Mau, April 2 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, on Thursday, launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its chief Akhilesh Yadav, claiming that the party is steadily losing its grip at the grassroots level while the NDA is witnessing growing public support.
Addressing the media, Rajbhar said he personally observed a large turnout, with people arriving from various parts of Purvanchal as well as distant regions.
He asserted that such participation reflects a strengthening support base for the NDA.
Taking a jibe at SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Rajbhar said the SP lacks an effective leadership capable of mobilising votes across the state.
He also claimed that sections of the Yadav and Muslim communities are gradually shifting their support towards the BJP, a trend he said could significantly influence the 2027 Assembly elections.
Commenting on the Gurjar community, Rajbhar said it is deeply rooted in religious faith, with strong devotion towards Lord Ram and Lord Krishna.
He alleged that Akhilesh Yadav avoids taking a clear stand on such issues.
Referring to the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Rajbhar claimed that while the Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana encouraged state legislators to visit the temple, Akhilesh Yadav chose to boycott the appeal.
He also alleged that the SP Chief avoids visiting Mathura.
Rajbhar also said that internal dynamics within the Samajwadi Party are weakening its poll prospects, suggesting that even its own party members may not fully support its return to power in Uttar Pradesh.
He claimed that various social groups are forming independent political alignments, which is eroding the SP's traditional base.
Drawing a contrast, Rajbhar asserted that leaders within the NDA possess strong individual vote banks, unlike those in the SP.
He added that if the SP truly had widespread support, instances of boycott and public opposition would not be visible against it in Uttar Pradesh.
Rajbhar said he had come across multiple videos on the social media showing members of the Gurjar community protesting against the SP, questioning the party's claims of strong public backing.
