New Delhi (The Hawk): To celebrate International Museum Day, the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi is organizing a host of educational activities and programs under the theme of ‘Power of Museums’ as mentioned by International Council of Museums (ICOM). Every year since 1977, ICOM has been organizing an International Museum Day (IMD), which represents a unique event for the international museum community. The objective of this day is to raise awareness of the role that museums play as an ‘important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.’The National Gallery of Modern Art will present weeklong celebrations with the above-mentioned theme from 16th – 20th May 2022. Two seminal exhibitions focusing on the modern masters of Indian art titled, Hastantaran and Kshetragya will be inaugurated on 18th May by Shri G. Kishan ReddyMinister of Culture, Minister of Tourism &amp; Minister of Development of North- Eastern region as chief guest in the presence of Shri Govind Mohan, Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Ms. Lily Pandeya, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture.While the exhibition Hastantaran invites the viewer to the artistic and spiritual journey of the Nandalal Bose (1882- 1966) traversing through different mediums, murals to lithographs and panel paintings done for Haripura session of Congress; Kshetragya celebrates the Navratnas of India’s National Art Treasures, with a special focus on the artistic interventions of Benode Behari Mukherjee and Ramkinkar Baij.A series of guided walkthroughs and art workshops based on the art of Jamini Roy and Amrita Sher-Gil will form the core of the interdisciplinary program. Night at the Museum will be organized for underprivileged children during the extended visiting hours of the museum in the evening with 3D projection mapping.Under the auspices of the cultural exchange program between India and Brazil, the exhibition titled, Brasilia and the construction of Modern Brazil will be inaugurated on 16th May 2022 in the gracious presence of Shri Hardeep Singh Puri Union Minister for Housing &amp; Urban Affairs &amp; Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas as the chief guest and Smt Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for Culture as guest of honour.Apart from these events, there is an interesting lineup of cultural performances, photo booths for those keen on selfies to name a few. On the ocassion Secretary, Ministry of Culture Shri Govind Mohan, DG NGMA Sh Gadanayak and Joint Secretary Lily Pandey were also present.

New Delhi (The Hawk): On the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, the National Gallery of Modern Art has organized a Painting &amp; Pottery workshop today at its premises in New Delhi today.
Director NGMA, Smt. Temsunaro Jamir Tripathi interacted with the participants and their parents. She addressed the gathering and said that the Gallery is organizing events and exclusively curated shows for the differently abled children. Further, she said that NGMA is actively involving civil society for public awareness and establishing a voice for people with special needs, such as "Autism Week '' and sign-language tours. These events align with the revised definition of museums: “Open to the public, accessible and inclusive, museums foster diversity and sustainability”.
The workshop will give a platform to express themselves creatively and showcase their abilities and ideas. The pottery session is guided by Gurugram based Shaurya Mehrotra, potter and artist with down syndrome.

Meenakashi Lekhi inaugurated the “Buddham Saranam Gacchami” Exhibition in the presence of senior Buddhist monks, Ambassadors, diplomats and Ministry officials on May 10, 2023 at the National Gallery of Modern Arts, New Delhi. H.E. the Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche of the Drepung Gomang Monastery was the Guest of Honour at the event. The Exhibition organized in the week succeeding Buddha Purnima was based on the life of Lord Buddha and showcased the voyage of Buddhist art and culture around the world, exhibiting works of art by iconic masters of modern Indian art, divided into sections, each documenting a distinct facet of Buddhism and Buddha's life. These artistic works that have been put on display offer a glimpse into the history and philosophy of one of Buddhism. The Exhibition started with the lighting of lamp and presentation of Angavastra amidst chanting by senior Buddhist monks. It was followed by a performance of “Shweta Mukti” which showcased feminine glory of Nirvana presented in Odissi Dance style by Kavita Dwibedi and her troupe.  Missions of numerous countries were represented at the event through their Head of Missions and deputies. The inauguration was attended by most of the countries which have significant Buddhist population such as Nepal, Myanmar, Mongolia, South Korea, Thailand, Bhutan, etc. The exhibition also saw participation of Ambassadors from countries like Denmark, Greece, Luxembourg, Jamaica, Portugal, Georgia, Iceland, Ecuador, Syria, Peru and senior diplomats from many others. The Exhibition showcases paintings from countries like Sri Lanka and Myanmar and showcased how Buddhism traversed across different countries. The aim of the exhibition is to delve into an exploration about the spirituality of art and their elements related with Buddhism and its journey expressing the universal values of wisdom, compassion, and peace.  The iconic Indian artist Nandalal Bose has explored the life and teachings of Buddha and his path of spirituality through line drawings with an ethereal quality. The scenic Himalayas in its true beauty find their representation in the works of Nicholas Roerich and Bireswar Sen. The diplomatic corps appreciated the Exhibition and the cultural programme as they got to know more about the life of Lord Buddha and the values espoused by him.

Srinagar: After spending two days in Jammu &amp; Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah returned to Delhi on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, Shah laid the foundation of the 'Balidan Stambh' in Pratap Park adjacent to the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar.

In addition to that, he paid a visit to the veteran leader Dr Karan Singh and inaugurated the Martyrs Gallery at the Police Golf Course.

New Delhi: Gallery Latitude 28 in the national capital will present a solo exhibition of artist Pratul Dash titled 'A Bend in the River' that draws viewers to engage with an alternate view of reality from September 28 to October 7 at Bikaner House.
Dash has been preoccupied with the fear and fantasies that accelerate contemporary life and constantly change in unwarranted ways. His reflections on everyday, mundane, abstract, and philosophical observations are reflected in this exhibition that features abstract artworks, drawing viewers into a world that is open to interpretation.
"My art is intricately woven into India's vibrant fabric, where human stories, cultural threads, and political landscapes come together. In a world where borders blur and global influences are strong, my creative expressions tell a story of how local and universal ideas dance together. While I am not swayed by external pressures, my creations are a lively conversation between my own context and the global viewpoint, showcasing the delicate balance of our times," says Dash.
"Coming full circle, Dash's style has again evolved in a completely new direction, yet the themes and preoccupations that consume the artist have not changed. As an artist, Dash finds new ways to express himself and his innermost ideologies and self-inquiries, leaving one to always wonder about what is going to come next. The works in this show are inspired by landscape, memories both fragmented and time-based, self-prognosis, and contemporary commentaries," adds Bhavna Kakar, Founder of Latitude 28.
The artist stresses that his art is also his way of carrying forth his conceptualizations of cellular structure, topography, human bodies, dogs, maps, bones, and the elements of our universe into a pluriverse of coexistence. Translating the abstract qualities of the mind, the artist also notates his fixation on the phenomena of memory and memory-making.
As he uses 'politics of aesthetics' as a tool, he delves into his subconscious, where his meanderings are a reflection of the current events and times as well.
"Over the years, I look at the painted surface as a window through which one can slowly rupture and fragment the viewer's ideal of realism," concludes Dash.

New Delhi: Two unidentified men on Wednesday jumped from the visitor's gallery in Lok Sabha following which the House was adjourned.  The incident took place at 1 p.m. when Rajendra Agarwal was chairing the House.  After the two men jumped from the visitor's gallery, there was a slight commotion and the House was adjourned.  The men then kept on climbing the tables towards the Chair. However, he was caught by the security officials.  Agarwal then immediately announced the adjournment of the House till 2 p.m.  The breach in the security came on the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament Attack.  Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other parliamentarians paid their tributes to the security personnel who died in the 2001 Parliament attack .

New Delhi: In a massive security breach on Wednesday on the day of the 22nd anniversary of 2001 Parliament attack, two unidentified people jumped into Lok Sabha from the visitors' gallery, started running around the House and also lit up smoke sticks. The MPs who were participating in the House proceedings were taken by surprise. The incident took place at 1 p.m. when Rajendra Agarwal was chairing the House. After the two men jumped from the visitor's gallery, there was commotion and the House was adjourned. The men then kept on climbing the tables towards the Chair. However, he was caught by the MPs.  DMK MP Senthilkumar took to X and said, "Two persons jumped from the Lok Sabha visitors gallery into the Lok Sabha house while proceedings were going on during zero hour. They started advancing and rushing towards the well of the house and they lighted up smoke sticks. Security was compromised." Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi also took to X and said, "Saw two young men unleash foul smelling yellow coloured gas from canisters inside Parliament gallery. MPs rushed to grab these men. One person was raising some slogans. This raises serious questions on another aspect of the new Parliament building- security." Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other parliamentarians paid their tributes to the security personnel who died in the 2001 Parliament attack .

 Many MPs said that they were left surprised with the massive security breach inside the House. Many MPs who came out of the Lok Sabha said that two unidentified men were seen and they were spraying some kind of gas. Both the unidentified persons have been taken into custody and multi-agency questioning will take place. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police also apprehended two persons, including one woman from outside Parliament House with colour smoke sticks.

New Delhi [India]: After the security of Parliament was breached, the Secretary General of Lok Sabha has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs over a review of security and decision has been taken that no passes will be issued for the visitors' gallery till further orders, Sources said. Earlier, Lok Sabh Speaker Om Birla met with leaders of political parties over the security breach incident, and he agreed with the Opposition leaders raising concerns related to security, assuring that security would be reviewed.
According to sources, the Secretary General of Lok Sabha has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs over a review of security.  No passes will be issued for the public gallery till further orders. Speaker Om Birla has also taken charge of the matter related to issuing passes to personal assistants of MPs, sources added. On the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament terror attack, there was a major security breach when two intruders entered the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitor gallery during Zero Hour. In a security breach in Lok Sabha, two men jumped into the House from the visitors' gallery and had canisters in their hand, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said. They released yellow gas from canisters and shouted slogans before being overpowered by MPs. Visuals showed an unidentified man jumping from the visitor's gallery of Lok Sabha after which there was a slight commotion. The House was adjourned till 2 pm.  The incident happened when members were raising matters of urgent public importance and BJP MP Khagen Murmu was raising his issue. Simultaneously, two individuals, including a woman, sprayed colored gas and shouted slogans outside the Parliament premises. Earlier in the day, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said that two men jumped into the House from the visitor's gallery and had canisters in their hands.

Energy Revolution: The Adani Green Energy Gallery at the Science museum in London examines this century's defining challenge through the lens of imagination across three sections. In the 'Future Planet' section, visitors can explore how scientists use complex computer-based models to understand our planet, and what these tell us about the range of climate futures that might lie ahead.
In the 'Future Energy' section, technologies - and the people behind them - that are reimagining how energy is supplied and used are highlighted alongside historic artefacts which provide a longer view of the transition away from fossil fuels. 'Our Future' section looks to a new world that is being dreamt up, with children's creative ideas of how the world will meet its future energy needs displayed with expert responses to them.
The gallery's title funder is Adani Green Energy. At the centre of the gallery is Only Breath, a moving sculpture that signifies the power of nature to inspire technological change.
