Aligarh: Students, who had raised slogans in support of Pakistan during a Tiranga Yatra, have been booked under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code. A Tiranga rally was organised by a college in Aligarh during which some students allegedly raised pro-Pakistan slogans. A complaint had been lodged with the college administration, along with videos of the procession. However, no action was taken and the college allegedly tried to suppress it.
The complainant then approached the police with the video, based on which, a case was registered against unknown students. The principal and the manager of the college have also been named as accused of "disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant".
"A rally was organised by our college. Teachers walked ahead of us in the procession, followed by us. There were many students. Suddenly, we heard slogans of 'Pakistan zindabad'. We immediately informed our teachers about it. I only heard the slogans. I do not know whether they were being raised by students of the college or outsiders," said a student.
The principal said that though they received complaints, no video proof of the incident could be found. Aligarh Superintendent of Police (Rural), Palash Bansal, said that during the rally, in addition to the patriotic slogans, some objectionable slogans were raised.
"We took cognizance of the case after seeing the video. Action has been taken against the principal and the manager," Bansal said.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police have grilled two accused in connection with raising pro-Pakistan slogans during a clubhouse chat, and also intensified the search for three others.&nbsp;
Last Tuesday a group of youths from Bengaluru created a picture display of the Pakistani flag on the clubhouse and also sung the national anthem of the hostile neighbouring country.&nbsp;
They created a group in the name of “Pakistan zindabad, India murdabad”. The members raised pro-Pakistan slogans in the group. However, one of the participants of the clubhouse chatting took screen shots and made them viral on social media.
The participants also claimed that their country was Pakistan and chatted in the local Kannada language. They also used defamatory language against India.
The Hindu activists have demanded the arrest of youths who insulted the country.
Sampigehalli police in Bengaluru took Sourabh, a resident of Bellary and Rahul, a techie in Bengaluru from Sahakar Nagar locality into custody and released them later.
The police had taken suo moto case under IPC Section 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony).
Notice was issued by the police for Sourabh and Rahul to attend the inquiry. The accused informed police that they had put up a display picture of the Pakistan flag and raised pro-Pakistan slogans out of challenge between themselves and apologised for the same, police said.
The police stated that though it appears as a prank act, they will investigate the matter thoroughly and detain the other three accused soon and question them.&nbsp;

New Delhi: The controversial ‘religious conversion’ event where anti-Hindu god slogans were raised have sparked a political fight and now the matter has reached the Delhi Police after the BJP filed a complaint.
BJP’s Delhi President Adesh Gupta has lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Cabinet Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam, for the alleged conversion programme where anti-Hindu god slogans were raised.
Gupta has requested the Delhi Police to lodge the FIR under sections 153A, 153B, 295A, 298, 505, 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to information, the programme was held at Ambedkar Bhawan in Central Delhi.
“They released the video of the programme and made it viral. The video was exasperating and mischievous in nature. These social media posts are created with the obvious motive of inciting violence and promoting hatred,” said the Delhi BJP President in his complaint.
Gupta has alleged that during the anti-NRC protests, same tactics were used to incite violence by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders.
The complaint said that a ‘sabha’ (rally) was held at Ambedkar Bhawan on October 6. This Sabha was organised by AAP and their concerned leaders where oaths were administered which continuously demeaned various Hindu gods and goddesses and subsequently everyone was asked not to follow Hinduism, considering it to be a bad religion.
“That videos were made of such speech and were subsequently shared on various social media platforms to get maximum reach and propagation so that the religious sentiments of people of the Hindu religion may be attacked and subsequently a state of riot and disturbance be created on a national level,” the complaint added.
The Delhi Police said that they were looking into the matter.&nbsp;

Etawah (The Hawk): In response to some individuals using the North Central Railway's public address system to shout support for Dimple Yadav, the Samajwadi Party's (SP) candidate for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha byelection, the North Central Railway has suspended a senior employee.
A few people entered the Etawah railway station's information desk two days ago, shouting "Dimple Yadav Zindabad" and pleading with voters to support her in the December 5 by-election.
Mansa Munda, a senior official of the commercial section who was on duty, has been suspended, according to CPRO of North Central Railway Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay.
Ten people have been named in a FIR in relation to the incident.
Dimple Yadav, the spouse of SP President Akhilesh Yadav, is running in the byelection for the Lok Sabha that was called after Mulayam Singh Yadav's passing in October.

Godhra, Gujarat (The Hawk): A young person was apprehended by Godhra police on Wednesday for spreading social media content that can incite communal hatred and offend religious and national sensitivities.
Vasim Bhatuk, a resident of Satpul Muslim Society, uploaded a film that was sensitive to certain communities, according to a FIR filed with the Godhra B-division police station. His social media profile image this September also said "Pakistan Jindabad." This was disclosed to the police on Tuesday, and a complaint was then made against him.
The young man was seized by Godhra Police Inspector R.M. Sangada this morning for questioning; once the corona report is unfavourable, the officer stated, the young man would be formally arrested.
Bhatuk has been charged under the Information and Technology and IPC provisions of the law for engaging in conduct that is harmful to the preservation of harmony between various racial, ethnic, linguistic, or regional castes, communities, or groupings of people.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly started on a stormy note on Monday with the opposition Samajwadi Party disrupting Governor Anandiben Patel's address with "Rajyapal wapas jao" slogans.
The Budget session of the state commenced at 11 am with Patel continuing to read her address to the joint sitting of the House amidst the sloganeering.
Earlier in the day, the SP MLAs led by party general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav staged a dharna in the assembly premises, raising various issues including that of farmers and law and order situation in the state. Yadav told reporters that they want to raise issues related to public interest in the House.
While trying to evict SP legislators, marshals posted in the premises had a scuffle with photojournalists at the site, leading to protests.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya termed the protest as an attempt to "vitiate" the atmosphere and said the opposition party is left with no valid issue to raise.
"The state is progressing on the path of development. The SP does not have any issue and is trying to divert the attention of people towards them and vitiate the atmosphere," he said.
"Whatever issues they have, they should come to the House and discuss. The government is ready to reply to them," he added.
When asked about the demonstration, Maurya said it does not matter whether Shivpal or Akhilesh or their entire family sit on dharna, adding, "We have our target of development and we are focussing on it." —PTI

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday termed the governor’s address to the joint session of the Uttar Pradesh legislature a “futile attempt to cover up” the government’s failures.
The Uttar Pradesh legislature’s budget session started on a stormy note on Monday with opposition Samajwadi Party disrupting Governor Anandiben Patel’s address with “Rajyapal wapas jao” slogans.
The governor continued her speech amid the rancorous slogan-shouting, and said the state government is moving on the path of good governance, security and development. An environment of peace and harmony is being ensured with the policy of zero-tolerance towards crime and corruption, she said.
Mayawati said the speech was “overall very disappointing for people”.
“Hon’ble governor’s address today on the first day of the budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly was a futile attempt by the government to cover up its failures to check inflation, poverty, unemployment, backwardness and disturbed environment troubling the people,” she said in a tweet in Hindi.
In the 403-member assembly, the BSP has only one MLA.
In a separate tweet, Mayawati said, “Except for those in power in UP, contrary to the claims of the government, today every class, society and community is the victim of the narrow and malicious policies and activities of the government.” “The biggest failure of the government is that people are not getting their rights and justice. Samajwadi party members disrupted the Governor's address to the joint session of the UP legislation by shouting slogans and waving placards.
As soon as Governor Anandiben Patel entered the Assembly to address the joint session, SP legislators began chanting 'wapas jao' and 'go back'. They screamed and hollered to disturb the address.
The Governor, however, read out her address but nothing could be heard in the din.
From what could be heard, the Governor spoke on the successful Global investors Summit and the G20 meetings held in the state. She spoke of the development that had taken place in the state and also the crackdown on mafia and criminals.
The Governor left after completing her address and the opposition continued with its protests. —IANS

Bhopal: A 12-year-old boy was allegedly stripped and forced to chant religious slogans in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, a senior police official said on Friday.

The accused, who are also minors and known to the victim, have been detained, the official said on Friday.

According to police, the incident came into light late on Thursday after a video of the incident surfaced on social media. The victim was playing near Star Square when one of the accused approached him and took him to another location.

The victim told police that upon reaching near a flyover in Mahalaxmi Nagar area, another boy joined them. The duo forced him to chant religious slogans. They also allegedly beat him and made him take off his clothes.

He managed to escape and narrated the entire incident to his parents. Following which, the parents took him to a nearby police station and lodged a complaint on Thursday.

"Accused and the victim were known to each other. We have detained the accused and booked them under relevant IPC. We have also requested people not to make the video of the incident viral on social media, as both accused and victim are minor. We are trying to find out what made the accused do such an act," police said.

Jaipur: It was an awkward moment for Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, when slogans of 'Gehlot Zindabad' rented the air while he was delivering a public address in this capital city of Rajasthan.

Maurya was addressing the public on the occasion of Mali Mahasangam, organised to press for 12 per cent reservation -- for the community on Sunday.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was also present on the occasion.

As soon as Maurya started speaking and praising the BJP government, Gehlot followers started raising slogans in his favour forcing the former to stop in the middle.

Though the organisers requested for peace and calm, Maurya expressed his annoyance saying that he would raise the community's demands at the right platform.

"If there is any grievance against me, it should be conveyed in writing, he said, adding that "one needs to be careful of people who are dividing the community."

He concluded his address and left the gathering.

New Delhi: The Union government on Monday urged the Supreme Court that National Conference leader Mohammad Akbar Lone, who had reportedly raised “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, should file an affidavit that he owes allegiance to the Constitution of India and opposes terrorism and secessionism by Pakistan in the union territory.  Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, pleaded before the Constitution Bench that Akbar Lone is the one of the main petitioners in the pleas filed against abrogation of Article 370.  “Main petitioner in the lead petition saying “Pakistan Zindabad” on the floor of the house has its own seriousness,” Mehta said.  He urged that the National Conference leader should file an affidavit that he owes allegiance to the Constitution of India and opposes terrorism and secessionism by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir or elsewhere, adding that if he does nothing, it “might encourage others” and “efforts of the nation to bring in normalcy (in the union territory) might be affected”.  Mehta said that Lone is “not an ordinary man” but “a member of Parliament”.  “Coming from responsible leaders, it has its own context and seriousness,” he added.  At the outset of the hearing, an application seeking permission to file an additional affidavit was mentioned before the Constitution Bench hearing pleas contending retention of Article 370.  The Constitution Bench was told that the affidavit discloses the ‘startling’ fact that Lone has reportedly uttered pro-Pakistan slogans in the State assembly and hesitated to be identified himself as an Indian.  “The petitioners Mohd Akbar Lone he had said at so many forums and in the legislative assembly ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and he has no remorse about that,” said the counsel, claiming that the National Conference leader as per media reports had said that J&amp;K accession with India is not complete.  “We have seen the newspaper, it’s alright,” remarked Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, adding that he will seek the response of the petitioner while hearing rejoinder.  Notably, a 5-judge Constitution Bench is hearing a clutch of petitions challenging the 2019 Presidential Order taking away the special status accorded to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir and its bifurcation into two union territories.

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Friday witnessed uproarious scenes with opposition TDP MLA and Tollywood actor N. Balakrishna blowing a whistle during a protest over party supremo and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest.
Balakrishna, who had created a row by twirling his moustaches and slapping his thighs in the house on Thursday, blew a whistle as a mark of protest. Another MLA G. Rammohan was also seen blowing a whistle.
Speaker Thammineni Sitaram took serious note of the MLAs action and directed marshals to snatch whistles. However, the MLAs resisted their attempts.
As soon as the House met for the day, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members were on their feet demanding a debate on Naidu’s arrest. When the Speaker disallowed their adjournment motion, they trooped into the well of the House and started raising slogans.
Carrying placards, the opposition MLAs demanded that Chandrababu Naidu be released and the “false” case booked against him in alleged skill development scam be withdrawn. They raised slogans calling for an end to “psycho rule”.
Minister B. Rajendranath Reddy and Ambati Rambabu took exception to the protest by the TDP members. Rambabu, who was sporting a sticker of Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on his shirt, said they would not tolerate any bad words about the chief ministers and his rule. He advised the TDP members to participate in the debate on skill development.
As the ruckus continued, the Speaker suspended two TDP MLAs K. Atchannaidu and B. Ashok for the rest of the session. Atchannaidu is also Andhra Pradesh unit president of TDP.
Balakrishna, who had brought a whistle with him, started blowing it. Amid the din, the Speaker adjourned the House.
The Speaker had suspended three MLAs for the rest of the session during a similar protest on Thursday. Other TDP MLAs were suspended for the day.
The Speaker had also warned Balakrishna on Thursday. He said he was not taking action on Balakrishna, treating this as his first mistake.
Balakrishna’s actions had evoked a strong protest from the ruling YSRCP. Minister Ambati Rambabu had told him that he is in the legislature and not shooting for a film.
The actor, who is brother-in-law of Naidu, had stated that the YSRCP MLAs provoked him by making insulting remarks about his profession.
Earlier, the MLAs reached the Assembly in a padyatra. They were carrying placards. “Save democracy in Andhra Pradesh and It’s a black day in democracy,” were written on the placards.

Dakshina Kannada: Police have arrested two persons, who allegedly barged into a mosque and raised 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans, in Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka, police said on Tuesday.  The arrested youths have been identified as Keerthan, a resident of Bilinele Sodlu and Sachin, a resident of Kaikamba Nedtota -- both in their 20s. The incident took place in the limits of Kadaba police station on Sunday night.
The accused, who came on a bike, had barged into the premises of the mosque and raised 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans. When the cleric of the mosque came out, the youths had escaped from the spot.  The CCTV camera in the mosque had captured the footage of the accused persons. Following the complaint in this regard, the police tracked the accused and arrested them.  In the complaint, the cleric explained that the youths after barging into the mosque illegally chanted 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans and also threatened that they would not let ‘Byaris’ (Muslims) to live.  The incident had created tension and the police had formed two teams to nab the accused in this connection.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): The Bengaluru Court on Tuesday granted three days of police custody to the three people arrested in connection with the alleged pro-Pakistan slogan at Vidhana Soudha in Karnataka. The Vidhana Soudha police, earlier on Monday arrested three people for allegedly raising "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans in the corridors of Vidhana Soudha during the victory celebrations of Rajya Sabha member, Syed Naseer Hussain.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Division, Shekhar H.T., confirmed that the arrest is based on the FSL report, circumstantial evidence and statements of the witnesses gathered at the event. "On the basis of FSL report, circumstantial evidence, statements of witnesses and available evidence, three accused persons were arrested and legal action was initiated against them," the press release from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Division of Bangalore City, said. The accused have been identified as Iltaz from Delhi, Munawar from RT Nagar in Bengaluru and Mohammed Shafi Nashipudi from Byadagi in Haveri district. Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara said that the FSL report had confirmed that slogans of Pakistan Zindabada were raised during the victory celebration of Naseer Hussain at the Vidhan Soudha complex. "That individual shouted the slogans twice. FSL has not said who has said that. They have just said that it has been confirmed and there is no intervention of any kind, it is a straightforward continuous video. New Delhi: Punjab Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Somnath Bharti were among the scores of AAP members detained by police on Tuesday as they gathered at the Patel Chowk to protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Raising slogans of 'Inquilab Zindabad' and 'Kejriwal Zindabad', Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers and leaders reached the area's metro station in groups, with the party calling for a march to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Lok Kalyan Marg for a 'gherao'.  Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure are imposed in the area and police cannot allow anyone to gather, a senior officer said and added that in view of this, 'we have to clear this area'. "We will not allow anybody to gather here," he said.  AAP national convener Kejriwal, who was arrested on March 21 and subsequently remanded to the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) custody till March 28 by a Delhi court, faces allegations of direct involvement in a conspiracy related to the formulation of the excise policy favouring specific individuals.  "The BJP-led central government is targeting everyone who is honest so that it can save the corrupt," Kavita, one of the protesters, said.
Senior AAP leader Bharti in a post on X said he has been detained by police along with Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker and AAP's Mangolpuri MLA Rakhi Birla.  "Delhi Police for no rhyme or reason along with Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla and many volunteers of AAP and supporters of Arvind Kejriwal Ji. It's shocking to see that while the Delhi Police are arresting peacefully protesting AAP supporters, they are doing nothing to stop @BJP4India," Bharti posted.  Bains, who is a minister in AAP government in Punjab, and senior party member Reena Gupta were also among those detained.  Leaders and workers of the BJP's Delhi unit also staged a demonstration on Tuesday demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Kejriwal.
Besides the Lok Kalyan Marg area, police have also beefed-up security in several other parts of the national capital by deploying its personnel and those of paramilitary forces.  "There is no permission to hold protest. We also got information that protesters will gather at the Patel Chowk metro station. In view of that, we stepped up security arrangements," Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar said.  Kumar said that if protesters try to reach and gather, they will be detained immediately.  The entry and exit gates at the Lok Kalyan Marg metro station have been closed due to security reasons, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on X. Entry and exit have also been restricted at the Patel Chowk and the Central Secretariat metro stations till further notice, it added.  Security personnel in anti-riot gear were seen around the metro stations and at other places in the Central Delhi area.
