Chennai: Two-time Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC on Thursday announced the signing of winger Alexander Romario Jesuraj on a multi-year deal ahead of the upcoming season.Named after Brazilian World Cup-winning legend Romario, the 25-year-old from Dindigul district has two I-League titles under his belt.Jesuraj is an exciting Indian talent and was part of the India U-13 camp. He started his senior career with Arrows FC in the Chennai Premier Division at 17.He made rapid strides and moved to Chennai City FC in 2017 with whom he made his I-League debut and was a vital cog in the team's title-winning campaign in 2019, netting twice and providing as many assists in 19 matches."I feel very happy and delighted to sign for Chennaiyin FC. It is very special for me as this is my home team. It will also be special for me to play in front of Tamil Nadu fans. I will do everything I can on the pitch to support the team," Jesuraj said.Jesuraj, who has played 89 matches in his six years of professional career, spent two years with The Lions before being handed an ISL contract by FC Goa but was sent on loan to Mohun Bagan, where he lifted his second I-League title in 2020.On his return to the Goan club from loan, he made his ISL debut.Scoring a maiden ISL goal against NorthEast United and also assisting on four occasions, Jesuraj made 21 appearances for the Gaurs in that season.He won the 2021 Durand Cup with them, scoring one goal from five games and also appeared in five AFC Champions League matches for the club.In the last ISL season, Jesuraj played nine matches and scored twice for FC Goa.—PTI

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a 2-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ to discuss problems relating to internal security at Surajkund, Haryana, on Thursday. Addressing the inaugural session, Shah said that there has been a 34 per cent reduction in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. At the same time, he said that the government has decided to set up National Investigation Agency (NIA) branches in every state by 2024.
Shah added that a 64 per cent reduction in deaths of security personnel and 90 per cent reduction in civilian deaths have been recorded after the revocation of Article 370. Apart from this, an investment of Rs 57,000 crore has also been seen in J&amp;k since then.
He stated that the NIA has been given special powers. It is the collective responsibility of the states and the Centre to effectively deal with cross-border crimes. He added that various suggestions have been received regarding reforms in the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and said that the government will bring new drafts in Parliament soon.
Shah added that the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) has been amended to prevent its misuse by NGOs. The government has taken strict measures against such NGOs, which were obstructing the development of India. He said that the Shivir will help in drawing up a joint plan to tackle cyber crimes, narcotics smuggling, cross-border terrorism, sedition etc.

A 45-year-old murder suspect killed a guy who resembled him physically, disfigured the body, and left his identity card to make it appear as though he had died.
The plan, however, failed when the police, following a confrontation, detained the accused Firoz Ahmad of Kareha village.
He was hurt during the shootout.
"Firoz obtained clues from popular crime and thriller TV serials during his time in Naini central jail," SP (trans Yamuna) Saurabh Dixit told reporters. "He formed a conspiracy to get rid of those who had provided him loans of Rs 4 lakh to pursue his legal battle."
Firoz started hunting for a man of the similar physique after being released on bail in connection with a case around two months prior. During this search, he made touch with a young man from Buxar in the Bihar state.
Suraj Gupta is an electrician by trade, and Firoz was able to gain his trust by promising to assist him in finding employment. He suggested that he remain in the city.
Then, on October 17th, close to Mardapur hamlet, Firoz asked Gupta for a drink and dinner at a neighbourhood restaurant.
They beheaded Gupta and strangled him to death along with his two assistants. To hide the identify, they hacked off the deceased's privates and burned the body. Firoz left his driver's licence close to the partially burned body to make it appear as though he had died.
He believed that after Gupta's passing, the police would drop all charges.
According to the SP, the police discovered some contact information from the body's pocket during their investigations. Police learned that the dead was Suraj Gupta of Bihar when they called these numbers.
After that, Firoz was located and taken into custody.

UP guy kills lookalike in Bollywood fashion but is caught

Dineshpur (The Hawk): Area player Suraj Biswas has been selected in the senior Kho-Kho team of Uttarakhand state. Sooraj has also been made the captain of the Uttarakhand team. The team will participate in the 55th Senior National Kho-Kho tournament to be held in Osmanabad, Maharashtra. Suraj, a resident of Radhakantapur, on November 6, 100 players from all the districts of the state participated in the selection trial camp organized at Bandi Sports Ground, Golapar, Haldwani. In which the 15-member Uttarakhand state team was selected. Sooraj told that along with his selection in the team, he has also been entrusted with the captaincy of the team. The team will participate in the 55th Senior National Kho-Kho tournament to be held in Osmanabad, Maharashtra from November 20 to 24. Teams of Railways and Army will also participate in the competition along with teams from all the states of the country. On this achievement of Suraj, there is a wave of happiness among the family as well as the sports lovers of the area. Regional MLA Arvind Pandey, former MLA Premanand Mahajan, Nagar Panchayat President Seema Sarkar, City Sports Committee President Saroj Mandal, Himanshu Sarkar, Ravi Sarkar, Anadi Ranjan Mandal, Vikas Sarkar, Nityanand Mandal, Prasanjit Shah, Dozens of people including Manoj Rai, Dilip Kumar, Kamal Mandal, Vidhan Sana congratulated.

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh (The Hawk): A 33-year-old childless woman who killed her neighbor's 10-year-old boy and drank his blood as part of a tantrik ceremony was given a life sentence by a court in Bareilly.
The woman thought it would make it easier for her to conceive.
Life sentences have also been granted to the woman's lover and her cousin, who assisted her in the crime.
Reports state that the crime occurred on December 5, 2017, in the Jamuka village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Roza police station.
With the assistance of her lover Suraj and her cousin Sunil Kumar, Dhan Devi abducted and killed her neighbor's son.
Three days after the event, on December 8, she was taken into custody.
Vinod Shukla, a district government attorney, added, "The crime was horrifying. Before killing the youngster, the woman removed some of his blood, applied it on her face, and drank a few drops of it as part of the ritual."
The woman told the investigating officer that she approached a tantrik after six years of marriage and not being able to conceive because she wanted to "remove the stigma of being childless."
Dhan Devi began living with her family in Shahjahanpur after becoming tired of the jeers at her in-laws' residence. It was there that she first encountered the tantrik. Dhan Devi was married to Dharampal, a resident of Madhotanda in the Pilibhit district.
The boy's relatives had urged that the defendant receive the death penalty.
