Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate 66 projects during the sixth edition of Deepotsava celebrations focusing on urban development, transport, housing and urban planning, public works, tourism and dairy development.
"The much eagerly awaited Deepotsava festivities in Ayodhya will not stall the proposed developmental works in the holy city as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to inaugurate 66 projects during the period," a government official's statement said on Thursday.
Prominent among the projects to be inaugurated is Phase 3 of the drinking water scheme of the Urban Development Department. "Clean drinking water will be provided to the people of municipal corporation area through this scheme to be implemented at the cost of Rs 5,456.62 lakh," it said. CM will also inaugurate the construction of a driving training institute at the cost of Rs 856.84 crore. "Yogi Government will also build Queen Ho Memorial Park at the cost of Rs 2,192.03 lakh. The scheme of the Tourism department is one of the important schemes of the Yogi government. Furthermore, the Yogi Government will develop Hanuman Kund and Svardkhani Kund at the cost of Rs 145.44 lakh and Rs 106.45 lakh respectively as part of its commitment to develop ponds of the state," it read.
The Government also proposes to build an auditorium with a capacity of 216 people at the cost of Rs 488.97 lakh.
Besides, CM Yogi will inaugurate Nagar Panchayat buildings at Bhawan Kumar Ganj and Khironi Suchitaganj on the occasion of Deepotsava.
Meanwhile, Adityanath reached Ayodhya on Wednesday to take stock of the final stage of preparations for the sixth edition of Deepotsava celebrations to be held on the eve of Diwali in the holy city on October 23, and also gave necessary instructions to the officials concerned in this regard.
Deepotsava, a festival started by Chief Minister Yogi in 2017, has been growing in terms of the grandeur of celebrations every year making it quite a spectacle not only for people within the country but also abroad, it will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time this year, according to a press
Preparations are on to decorate every intersection in Ayodhya with 'Rangoli' and diyas and to introduce the world to India's rich and colourful Sanatan culture and traditions. Furthermore, CM Yogi reviewed the progress in the construction works of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya on Wednesday. He also visited Ramlala and Hanumangarhi and prayed for the state's prosperity. As per the statement, the Chief Minister also visited Raj Sadan where he met Raja Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra and discussed his arrangements for the royal reception and co-banquet of foreign guests during Deepotsava. —ANI

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh will aim for the sixth Guinness World Record by lighting 24 lakh earthen diyas on Deepotsav this year on November 11 on the 47 ghats of Ayodhya, including the Ram Ki Paidi.  To achieve this feat, 25,000 volunteers of Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Ayodhya, and its affiliate colleges, will be roped in by the Ayodhya administration, said officials.  The BJP government has been organising Deepotsav in Ayodhya after it came to power in the state in 2017.
Vice-chancellor of Awadh University, Prof Pratibha Goyal, has directed principals of degree colleges of Ayodhya to finalise the list of volunteers by September 30.  This year’s Deepotsav will be special as the construction of Ram temple is in full swing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the grand opening ceremony of the temple in Ayodhya in January.  —IANS

Bhilwara (Rajashtan): On Tuesday, a massive turnout of crowds greeted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as people gathered on rooftops and at rallies to watch and listen to him. CM Yogi was in Rajasthan, seeking votes for BJP in the upcoming elections. The Bhilwara rally of Yogi Adityanath, especially, attracted an impressive gathering of over 50,000 people. The chants of "Bulldozer Baba," "Yogi-Yogi," and "Dekho-Dekho Sher Aaya" echoed through various rallies. Throughout the day, the Chief Minister conducted five rallies, actively campaigning and urging support for BJP candidates. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his address, highlighted the emergence of the mafia, which has hindered development in the state over the last five years. He contrasted this with the situation in Uttar Pradesh, where he stated that those inciting riots have faced consequences. "Uttar Pradesh ke dangayi narak lok ki yatra par gaye hain. Ab unhein manushya lok nahi milne wala (UP's rioters have gone on a journey to hell. They will never come to the human world again)," he remarked. While addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Banshilal Katara in Dungarpur, Chief Minister Yogi highlighted the transformative impact of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. He noted the significant illumination of Ayodhya with the lighting of lakhs of lamps during the Deepotsav celebrations year after year since the BJP came to power. Contrasting it with the state of affairs in Rajasthan, Yogi expressed concern over the plight of the people of the state in the past five years, emphasizing the state's previous trajectory of development under the leadership of the double-engine government. CM Yogi pointed out that Rajasthan now faces challenges, including the burden of the highest electricity, petrol, and diesel prices. He shared the international acclaim received by Prime Minister Modi, who is welcomed with great respect during his visits abroad. "This is the honor of 142 crore Indians. Now the hideouts of terrorists and their masters are being destroyed. Curfew-riots are the identity of Congress." Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while urging the public to support BJP candidate Narpat Singh Rajvi in Chittorgarh, instilled pride in the rich heritage of Chittorgarh and Mewar. "This land has a history of bravery and valor for hundreds of years." During his address, CM Yogi fondly remembered iconic figures such as Maharana Pratap, Maharana Sanga, Panna Dhay, Maharani Padmini, and Mirabai. He also discussed Udaysagar Lake. "Even a horse like Chetak had developed the qualities of divinity," he said. Chittorgarh Fort, visible from the venue, was also discussed. Stating that the mafia is a barrier to development, the CM further said that with strong willpower, these entities can be eradicated. Many types of mafias have emerged in Rajasthan, but the rioters of Uttar Pradesh have gone on a journey to hell, he remarked. Looking toward the future, Chief Minister Yogi expressed confidence that the formation of a double engine government will put an end to mafia rule in Rajasthan, paving the way for progress and development in the state. Addressing a public meeting in the Shahpura Assembly, Yogi appealed to people to make Lalaram Bairwa victorious and form a double-engine government. He expressed confidence that a party blessed by revered saints would undoubtedly emerge victorious. Highlighting the issues in the area, he addressed concerns about potholed roads and criticized the government's performance on various aspects. "Not just in terms of economic progress, faith, poor welfare, tourism, but the government here is at number one in corruption and crime." CM Yogi drew attention to the prevalence of curfews in the region and contrasted this with Prime Minister Modi's initiatives, such as providing pure drinking water from taps in every household. He highlighted the success of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme for the fourth consecutive year, emphasizing the BJP's commitment to addressing agricultural issues. CM Yogi sought votes for Vitthalshankar Awasthi from Bhilwara, Ladulal Pitalia from Sahada, and Udaylal Bhadana from Mandal. He criticised the Congress government for pushing farmers to commit suicide and youths to migrate from the state. CM Yogi also highlighted the issue of leaked exam papers, implicating the Congress in corruption. Drawing a comparison, he credited Prime Minister Modi for effectively combating corruption through initiatives like Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Digital India. Underlining India's economic progress, CM Yogi contrasted the country's standing during the Congress era, where it was considered the tenth to twelfth economy, with the present scenario. He noted that under Modi's leadership, India has emerged as a robust economy valued at around four trillion dollars and has ascended to the position of the fifth-largest economy during the year of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. CM Yogi expressed optimism that India is poised to become the third-largest economy soon, emphasizing that increased national wealth will lead to a rise in per capita income, a goal being pursued under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sought public support for BJP's Krishna Gopal Paliwal from the Mavli assembly constituency and Udaylal Dangi from Vallabh Nagar. He said that Ayodhya is the second home for the people of Mewar; "hence, you should come to see Ramlala after January 22." Yogi Adityanath criticized the Congress, alleging a lack of vision for development, which, according to him, has resulted in a deficit of security and progress in Rajasthan. Lucknow: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has launched a drive to exhort people to light at least five earthen lamps (diyas) outside their homes on Ram temple consecration day on January 22. Each diya would symbolise the “wait of 100 years” for the temple which is scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “This time Ram is coming back to his home after 500 years. It is just like the time when he returned to Ayodhya after spending 14 years in exile in Treta Yug,” said VHP national secretary general Milind Parande. He said the VHP will reach out to crores of families in at least 5 lakh villages and cities of the country to convey the message of lighting diyas. The drive is being carried alongside the 15-day ‘akshat’ (sacred rice) distribution campaign which started on January 1 in which the VHP cadres are urging people to hold special puja in nearby temples during the consecration ceremony. The exercise would be a recapitulation of what was done in Ayodhya during Diwali last year in November, when the Yogi Adityanath government organised a ‘Deepotsav’ in which over 21 lakh earthen lamps were lit on the ghats of Saryu and Ram in Paidi. VHP too had steered a drive in the temple town to light five lamps for the upcoming Ram temple. The campaign had attained significance as it was the last Diwali before the grand opening of the Ram temple. VHP spokesperson in Ayodhya, Sharad Sharma said: “Every temple and household in Ayodhya had lit up earthen lamps in Diwali to signify the coming of Ram Temple. We hope to see the same happening across the country on the day of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla.” He said VHP plans to scale up the campaign at the global level. “We will help Ram Bhakts in over 50 countries, including the US, Australia and the UK, in holding prayers at the temples and lighting up diyas to celebrate the occasion,” he said, adding that the ceremonies conducted abroad will match the time zone in India. Sources said VHP cadres will reach out to Dalits and other socio-economic sections to ensure their participation in the diya lighting campaign. —IANS

Nainital: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday participated in a cleanliness drive at Kainchi Dham in Nainital as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s campaign at religious places ahead of the Ayodhya's Ram temple inauguration. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said "Our Lord Ram is going to be seated at his birthplace on 22 January. The entire country is filled with joy due to the fortnight of cleanliness, Deepotsav and Ram Bhajan. Everybody is excited and happy that the wait for the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla will finally be over " Highlighting the cleanliness campaign started in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "We are starting the cleanliness campaign from Baba Neem Karoli Dham today. This drive will be run at all the religious public places in the state." Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that cleanliness was made a priority in the year 2024. Similar cleanliness drives were organised in other parts of the country ahead of the grand 'Pran Pratishtha' event at Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda, the BJP conducted a cleanliness campaign in Delhi on Sunday as part of the Swachchata Abhiyan campaign. BJP national spokesperson Prem Shukla while addressing a press conference in the national capital on Saturday said, "With Prime Minister Narendra Modi's concept of 'Ayodhya mai Virajege Shri Ram, Swach honge sabhi mandir aur Dhaam', (Ram is coming to Ayodhya, all temples and places of worship will be cleaned) his (PM Modi) dedication to cleanliness is known to all." "As per the instructions of JP Nadda, the cleanliness campaign will commence on January 14 and will conclude on January 22. Under this, a special cleanliness campaign will be run on all the temple premises in which party ministers and workers themselves will motivate the public by cleaning the temples. Everyone will devote an average of 2-3 hours every day to cleanliness." Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also cleaned the premises of the Kalaram Temple in Maharashtra's Nashik on 12 January. He appealed to the people to carry out Swachhata activities (cleanliness drives) at temples across the country ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. —ANI
