Hyderabad (The Hawk): On Sunday, the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) claims that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) activists attacked its padyatra in the Dharmapuri constituency.
At Katikanapalli, TRS men allegedly attempted to physically attack party activists and tore banners, posters, and party flags, according to YSRTP leaders.
The participants in the padyatra reported that the TRS approached them in a threatening manner, attempted to interrogate and physically abuse some of them, and then attacked the tents and banners.
"They warned us of grave repercussions. However, we maintained our composure and carried on with our mission," they claimed.
In a separate occasion, TRS activists caused disruptions during Sharmila's public address. They also attempted to disrupt the unveiling of the statue of the late Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the former chief minister.
Monday is the scheduled reveal date.
Sharmila blasted the wrongdoing and'sleazy' behaviour of 'KCR's paid henchman' in her address to the media.
"It is a matter of shame and humiliation that KCR and his comrades, who are well-versed in disorderly conduct, must employ these antisocial people to halt my padayatra and create dread.
"It is now abundantly evident that the foundation of the TRS administration has been gravely rocked by our unstoppable march, during which the four-billion Telangana people have unwaveringly supported us. This tyrannical administration must be overthrown and crushed by public outrage," she stated.
Sharmila made it plain that she would not be intimidated by these vile deeds, and the ruling party owed the people of Telangana an explanation for targeting a strong lady who was fighting for the state's cause.

Hyderabad (The Hawk): Tension arose during Y. S. Sharmila's padyatra in Warangal district on Monday after an alleged attack on her convoy by members of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) sparked her arrest by the police.
In Chennaraopeta mandal, police stopped Sharmila's padyatra and detained her along with the YSRTP officials and supporters who were travelling with her.
Members of the YSRTP attempted to thwart the arrests while yelling profanities at the police and the TRS administration. The situation was managed by the police with minimal force.
Sharmila, the sister of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, was detained after she is accused of making offensive remarks towards TRS MLA P. Sudershan Reddy.
Sharmila questioned the police about why they were holding her rather than the people who had attacked her bus.
YSRTP said that TRS party members attacked and set fire to the bus that Sharmila was using to take a break from her current Praja Prasthanam padayatra.
Additionally, the YSR Telangana Party officials' automobiles were vandalised by the mob. In the Chennaraopeta mandal of the Warangal district, close to the Lingagiri hamlet, the occurrence took place.
On the 223rd day of the padyatra, Sharmila was taking part when a group of men carrying signs supporting the TRS and praising KCR arrived at the stop and set fire to the caravan.
"Since 223 days ago, my party leaders and I have been leading a nonviolent padayatra to raise awareness of the suffering of different groups of people in Telangana. Growing public support has alarmed Chief Minister KCR and his party members, who are determined to stop me at all costs "She spoke.
It is extremely regrettable that some police officers are siding with the ruling party and impeding "our efforts to contact the people and voice their grievances," according to the daughter of the previous chief minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The Praja Prasthanam padayatra has travelled over 3,500 kilometres and 75 Assembly districts so far. So far, she has covered 4 Municipal Corporations, 61 Municipalities, and 1863 villages over 208 mandals.

Hyderabad (The Hawk): In order to protest the alleged attack by TRS supporters on her padyatra in Warangal district on Monday, YSRTP leader Y.S. Sharmila was driving to the Chief Minister's official residence on Tuesday when her car was hauled away by local police.
The leader of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) was driving the automobile as she made her way to Pragathi Bhavan in protest of the attack by the state's ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
She was stopped by police en route. The police hired a crane to tow the car with the YSRTP leader sitting in it away because Sharmila refused to get out of it.
Sharmila, the sister of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, was detained and taken to S.R. Nagar Police Station.
She resisted getting out of the car until they arrived at the police station. Police officers pried open the car door for her and dragged her into the police station.
Some YSRTP employees who arrived at the police station to hold the demonstration were detained in the meanwhile.
She was the subject of a case that was opened at Panjagutta Police Station. The case was filed under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 327, 333, and 353, which prohibit intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm on a public servant in order to prevent him from performing his official duties (voluntarily causing hurt to extort property, or to constrain to an illegal act)
As she was heading to the S.R. Nagar Police Station to visit Sharmila's mother, Y.S. Vijayamma, the police put her under house arrest.
Vijayamma was not permitted by the police to leave her Jubilee Hills home.
With the help of her followers, Vijayamma started a demonstration outside the house.
She criticised the way the cops treated her daughter. She claimed that the state administration was attempting to take away the democratic right of citizens to voice their concerns.
Sharmila led a protest march toward the chief minister's home in Begumpet with the help of her followers.
Police stopped them as they got to Raj Bhavan Road near Yashoda Hospital.
The YSRTP workers chanted anti-government slogans. Police stopped them as they attempted to move closer to the chief minister's mansion.
The padyatra bus that was stoned and set on fire by TRS activists on Monday was also part of the YSRTP's protest march.
When Sharmila was travelling through the area as part of her Praja Prasthanam Yatra, her Yatra bus and other vehicles were attacked in Narasmpet in the Warangal district.
The YSRTP claimed that TRS members attacked the Padayatra indiscriminately, stoned and set a bus on fire, used foul language, and tore down banners and party flags.
Later, the police detained Sharmila on the grounds that she had refused to stop the foot march despite their suggestion to do so given the hostile circumstances in the neighbourhood.
On Monday night, the police later moved the YSRTP leader to Hyderabad. She made it clear during a press conference that her yatra and the fight against the TRS crimes will continue.
Sharmila claimed that she will march for the 4-million Telangana residents who supported her and that she would not be intimidated by the "rowdies and rogues of TRS."
She started marching towards Pragati Bhavan to continue her protest in order to "get an explanation from KCR" and "find out if this is part of his governance that anyone who questioned his government's failings and tyranny had to be attacked and harmed."
Police also detained other party officials who participated in a protest at the party's office in Jubilee Hills.

Amaravati (The Hawk): The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which is preparing for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in 2024, said on Wednesday that its general secretary Nara Lokesh will begin a statewide padyatra on January 27.
Son of TDP leader and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, would travel 400 days and 4,000 kilometres from Kuppam to Ichchapuram.
It will be a cutting-edge platform for youth with the name "Yuva Galam." It's a campaign to get young people involved in setting the agenda and to speak up for what they believe in and what they want changed.
Many young people have been participating in the TDP's ongoing Idhem Kharma Mana Rashtraniki campaign and bringing up issues in the state that they otherwise would not have.
With this walkathon serving as a forum for our young and others to unite, speak out, and fight for what they deserve, the TDP had now charged Nara Lokesh with organising it.
Lokesh would connect with individuals from various societal groups during the padyatra, according to TDP's Andhra Pradesh unit president K. Acchannaidu, in order to learn about their issues.
The march will start at Kuppam, the Chittoor Assembly district that Chandrababu Naidu represents.
The route map will shortly be made public.
The TDP claims that Andhra Pradesh has suffered during the past three and a half years of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leadership.
"One suicide occurs every four days as a result of unemployment. Our state has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation with over 1.5 crore unemployed individuals. We are topping the country's statistics for paying the highest prices for gasoline and diesel due to the growing cost of fuel. Every eight hours for the past 3.5 years, a lady in the state has been the victim of atrocities, according to a note the party distributed to celebrate the announcement of the padyatra.
"The state's youth's future is at a crossroads due to stalled development and a lack of investments. Only 12% of the state's MPs are under the age of 40, despite the fact that youth make up over 50% of the state's population. Certainly, when it comes to crime rates and drug and alcohol misuse, we are at the top. It said, "This is not what our people deserve.
Yuva Galam, according to the opposition party, is a Nara Lokesh mass outreach initiative with the aim of educating young people and voters about pressing concerns in present governance and engaging them in conversation while visiting 100 Assembly districts in the state.
The Yuva Galam is a chance for young people and others to attend the yatra, join the voices of the youth community, and expand their networks with influential people in the state.

Visakhapatnam: A delegation of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders on Monday met Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer to complain about the “illegal” arrest of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.  The delegation led by TDP’s Andhra Pradesh unit president K. Atchannaidu called on the Governor who is currently on a visit to Visakhapatnam.  The opposition party complained to him about Naidu’s arrest, subsequent developments and the police highhandedness towards TDP leaders and workers.  Later, Atchannaidu said Nazeer told them that he is observing the developments in the state.  The TDP leader further said that the Governor expressed his surprise over the developments as he was not informed about the arrest.  Naidu was arrested by the state’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) on September 9 in an alleged skill development scam.  A Vijayawada court on Sunday sent him to judicial custody for 14 days and in the early hours of Monday, the TDP chief was shifted to the Rajahmundry Central Jail.  Meanwhile, Atchannaidu reiterated that Naidu was implicated and arrested in a false case due to political vendetta.  He asked the state’s ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) if the corruption was not visible to it for four years.  According to him, pre-poll surveys indicate that TDP will win 15 Lok Sabha seats on its own in the 2024 elections.  “The surveys also show that if TDP contests the elections in alliance with the Jana Sena Party, the YSRCP will be wiped out,” he said.  The TDP leader claimed that I-PAC survey revealed that YSRCP is heading for a defeat.  Slammed the ruling party for deliberately sending Naidu to jail, Atchannaidu alleged that Chief Minister Y. S Jagan Mohan Reddy drew sadistic pleasure by forcing the TDP supremo to travel by road for 48 hours.  He, however, said nobody can break the former Chief Minister’s willpower.  Atchannaidu alleged that by arresting Naidu, YSRCP tried to disrupt Lokesh’s padyatra.  He, however, said crises are not new for the TDP and it emerged stronger from every crisis.

TDP complains to Andhra Governor against Chandrababu's arrest

Amaravati: Staging protest against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest, party legislators, took out a padyatra to state legislature on Thursday, the first day of the session.
After paying tributes to TDP founder and former chief minister N. T. Rama Rao at his statue at Venkatapalem, the TDP MLAs and MLCs left for the legislature building.
The legislators took out a padyatra from Thullur Police Station. Holding placards, they raised slogans condemning Naidu’s ‘illegal’ arrest in an alleged skill development case.
The legislators demanded that the YSRCP government apologise for the illegal arrest of the former chief minister. They said if the government failed to withdraw illegal cases, they would undertake a mass campaign.
TDP MLA and popular actor N. Balakrishna said they would take the issue of Naidu’s arrest to the people’s court. He claimed that people were with the TDP.
“The government was unable to see the huge public support TDP was getting and hence it resorted to illegal arrest,” said Balakrishna, who is also brother-in-law of Naidu.
Stating that the TDP is not scared by the arrests, Balakrishna said they would take the issue to the people’s court.
TDP’s Andhra Pradesh state unit president K. Atchannaidu said they would raise the issue of Naidu’s arrest in both houses of the state Legislature. He said they would press for debate on the adjournment motion to be moved on Naidu’s arrest.
The former chief minister was arrested by the CID on September 9 in an alleged skill development scam. He is currently under judicial custody.

Mumbai: Hundreds of citizens joined the ‘Amrit Kalash padyatra’ organised by the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation and the Central Industrial Security Force, under the Centre’s ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign to mark 75 years of Independence, here on Tuesday.  The yatra was taken out from Chembur’s Diamond Garden to the BMC M (W) Division and scores of people deposited soil in the ‘kalash’ (urn), raising nationalist slogans en route.
This urn shall later be sent to New Delhi for a national programme on ‘Amrit Kalash’ to be held next month, along with 7,500 such urns from all over India. BMC’s Commissioner IS Chahal said that the civic body was implementing the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign till October 27 in the city.  Today’s public event saw top BMC and CISF officials and scores of students from civic-run schools participating enthusiastically, marching in a parade to the beat of a band and then joining the gathering to take the pledge of ‘Panchprana’, along with the citizens present there.
On September 1, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the nationwide ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ in New Delhi with similar processions being held all over India. From September till October end, people from the remotest hamlets, villages, blocks, districts, towns, cities will collect soil/grain in the urns that will be taken to New Delhi for a mega-event scheduled late next month.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will place the soil collected from around the country at the Amrit Vatika as homage to the country’s brave heroes and martyrs to symbolise the country’s unity in diversity as it progresses towards the centenary of Independence on August 15, 2047.

Mumbai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday morning undertook the 'Nyay Sankalp Padyatra' from Mani Bhavan, the home of Mahatma Gandhi in south Mumbai.
His sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, along with Congress supporters joined the foot march which will continue till the August Kranti Maidan, where the Quit India movement started in 1942 during India’s struggle for independence from the British rule.  Members of some of the opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc constituents joined Rahul Gandhi in the padyatra.
On Saturday, the Congress MP concluded his 63-day-old 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' here by paying tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar at his memorial 'Chaityabhoomi' in central Mumbai and reading the Preamble of the Constitution.  The yatra, a mass outreach movement ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, had commenced from strife-torn Manipur on January 14.  The opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc will hold a rally here on Sunday evening in a show of strength. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and SP chief Akhilesh are scheduled to take part in the event.
