Jaipur (The Hawk): On Wednesday, the former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot raised questions about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's admiration for Ashok Gehlot and urged his party to make a decision regarding the position of chief minister.
Additionally, he pressed the party to take action against Rajasthani officials who, in September, led a show of support for Gehlot by skipping a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting.
His comments on the intriguing development—which he cautioned against dismissing—signal the resumption of the struggle within the party's state organisation, which had been temporarily put on pause while the Congress presidential election was taking place.
Pilot, who spearheaded an uprising against Gehlot in 2020, made reference to the occasion on Tuesday in Mangarh Dham in Banswara district, where Gehlot and Modi shared the dais. The local leaders paid respect to the tribal members who died in a 1913 revolt against the British.
This is an important event because the prime minister has previously lauded Ghulam Nabi Azad in the same way in the House of Parliament. The PM praised the chief minister. He told reporters at his house, "And we have all seen what circumstances were produced after that.
The allusion was to Azad's resignation from the Congress and subsequent formation of his own party.
The PM's appreciation of the CM is thus an intriguing development and should not be dismissed, he said.
The former head of the Rajasthan Congress indirectly demanded that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) take action against the Rajasthan Congress officials responsible for organising a show of force for Gehlot in September.
Supporters of Gehlot wanted him or an ally to stay in office as chief minister because they thought he might be promoted to the position of party national president and Pilot might replace him in Rajasthan.
The MLAs were supposed to pass a one-line resolution giving the party high command the authority to choose the future CM at the CLP meeting, which the CM's supporters boycotted.
Pilot stated that there were now only 13 months until the assembly elections and that the AICC would quickly make any necessary decisions, including calling another CLP.
Additionally, he implied that the party will take action shortly against members who had received letters from the AICC for indiscipline in September.
In reference to the position of chief minister, he recalled that K C Venugopal, general secretary (organisation) of the AICC, had stated at the time that a decision would be made about Rajasthan soon.
The inaction in Rajasthan must cease, according to Pilot, and action will soon be taken.
Pilot stated that when the CLP meeting could not take place during the turmoil that arose in September, the CM had personally apologised to then-party president Sonia Gandhi. " He stated that observers Ajay Maken and Mallikarjun Kharge also took it seriously.
He recalled that the AICC deemed it a problem of indiscipline and issued notices to three members.
The three state governors, according to him, have now responded to the notices.
He stated, "I think the Congress is a traditional and disciplined party, and the norms and the party discipline are applicable to everyone, regardless of how significant an individual may be."
According to the pilot, it cannot occur that the party views a development as indiscipline, sends notices, and solicits responses but makes no judgement. "I think a choice will be made soon.
MLAs who supported Gehlot conducted a parallel meeting at the residence of Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal instead of going to the CLP meeting, and they reportedly delivered their resignation letters to Assembly Speaker C P Joshi after the meeting.
Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi, the main whip for the Congress, and Dharmendra Rathore, the head of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation, had all received notices from the AICC.
The Congress leader responded that it is up to the party to provide anyone with any positions or responsibilities when questioned about the likelihood of any changes in the state.
When he was the Gujarat CM, PM Modi referred to Gehlot as the senior-most chief minister in the CM fraternity during his remarks at the Mangarh event on Tuesday.
Even today, according to Modi, he is one of the senior-most chief ministers.
According to Pilot, the prime minister was supposed to proclaim Mangarh Dham a national monument, but this did not occur, maybe because the state is currently governed by the Congress party.
Despite a prior agreement, he said, Modi did not designate Rajasthan's Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) as a national project.

New Delhi: The Archies has been a talking point more for its main cast, all of them new and three the children of showbiz biggies, than perhaps anything else. And have now got a thumbs up from industry veteran Javed Akhtar who says they are very good, confident and talented.
It is difficult to believe they are facing the camera for the first time, Akhtar said about the youngsters who form the mainstay of his daughter Zoya Akhtar's Netflix musical that adapts the world of the popular American comic to a small town in India in the 1960s.  "All of them are very good. They're really talented kids and very confident. Earlier, actors would have rough edges and gradually they would get polished, and they would find their genre, but these children come with a total chin up," Akhtar told PTI in an interview.
The film marks the acting debut of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan (Veronica), the late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor (Betty), and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda (Archie).  Newcomers Dot, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda round out the primary cast of the film.  Akhtar, who extensively worked with Bachchan in the 70s and has also collaborated with Shah Rukh and Sridevi on various movies, has nothing but praise for the budding actors. The lyricist has penned tracks such as Sunoh and Va Va Voom for the film.  Asked about working with the third generation Bachchan and second-generation Khan and Kapoor, Akhtar said all three -- Agastya, Suhana and Khushi --- have the potential to make it big.  "I predict that Agastya will be a heartthrob for teenagers and young girls, that's for sure. He is bringing a new recipe of the hero. Elements of his personality are not to be seen nowadays. He is shy, humble, cute, confident, but not aggressive. And that's wonderful. He's a good-looking boy," the writer-lyricist said.  "Suhana is a competent actor and she is confidence personified. It is difficult to believe that it is her first film. The way she moved in front of the camera, the way she walked, the way she looked into the camera and so on. And Khushi has inherited her mother Sridevi ji's mobility... That is very much there in her," he added.  Set in 1964, The Archies is a coming-of-age musical which follows the lives of Riverdale’s favourite set of teenagers - Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. Seen through the lens of the unique Anglo-Indian community, the film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak and rebellion.  Akhtar, who often collaborates with daughter Zoya and son Farhan on their films as a lyricist, said penning the songs for the new film came with a set of challenges and a list of 'dos and don'ts' from the director.  "I was careful that I should not use any words which will draw attention and create a question in an average listener's mind 'How could Archie, Veronica, or Betty say this word?' Because they live in a small town called Riverdale, which is somewhere beyond Mussoorie. It's an Anglo-Indian village and they speak Hindustani and Hindi. But even in dialogues, a lot of English words are scattered," he said.  "I have to take care that the dialogues and the lyrics don't look from different planets. So, I imposed a kind of a ban on me for almost 85 per cent of my vocabulary," he said.  Akhtar credits musicians Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa for composing the vibrant, youthful soundtrack.  Praising Zoya Akhtar for her clarity, Akhtar said her instructions made his job both easy and challenging.  He said both his children are a joy to collaborate with.  He has written lyrics for almost of all of his children's feature directorials -- Farhan's Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Don and Zoya's Luck By Chance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy and now The Archies.  "They give me a situation in detail... It's a pleasure working with them because they are sure about what they want. It makes things easy but at the same time difficult too. Because they are so clear, they don't allow you to move one way or the other," he said.  Asked whether he tries to get away with certain things in his lyrics, Akhtar said, "Oh yes, but not with very successful results."  Akhtar, who along with former writing partner Salim Khan, is known as one of the most successful screenwriters in Hindi cinema, has had a multifaceted career that includes Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Don, Trishul and Mr India.  Salim-Javed, as they came to be known, are credited with creating the 'Angry Young Man' persona that became synonymous with the Bachchan movies of the 1970s.  Asked about the trend of '90s romantic heroes Shah Rukh and Salman Khan strapping on action boots in their recent films, Akhtar said, "There is a difference between an action hero and an angry young man. In fact, Deewar has only one fight. There was no action in Deewar. The angry young man is a man with angry feelings. The scenes were dramatic but there was no action per se."  The new phase of action heroes is wonderful as people are enjoying it, he added.  Akhtar said he isn't someone resting on his laurels.  "You know, thinking about 'What I am, what I'm not, what is my calibre and talent' is the shortest cut to a mental asylum. This kind of self-love and narcissistic quality is there to destroy your objectivity."  According to the lyricist, one should try and focus on their work and 'try to do it as intelligently as possible' rather than indulging in one's achievements.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: Actor Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy promoting his upcoming action thriller film 'Animal'. On Monday, team 'Animal' including Ranbir, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor headed to Hyderabad for a special event to promote their film where south superstar Mahesh Babu and ace director SS Rajamouli also joined the cast.
During the event, Mahesh Babu showered praises on Ranbir and called him the "best actor in India." At the event Mahesh Babu said, "I have told him this before also when I met him but I don't think he took me seriously. So today, on this stage, I'm saying that I'm a huge Ranbir Kapoor fan and in my opinion, he is the best actor in India." The 'RRR' director Rajamouli also declared Ranbir as his favorite actor, confidently stating, "Without hesitation, I'll tell you, my favorite actor is Ranbir Kapoor." He also playfully challenged him to choose between working with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and himself.
'Animal' is helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Recently, during the promotional event in Chennai, Ranbir opened up on why Sandeep Reddy Vanga's next directorial has been titled 'Animal'.  Ranbir said, "Once you see the film, you will understand." He elaborated on the reason and said, "I think the reason why Sandeep Reddy Vanga called this film Animal is because animal behaves out of instinct. They don't behave out of thought. So this character that I'm playing, he behaves out of instinct to protect his family. He is not thinking he is behaving out of instinct, he is impulsive, and I think that's where the title Animal came and once you see the film you'll realize that this film suits this title." Recently team 'Animal' unveiled the film's official trailer which received a massive response from the fans. The 3-minute-32-second trailer hinted that Ranbir's character had turned fierce because of his violent upbringing during his younger age. Ranbir's character is protective and obsessive about his father's love. He is seen threatening everybody who comes in the way of his love for his father.  Reportedly, the film has a duration of 3 hours and 21 minutes. 'Animal' is all set to hit the theatres on December 1 and will be released in 5 languages- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

I have seen him work hard for the party over the last several decades.' The prime minister added, 'He has also distinguished himself as a very good MLA, MP and minister. I pray for his long and healthy life in service of the people.'  A low-key leader, Nadda rose through the ranks since his days as a student leader in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and then the youth wing of the BJP, demonstrating a preference for avoiding groupism and sticking to the agenda of organisational discipline and efficiency as his responsibilities grew.

Nadda was a Cabinet minister in the first Modi government before taking over as the BJP's national president in 2020 from Amit Shah who, in turn, had joined the central government as home minister.  Shah, in his post, said Nadda is playing an important role in expanding the BJP and further strengthening it with his organisational skills and hard work.  The BJP is set to contest the Lok Sabha polls in 2024 with Nadda as its president.
