasses.  Describing such behaviour against cultural ethos, he underlined “The higher the position a person holds, the more dignified his conduct should be. Making any comment to gain political advantage is not a good thing.”
Calling upon everyone to be quite responsible when it comes to constitutional institutions, Dhankhar stressed that “We must not look at constitutional functionaries with a political prism, only to score brownie political points. That is not acceptable.”
Addressing a gathering of students, staff and faculty of Nalanda University in Bihar, the Vice President said that in the field of education, the world has not seen a more potent and powerful brand. “Nalanda, because its history and Legacy stands out in the world and people will only salute. You have to take this legacy to a higher level.” Noting that the reincarnation of Nalanda will give us a global foothold to disseminate knowledge, he praised the use of Nalanda Mahavihara's image in the backdrop of the recently concluded G20 summit. “In that backdrop of Nalanda, the leaders were received and greeted that speaks volumes of your brand, acceptability of your brand, non-controversial, non-confrontational, collaborative, cooperative, consensual and that is conducive to growth,” he added.
Describing education as the most impactful and transformational mechanism, Shri Dankhar said that “if the world has to be changed, if the society has to progress, if inequities are to be levelled and if justice is to reach the last in the line, knowledge alone can do it.” Fortunately boys and girls there is an emergence of an ecosystem system now in Bharat that allows you to fully utilise your energy, exploit your talent and potential, and realise your aspirations and dreams. There are no handicaps now. Noting that a decade ago, India was included in the Fragile Five economies, the Vice President said that our journey from "from 'Fragile Five' to the world's 5th largest economy is no small achievement.” He expressed confidence that by the turn of the decade, Bharat will be the third-largest economy in the world. Observing that the world thrives on good virtues of wisdom, sublimity, tolerance and listening to other points of view, he underlined the need to have respect for others’ points of view. “Don't be judgmental about it. In my experience, sometimes the other point of view is the correct one,” he added. Recognizing that education leads to respect for other humankind, the Vice President stated “It enlarges your horizon that you don't think in terms of village, state or a nation... you think globally!” He also advised students to be inquisitive and never stop learning, even after leaving Nalanda. Calling the youth as ‘the foot soldiers of democracy’, he cautioned them about the sinister narratives set afloat on social media to malign the image of the country and asked them to speak their minds on such issues. “It is your intelligence that has to neutralize such a narrative, it is your obligation to this society that you must be proactive to nip in the bud such sinister ideas and narratives,” he emphasised. On this occasion, the Vice President also praised the Nalanda University campus for being a net zero energy, net zero emission and net zero waste campus, the first of its kind in India.&nbsp;
