The girl later went missing. A missing complaint was lodged at the Bassi Police Station. The body was found on Friday in the well five kilometers away from the residence. “The accused is being interrogated after registering a case against him under sections of IPC, POCSO Act, SC/ST Act and the Juvenile Justice Act. Rape can be confirmed only after getting the post-mortem report,” SHO Bassi Ganpat Singh said.—PTI

They allegedly took the victim to an isolated place and committed the crime. On the information given by the locals, police rushed to the scene of the crime and sent the victim for medical examination. Based on a complaint by the victim, the police later arrested the accused.—IANS

Amit Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, constituted a special team to crack the case, they said. After strenuous efforts, the team succeeded in arresting the accused, identified as Vishal Kumar, the officials said. The SSP said the case will be investigated thoroughly and a chargesheet against the accused will be produced in the court within a stipulated time. The victim, who lives in East Delhi’s Shakurpur, had been looking for a job for a long time.She searched on the internet and found an opening at the furniture showroom in CR Park. She applied for the job online and was called for an interview.In the FIR, the victim alleged that when she reached the showroom, she was raped by the owner. The victim later on approached the Delhi Police, after which she was taken to a nearby government hospital where rape was established in her medical examination. The police then lodged the FIR.—IANS

Hyderabad: A police case has been registered against five minors for allegedly gang-raping a teenage girl in Hyderabad last week. The matter came to light after the minor girl's father submitted a complaint with the police regarding the incident that took place under the Jubilee Hills police station limits on May 28. The case was registered under Sections 354 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 9 read with 10 of the POCSO Act. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Joel Davis said that the accused have not been identified so far."The rape case was registered based on the complaint of the victim's father. Subsequently, after the victim's statement, we altered the sections and added sections 9 and 10 of the POCSO Act. Around 5 accused are involved," Davis told ANI over the phone."She is not in a position to identify the accused, so we are in the process of identifying the accused zeroing through other technical details. Prima facie, accused are also juvenile," he added. According to the complainant, on May 28, his daughter went to a party at a pub in Jubilee Hills which was hosted by her friends."At about 5.30 pm, she was taken out of the pub by a few guys in a car. Later, they misbehaved with my daughter and assaulted her, she has minor injuries on her neck. Since then my daughter is in deep shock and unable to disclose the things exactly," read the complaint.—ANI

Hyderabad: &nbsp;A teenage girl who visited a pub here five days ago for a daytime party was allegedly gang-raped by five people, including three juveniles, police said on Friday.The father of the 17-year-old girl lodged a police complaint on May 31 stating that she might have been molested but she could not disclose what happened as she was in a state of shock, they said.Addressing a press conference on Friday night, Deputy Commissioner of Police Joel Davis said a case on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and under relevant sections of the POCSO Act was registered after the girl's father complained.The girl was sent to a 'Bharosa' support centre for women and children of the city police as she is a minor.Women personnel of the centre comforted her and a statement was recorded, Davis said.Based on the girl's statement, the case was altered by invoking IPC section 376D (gang rape) and other relevant sections of the POCSO Act, the official said, adding that she could not identify the accused as they were not known to her.Investigation teams have collected and analysed CCTV footage and other evidence, and have identified five people, he said.An 18-year-old accused was arrested on Friday, the police official said.Prima facie, the police have evidence against three juveniles and another 18-year-old person, Davis said.Police teams are on the job of apprehending the other accused, and they will be apprehended within 48 hours, he said.A juvenile allegedly involved in the case could not be apprehended as it was night time. He will be picked up during daytime on Saturday, the official said.One of the juveniles is the son of a prominent person, he added.Replying to a query, the police official said the son of an MLA was not among the five accused as per available evidence.The investigation would continue and further action would be taken accordingly, he said.The issue assumed political colour, with the opposition BJP alleging the involvement of ruling TRS and AIMIM leaders in the matter and taking exception to an alleged delay in arresting the accused.Raising slogans against the police and others, BJP activists held a dharna at the Jubilee Hills police station in the city, demanding expeditious action.TRS working president and state minister K T Rama Rao expressed shock over the news of rape of the minor and urged Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and the police to take immediate and stern action in the matter."Outraged &amp; shocked with the news of the rape of a minor in Hyderabad. The girl, resident of a village in Pahadi police station area, was allegedly gang-raped on Wednesday night, when she was sleeping with her family members outside her house.She was rushed to a hospital in Kaushambi district, where she died on Thursday night. Pahadi police station SHO Ajit Pandey confirmed the details in the autopsy report.Three people Nadeem, Adarsh Pandey and Vipul Mishra have already been arrested in this connection.According to police sources, the accused had also accompanied the girl's family members to the hospital.They said CCTV footage is being checked.—PTI

According to the preliminary report, the victim was found on the bus in a semi-conscious state. Police also recorded the victim's statement in which she alleged that the driver and his accomplice offered her a cold drink which contained a pill. After consuming the cold drink, it made her unconscious and the accused gang-raped the minor girl, according to police citing the victim's statement. "Three people were accused of allegedly raping a minor girl inside a bus in Bettiah, West Champaran district. The girl was found on the bus in a semi-conscious state," Mukul Pandey, Bettiah Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) told ANI.Out of the three accused, two persons have been arrested by the police in connection with the rape case. "The bus has been seized, the driver and helper of the bus have been arrested," Pandey added. Further, police sent the girl for medical examination and the two arrested accused are being interrogated. In the 2012 gangrape case, a 23-year-old physiotherapy student was gang-raped and brutally assaulted in New Delhi. She later succumbed to her injuries, igniting widespread outrage and protests across the country. Six people were involved in the case. The main accused, Ram Singh, allegedly committed suicide in Tihar Jail during the trial. Another accused was a minor at the time of the commission of the crime and was sent to a reform facility and released after three years. While four convicts in the case-- Vinay, Akshay, Pawan, and Mukesh were convicted and sentenced to death for the crime.—ANI
