Chennai: Tamil Nadu Police on Monday arrested noted YouTuber Karthik Gopinath for collecting money from the public on the pretext of renovating a temple in Perambalur district. Karthik was running a YouTube Channel ‘Elaya Bharatham’. He was produced before a Judicial magistrate court which remanded him in judicial custody.According to Avadi Police Commissioner, Karthik had through his YouTube channel requested public to donate funds through a fundraiser site for the renovation of statues in the Arulmigu Madhura Kaliamman temple in Siruvachar, Perambalur district. When it was brought to the temple authorities’ notice, they complained to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR&amp;CE) officials about the request made by Karthik Gopinath without taking permission from them. The HR&amp;CE officials lodged a police complaint and the YouTuber was arrested and produced before the Judicial magistrate court. Police said that Gopinath had used the collected money for his personal use.—IANS

New Delhi: "It has come to the notice of the ministry that an inappropriate and derogatory advertisement of a deodorant is circulating on social media. The Ministry has asked Twitter and YouTube to immediately pull down all instances of this advertisement," the ministry tweeted, attaching the email it has sent to the platforms. Also, the TV channel on which it appeared has already pulled it down on directions of the broadcasting ministry, another tweet said. The move by the ministry came after the advertising body Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) found the advertisements going against the existing codes.The ministry found that the ads violate the Rule 3(1)(b)(ii) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021, and are detrimental to the portrayal of women in the interest of decency or morality.The video has been watched around a million times and has been shared in other social media platforms, the ministry said in the email to the platforms."The ad is in serious breach of the ASCI Code and is against public interest. We have taken immediate action and notified the advertiser to suspend the ad, pending investigation," the email said. The ad was brought into the notice of ASCI via Twitter by some viewers on Friday, as per a report.—IANS

He broke the previous record of 23, which was set by Armenian serial record breaker Roman Sahradyan.However, the Youtuber’s record was short-lived as Stan Bruininck, who is a specialist in callisthenics, surpassed it with 25 pull-ups in one minute.A video of this record-breaking achievement has been shared by Guinness World Records on their YouTube handle.“The boys from @Browney compete to see who can do the most pull-ups from a helicopter in one minute. Dehradun: YouTuber Bobby Kataria is soon to be arrested by Uttarakhand Police for drinking alcohol and threatening the police while sitting on a chair and stopping traffic in the middle of the road in the state capital Dehradun.
A case was registered under sections 342, 336, 290 and 510 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 67 IT Act.
Cantt Police Station in the capital city has obtained a non-bailable warrant against Kataria from the District Court.
SHO Rajendra Singh Rawat on Thursday said the police obtained a non-bailable warrant against the accused.
He told ANI that teams of Cantt Police are being sent to Haryana and its other locations for his arrest. Kataria was in the news after he was allegedly found to be smoking inside a SpiceJet flight that surfaced on the internet.
The airline later said that the action was taken as the passenger was put on a no-flying list by the airline for 15 days in February 2022.
However, the accused social media influencer Balvinder Kataria alias Bobby Kataria claimed that it was a dummy plane and it was a part of his shooting in Dubai.
"The video in which I was seen smoking is not a normal aeroplane, it was a dummy plane and that was a part of my shooting in Dubai. Taking lighter inside the plane is not allowed," said Kataria.
In the video, Kataria was seen lying down on the aircraft seat and lighting a cigarette and taking a couple of puffs.
In a statement SpiceJet said, the matter had been investigated thoroughly in January 2022 when the video was brought to our notice and a complaint had been filed by the airline with the Udyog Vihar police station in Gurugram.
The matter came to the airline's notice on January 24, 2022, through social media posts.
Defending himself, Kataria said that the video in question is an old video shot in Dubai.
"The video in which I was seen smoking is not a normal airplane, it was a dummy plane and that was a part of my shooting in Dubai. I want to ask everyone; how can a lighter make its way into an airplane? It would be detected by a scanner. A cigarette still one can carry, but not a lighter. It was shot in 2019 or 2020," Kataria had said. —ANI

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha forest department officials have arrested a 31-year-old YouTuber in Karanjula village of Sambalpur district for illegally possessing six snakes, including cobras and four chameleons, an official said on Wednesday.
The accused was identified as Ramchandra Rana from the Redakhole area of the western Odisha district. He used to make videos with the snakes, chameleons and other reptiles and wild animals to attract viewers. He has more than one lakh subscribers on his YouTube channel-- Ramchandra rana.
Speaking to the mediapersons, Rana has confessed to his crime and said he caught these species from different places during this rainy season. Rana claimed that he used to release such species after making a few videos for his YouTube channel. However, he denied his involvement in the wild animal trade racket.
 After getting information, the forest officials rescued the snakes and chameleons and arrested the youth.
"We have apprehended the youth, who has a YouTube channel with over 1 lakh subscribers. When we asked, he took us to his house, where we rescued six snakes including three cobras and four chameleons," said Manu Ashok Bhat, assistant conservator of forest (ACF), Sadar Range, Jujumara.
As both the animals have been categorized as Schedule-II under Wildlife Protection Act 1972, it is illegal to keep them in house or hunt them, he said, adding that further investigation was on to know whether the youth was involved in wildlife trade racket or not.
The channel violates the IT Act 2000. So, the forest department officials asked YouTube for deletion and appropriate action at their end, sources said.&nbsp;

Uttarakhand Police also raided Kataria's house in Haryana's Gurugram to arrest him but he is on the run continuously. Following that, a reward of Rs 25,000 has been declared on the accused Bobby Kataria, he added.
It is worth noting that in a video circulated on social media, a person named Bobby Kataria, while obstructed the traffic by putting a chair table on the middle road on Mussoorie Kimadi Marg and consuming alcohol in a public place. He also rashly drove a motorcycle in an intoxicated condition. A case under section 342/336/290/510 IPC and 67 IT Act has been registered against Bobby Kataria at the police station Cantt.

San Francisco: The Apple Watch Ultra has been tested by a YouTuber who dropped it, subjected it to a jar of nails, and repeatedly smashed it with a hammer to see how durable the sapphire crystal protecting the display is.
According to MacRumors, TechRax, a channel popular for testing the durability of products, first tested the Apple Watch Ultra by dropping it from around four feet high.&nbsp;
The Apple Watch Ultra was left mostly unscuffed, aside from minor dents along the titanium casing. Next, the Apple Watch Ultra was mixed around in a jar of nails and was once again left with no visible marks.
TechRax also tested the durability of the Apple Watch Ultra's sapphire crystal display cover by repeatedly hitting it with a hammer.
In the test, the watch withstood repeated hits with the hammer until it finally cracked, and only after the table took some damage first.
While the Apple Watch Ultra's display did not initially take damage, the watch did fail to turn on after repeated hits.
The failure to power on could indicate that while the sapphire may not have broken at first, some internal components may have suffered damage.

Dehradun (The Hawk): YouTuber Bobby Kataria was on Friday granted bail after he surrendered in a local court here in a public drinking case, having been on the run for nearly two months.
A video of Kataria consuming liquor in the middle of a road in Uttarakhand had gone viral on social media.
The court of ACJM II Sanjay Kumar granted bail to Kataria after he furnished a personal bond of Rs 25,000. Kataria, who lives in Gurugram, came to court with a battery of lawyers from Delhi. A video of Kataria in which he was seen sitting in a small chair in the middle of a road and drinking liquor in full public view while a song played in the background had gone viral in August.
He was booked under sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 336 (act which endangers human life or the personal safety of others), 290 (public nuisance) and 510 (misconduct in public by a drunken person) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 of the IT Act after the video evoked strong reactions on social media. —PTI

San Francisco: Google has rolled out 'My Ad Center' to control the advertisement users see.
Users all across the world will soon be able to utilise Ad Center to manage the types of advertisements they see on Google Search, YouTube, and Discover, the company said in a blogpost.
The Center is designed to give users more control over their advertisement experience on the company's sites and apps.
"Imagine you spent months researching your latest beach trip, and now that you're back, you don't want to see vacation ads. With My Ad Center, you can just tap on the three-dot menu next to a vacation ad and choose to see less of those types of ads," the company said.
Users can choose to see more of the brands and topics they like and less of the ones they do not like. They can also fully disable the personalisation of advertising but they will still see advertisements.
If users choose not to see personalised advertisements, then they might find them less helpful or relevant.
Additionally, there can be certain ad themes that users do not want to interact with at all. They can choose to limit ads for items like alcohol, dating, weight loss, gambling, pregnancy, and parenting using My Ad Center, the company said.&nbsp;

The new feature makes the live streams more interactive, the company said in a blogpost.
The feature allows users to create and manage Q&amp;A sessions in live chat during their streams and premieres by using 'Live Control Room' (LCR).
With 'Live Q&amp;A', users can easily build a community while responding to a number of important questions asked by their viewers.
The new feature is present alongside 'Live Polls', another way for the users to interact with their live stream's viewers.
The questions submitted by the new feature are managed by the same systems that allow users to moderate live chat.
It means that the users can block words, hold for review, and report questions.
Users with 'Manager' or 'Editor' channel permissions will be able to manage the questions list which includes, "viewing the questions list, selecting questions to answer, removing questions from the list", and much more.
'Moderators' are not allowed to manage questions in Live Q&amp;As.
The earlier questions submitted are displayed at the top of the chronological list of questions, the platform said.
There is no limit to the number of questions, however, the oldest ones on the list will disappear after 200 questions.&nbsp;

New Delhi: Multiple YouTube videos sharing the first episode of the BBC documentary "India: The Modi Question" have been blocked as per the directions issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, sources said on Saturday.
Along with YouTube videos, the Centre has also directed Twitter to block over 50 tweets containing links to the concerned YouTube videos.
Both YouTube and Twitter complied with the government after directions were reportedly issued by Secretary, Information and Broadcasting on Friday using the emergency powers under the IT Rules, 2021.
UK's National broadcaster British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired a two-part series attacking PM Modi's tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister during the Gujarat riots of 2002. The documentary sparked outrage and was removed from select platforms.
On Thursday, India denounced the controversial BBC documentary series on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described it as a "propaganda piece" that is designed to push a discredited narrative.
"We think this is a propaganda piece designed to push a particular discredited narrative. The bias and the lack of objectivity and frankly continuing colonial mindset are blatantly visible," said External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi during a weekly media briefing. Even though the documentary was not made available in India by BBC in India, some YouTube channels appear to have uploaded it to promote an anti-India agenda.
Sources said that YouTube has also been instructed to block the video if it is again uploaded on its platform.
They added Twitter has also been directed to identify and block the tweets containing the link to the video on other platforms. This decision was made after top government officials from across several ministries examined the documentary and found it to be an attempt to cast aspersions on the authority and credibility of the Supreme Court of India and sow divisions among various Indian communities. The sources added that the documentary was accordingly found to be undermining sovereignty and integrity of India, and having the potential to adversely impact India's friendly relations with foreign States.

New Delhi: Neeraj alias Katiya, who was arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police on Sunday after an exchange of fire, is a member of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and was running a YouTube channel.
"Katiya is the maternal uncle of Deepak Mundi, who was nabbed near Nepal border in connection with Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Katiya is very active on YouTube and has uploaded many of his videos brandishing firearms. He did that to create fear among the people in his name," said the official.
Earlier in the day, Katiya was arrested after an exchange of fire near Qutub Minar metro station. One semi-automatic pistol of .30 with two live cartridges was recovered from him. "Our teams had been working on him for several months. Inspector Shiv Kumar Pawan Kumar, ACP Attar Singh got a tip-off that he would be coming near Qutub Minar metro station. A trap was laid and he was held. Four rounds were fired in the encounter. He was declared proclaimed offender in two cases in Delhi and Haryana," said Alok Kumar, DCP Special Cell, Southern Range.
The police said that Katiya is an active associate of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Katiya was previously involved in more than 25 criminal cases, including four murder cases, two attempt to murder, extortion, robbery and kidnapping for ransom.
He was declared proclaimed offender in connection with a kidnapping case lodged at Delhi's Anand Parbat police station.
In Anand Parbat case, Katiya along with his associates abducted a businessman when he was driving his car in Anand Parbat area and they demanded a ransom of Rs five lakh from his family in 2014. They robbed him off his car, cash and belongings and dumped him in Haryana.

Patna: The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police on Wednesday arrested an aide of infamous YouTuber Manish Kashyap in connection with the sharing of fake videos of purported attack on Bihar migrants in Tamil Nadu, an official said.

The accused has been identified as Nagesh Kashyap, who campaigned extensively for Manish Kashyap on social media after the latter's arrest.

Manish Kashyap has a number of friends who were involved in uploading fake videos on social media and creating propaganda, the official further said.

"We have arrested him and an investigation is underway. After a brief questioning, he will be sent to jail. We have established links with some of the coaching institutions of Patna and raided them as well. The EOU sleuths have seized some documents. On the basis of those documents, Manish Kashyap will be quizzed further," he said.

The YouTuber is facing seven criminal cases in Bettiah and as many in other districts and EOU of Bihar.

According to Bettiah SP Upendra Nath Pandey, Manish Kashyap is booked under the IPC sections of 153, 153A, 153B, 505, B, 505C, 468, 471, 120B, and 67 of IPC. Majority of the charges imposed on him are non-bailable.

Besides, 13 more cases have been registered against him in Tamil Nadu. A team headed by a DSP and an inspector rank officer are camping in Patna to take transit remand of Manish Kashyap and take him to Tamil Nadu for further legal process.

New Delhi News: Delhi's Shaheen Bagh resident and the Kozhikode train fire incident primary accused Shahrukh Saifi ran a YouTube channel with 539 subscribers, as per information gathered by IANS.

Saifi, who is known for his talent in creating furniture, showcased his skills in various videos, some of which gained significant popularity with over 90,000 views. However, the authenticity of the channel could not be verified independently by IANS.

"He started uploading videos a year ago on his YoutTube channel a@shahrukhsaifiscarpentry883' and he had uploaded six videos till date. His every video had views in thousands," said one of his neighbours on condition of anonymity, adding that the family and most of the neighbours were in shock when they heard about Shahrukh being a prime accused in the Kozhikode train fire incident.

Three passengers, including a child, died while nine other passengers sustained burn injuries in the arson attack on the Alappuzha-Kannur Express train at around 9.45 p.m. on Sunday (April 2).

Saifi was nabbed on April 4 in a joint operation carried out by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad and Central intelligence agencies. The suspect had reportedly sustained injuries to his face and head, and had sought medical treatment at a hospital in Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

However, authorities have now begun to delve into Saifi's past and are actively searching for any potential connections that may explain why the young man has taken such a wrong turn in his life.

The police have yet to release any further details about the case, but they are determined to uncover the truth behind Saifi's alleged network and the reasons for his sudden involvement in illegal activities. IANS

New Delhi News: Social media sensation and actor Bhuvan Bam recently got into trouble because of a fan.

Recently, Bhuvan had visited a restaurant in New Delhi and somehow a fan got to know about it and when she got to meet her idol in person, she could not hold back her tears of joy, which led to a lot of speculation.

Bhuvan said: "I recently visited New Delhi and was at a restaurant in Connaught Place. A fan found that out and waited for me outside the restaurant. The moment I came out, she was so emotional and excited that she started crying. Since it was a crowded area, few passersby noticed it and thought she was being troubled."

He added: "They started to enquire if there was any problem. Then the girl clarified that she is a fan. By then I thought I was going to get in serious trouble. But on the hind side, it was nice to see people being vigilant about women's safety."

New Delhi: A YouTube user who was arrested for allegedly sharing phoney films of migrant labourers being attacked in the southern state of Tamil Nadu has petitioned the Supreme Court to combine the FIRs that have been brought against him. The petition was filed on Tuesday, and the Supreme Court has requested comments from both Tamil Nadu and Bihar.
In response to the petition that was submitted by Manish Kashyap, a judge panel consisting of Justices Krishna Murari and Sanjay Karol issued a notice to the governments of the Centre, Tamil Nadu, and Bihar, and requested their responses within a week.
