San Francisco (The Hawk): A new smartphone application called "Self Repair Assistant" is purportedly being developed by tech giant Samsung for DIY (do it yourself) aficionados.
SamMobile says that information about the company's ambitions for its Self-Repair service was revealed in the tech giant's most recent trademark application.
The trademark application specifies that the program's icon is made up of a stylized cogwheel and a wrench set against a blue background.
Self Repair Assistant is a "computer application programme for mobile phones for self-installation and self-maintenance of smartwatches, tablets, mobile phones, and earphones," according to the trademark application.
It is anticipated that it will offer "consultancy and information services relevant to self-installation and self-repair" of different mobile device types.
By instructing users on how to maintain and fix their Samsung mobile devices, it will be helpful.
In August, the business launched its same Self-Repair offering in the US.
Only a few Galaxy smartphones could access the programme at the time, but the new application is expected to increase that number.
According to the article, Samsung and iFixit, which offers the components, tools, and instructions for disassembly and repairs, collaborated to establish the initiative.
