New Delhi: On Sunday, just before the start of the second phase of the Budget session, Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar met with leaders of various political parties to gather their thoughts on how to reduce disruptions in the House.
Members of the opposition brought up the appointment of Dhankhar's personal employees to parliamentary committees, as well as the alleged exploitation of central agencies against non-BJP governments.
The subject of whether or not members can have a "free fall of knowledge" in the name of free speech in the House as intended in Article 105 of the Constitution was reportedly the main topic of Vice President Dhankhar's engagement with floor leaders.—Inputs from Agencies
