Chikkaballapur, Karnataka (The Hawk): Five robbers broke into the home of an assistant police sub-inspector (ASI) in the Chikkaballapur district's Paresandra hamlet, shot the ASI's son, and stole gold jewellery and cash in a horrifying event.
The son of ASI Narayanaswamy, Sharath, was shot three times by the robbers. His condition is critical and he has been admitted to the neighbourhood hospital. The occurrence happened on Wednesday night.
The burglars, according to the police, forced their way inside Narayanaswamy's home. With the gun, they threatened him, his wife, and his daughter-in-law. The robbers forced Narayanaswamy out of the house and threatened to kill him if he told anybody about them.
When Sharath, who was also at home, stepped in to save his family, the thieves started shooting. After stealing their gold, jewellery, and money, the bandits vanished.

Patna: A gang of five to six armed robbers looted a bike and other valuables of a sub-inspector in Naugachia in Bihar's Bhagalpur district.

The incident happened late on Thursday night.

The victim, sub-inspector Umashankar Singh, is deployed at the Naugachia police station. He had gone to the Bihpur police station for some official work.

While returning at around 9 p.m., his motorbike was overtaken by the highway robbers at Kharik village, who looted him of his bike, cash and two mobile phones at gunpoint. The robbers had put the gun on his head and threatened dire consequences if he shouted or revealed the incidents to anyone.

Sushant Kumar Saroj, the SP of Navgachiya said: "An incident of loot with a sub-inspector rank officer happened in the district. We are making efforts to identify the accused. Raids are on to nab them.

Following the incident, a large number of police forces reached the spot and conducted raids in the adjoining villages. IANS

Lucknow: In Lucknow, a 60-year-old woman was found dead inside her house after being strangled by alleged robbers.
“The deceased was identified as Nafeesa Fatima, who used to live with her husband as their children lived abroad. The incident happened late on Wednesday afternoon at FM apartment in Ghazipur area, when her husband was out and she was alone in the house,” Qasim Abidi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (North), said.
Three robbers broke into the house with an intention of stealing.
However, when the victim offered resistance, the accused strangled her, looted the house and escaped.
Wasim, the husband of the deceased, is a contractor and was out on work when the tragic incident occurred, according to relatives.
The family said that the woman had been ill for a long time and they had come to collect a blood sample of the woman, when they found her lying unconscious on the floor and the house ransacked.
The police were notified, and the woman was taken to Lohia Hospital immediately.
“As soon as the information was received, police reached the spot. The woman was unconscious when she was taken to Lohia Hospital where she was declared dead,” informed DCP.
“It seems that the robbers entered the house after ringing the doorbell as through CCTV it does not look like a forced entry. Our field unit team and electronic unit are working on the matter,” he added.—Inputs from Agencies

Gurugram: The police in Haryana have busted a four-member gang of robbers that had allegedly kidnapped and looted a man on September 24, an official said on Friday.  The accused persons, hailing from Ujina village in Haryana's Nuh district, would pose as commuters and driver of a "shared taxi", the police said.  The arrested individuals have been identified as Kapil, Deepak, Jitender a.k.a. Jitu and Anun. Kapil is a cab driver and others are labourers.  They were arrested by a Crime Branch team of the Gurugram police from the Sohna area.  The suspects had targeted a man identified as Anil, a resident of Palwal district, on September 24.  The accused offered a ride to him in a cab and robbed him and dumped him in the forest area on Thursday.  The gang members assaulted him, forcibly took his ATM card and PIN to withdraw money, snatched Rs 4,000 from him, and belongings from him, the police said. —IANS
