Chennai (The Hawk): After a witness in a case involving bomb blasts in Karnataka was threatened with terrible consequences if he testified against the defendants, the elite "Q" branch of the Tamil Nadu Police and central intelligence agencies were put on high alert.
K. Aruchamy, who owned a pet store in R.S. Puram in Coimbatore, was present when an explosion occurred in Malleswaram, Karnataka, in 2013. Aruchamy has already filed a police report in Tamil Nadu alleging that Rashid approached him and threatened him with terrible repercussions if he testified in court against the accused.
Islamic extremists, Kitchen Buhari, Police Fakruddin, Panna Ismail, Valayil Hakkim, and Sait are among those charged in the case. They were associated with a number of Islamic organisations that slipped the intelligence community's notice.
After testifying in court in Karnataka on Tuesday, Aruchamy filed a case with the Coimbatore police. Rahamathullah was identified as the defendant by the police inquiry, who charged him with violating Section 506. (i).
The "Q" branch police have started looking into whether Islamists have also been threatening the witnesses in cases that have been filed in Tamil Nadu. It should be remembered that there are several cases of murder, arson, wounding people, and attacking stores and establishments registered in Tamil Nadu, and many people have testified as witnesses before the police and court.
The central agencies have also started to look into whether similar incidents have occurred before and whether anyone has backed out of testifying in court as a witness in situations involving attacks by the Islamists.
After Jameesha Mubin, a 29-year-old young woman, was killed in a Coimbatore automobile explosion on October 23, Diwali eve. Following an inquiry, the authorities discovered that Mubin was planning a lone wolf assault. His inexperience with handling bombs had actually saved many lives as his automobile exploded well in advance of his intended target.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand): The first-ever Orchid Diversity Survey at Corbett Tiger Reserve revealed a rich treasure house of colourful orchids. The survey was conducted by the Research Wing of the Uttarakhand Forest in Corbett Tiger Reserve from 2020 to August 2023. This project was approved by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC), headed by HoFF, Uttarakhand in 2020.  Chief Conservator of Forests (Research), Sanjiv Chaturvedi said, "Survey has revealed that Corbett Tiger Reserve has a rich orchid diversity. It has shown existence of 31 orchid species, representing 23 genera within the Orchidaceae family. Among these species, 11 are terrestrial, two are saprophytic, and 18 are epiphytic”. 
Orchid species hold a unique and vital place in the world of plants, captivating both scientists and enthusiasts alike. Their importance extends far beyond their aesthetic beauty, as these remarkable plants play a crucial role in various ecological, economic, and cultural aspects. They are very valuable and highly threatened and therefore, protected under schedules of Wildlife Protection Act 1972 as well as under CITES. The study has revealed the existence of important threatened species, like Phaius tankervilleae, also known as Red Cane Orchid or Nun’s Orchid, and Pecteilis gigantean, known as the Butterfly Orchid. Both these species have already been declared as a threatened species by the State Biodiversity Board. Furthermore, the research has identified Eulophia flava (Yellow Eulophia), Eulophia explanata (Flattened Eulophia), Cymbidium macrorhizon (Large Root Cymbidium) and Epipogium roseum (Rosy Ghost Orchid), as rare species documented during the study. The finding of Eulophia explanata is a significant event, which is discovered after 36 36-year gap in Uttarakhand state. The study's findings underscore the significance of Sal (Shorea robusta) as the foremost favoured host plant among epiphytic orchid species within the reserve area. Another significant species was Checkered Vanda which is a very significant medicinal orchid used in ‘Ayurvedic shamans’ and in the Tantric cult. 
Sanjiv Chaturvedi further said, "The Study's findings would be invaluable for shaping a conservation strategy dedicated to orchid species. These orchids may turn out to be a major tourist attraction also in future." The survey team consisted of four young JRF of the Research Wing- Manoj Singh, Jyoti Prakash Joshi, Kiran Bisht and Tanuja Pandey.&nbsp;

Bengaluru (Karnataka): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah along with many other cabinet ministers received a threat e-mail on Tuesday. The threats, was specifically sent to prominent figures including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and the state Home Minister G Parameshwara.
The email was sent by a person using the email address Shahidkhan10786@protonmail.com. "What are your thoughts on the movie trailer? If you don't provide us with 2.5 million dollars, we will cause large explosions on buses, trains, temples, hotels and public areas throughout Karnataka," the mail read. "We want to show you one more trailer. We are going to explode the next one in the Ambari Utsav bus. After the Ambari Utsav bus blast, we will raise our demands on social media. And will upload screenshots of the mail sent to you on social media. We will tweet information about the next explosion," it stated. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru City Crime Branch police have registered the case. Earlier, the Karnataka Police arrested one person named Mohammed Rasool Kaddare for posting a video on social media in which he threatened to kill PM Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The arrest was made after an FIR was registered in Surpur police station in Karnataka's Yadgiri. The accused was booked under sections 505(1)(b), 25(1)(b) of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act at Yadgiri's Surpur police station. "Rasool, who made a selfie video on his mobile phone, abused Prime Minister Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath with unintelligible words," the police said. Speaking on the incident, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and senior advocate Nalin Kohli said that such elements have suddenly started coming up in Karnataka who want to say "Pakistan Zindabad", who issue life threats to PM Modi and who are planting bombs in a restaurant. "This shows that such elements have suddenly started coming up in Karnataka who want to say "Pakistan Zindabad", who issue life threats to PM Modi and who are planting bombs in a restaurant.
