New Delhi: With an aim to decongesting busy areas of the national capital, the city government on Tuesday approved two new flyover projects in east and west Delhi and these will be completed in one-and-a-half year's time.Officials said these projects were approved in a meeting of the expenditure finance committee (EFC) headed by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia."Delhi Government approved two key flyover projects today. New Flyover between Anand Vihar &amp; Apsara Border. New Corridor between Raja Garden &amp; Punjabi Bagh Flyover. These projects are vital for decongesting city traffic &amp; shall be completed in 18 months," Sisodia said in a tweet after the meeting.Anand Vihar is a multi-modal transport hub having an Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT), a railway station and a metro station as a result the area remains clogged most of the time during the day.Officials of the Public Works Department (PWD), which will execute these projects, said these facilities will provided a relief to commuters travelling to Uttar Pradesh border from east and northeast Delhi and also ease movement of motorists in west Delhi areas around Ring Road.—PTI

Almost 70 per cent of the population of Delhi will be rendered homeless," he added.The Aam Aadmi Party will oppose the demolition drive and I have written to the Union home minister to seek his intervention in the matter, he said."I have written to him (Shah) saying that this (demotion drive) should be stopped. ''A magisterial enquiry has been ordered into the incident. The families of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, while the injured will be given Rs 50,000,'' the chief minister said. He said it was a massive blaze and the bodies were charred to such an extent that it has become difficult to identify them. ''The Delhi government has deployed help to identify the missing and the deceased,'' Kejriwal added. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had visited the site on Friday night.—PTI

Manish Sisodia said, "Future partnerships with UK higher education institutions will help us promote innovation and create 21st-century jobs in Delhi. An insightful meeting with the Minister for Skills and faculties from universities gave us an opportunity to understand their work and curricula being implemented here. Tagging the media report that alleged that over the past few months, athletes and coaches at the Delhi government-run Thyagraj Stadium have been forced to end their training earlier than usual, by 7 pm, Sisodia tweeted that CM Kejriwal has directed all sports facilities to stay open for sportsmen till 10 pm.According to the report, some athletes and their parents alleged that the reason for the early wrap-up of their training was that Delhi's Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjeev Khirwar walks his dog at the facility about half an hour later. However, the senior bureaucrat termed the allegation as absolutely incorrect as per the report. "News reports have brought to our notice that certain sports facilities are being closed early causing inconvenience to sportsmen who wish to play till late nite (sic). CM @ArvindKejriwal has directed that all Delhi Govt sports facilities to stay open for sportsmen till 10 pm", said the Deputy CM in a tweet. Jain was arrested by the ED in a money laundering case on Monday and sent to the ED custody till June 9 by a court on Tuesday.A notification issued on Wednesday by the General Administration department of the Delhi government said, “In exercise of powers conferred under Rule 3 of GNCTD (Allocation of Business) Rules 193, Lt Governor in consultation with the Chief Minister is pleased to allocate portfolios of Health, Industries, Power, Home, Urban Development, Irrigation and Flood Control and Water to Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, in addition to the portfolios he is presently holding.”Meanwhile, addressing a media briefing on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed that sources had informed him of Jain’s arrest a few months ago and the same sources have told him that the Central government will arrest Manish Sisodia too in the coming days. “I had already announced a few months back that Central government is going to arrest Satyendar Jain in a fake case. Reliable sources have suggested to me that Manish Sisodia is going to be arrested soon”, the Delhi Chief Minister said. In a video message, the minister said that as per the National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2021 performance report, the education level of the children studying in Delhi is much lower than the national average. Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia is confused about who they should blame for this, she said. "I advise you (Sisodia), that instead of running here and there for votes, you should focus on providing quality education in the national capital. Whenever difficult times are there, it is a tradition that AAP tries to run away from the problems instead of facing them," she said. "Self-indulgence is an incurable disease with which 'you' are afflicted. Dust is on 'your' face and 'your' mirror is being blamed. NAS showed what it showed. If your patch is seen, then you are going to get angry," the BJP minister tweeted as well.She further wrote in a tweet, "In fact, in the National Achievement Survey 2021 report, Delhi's performance in many subjects, in many classes, was very poor compared to the national average. Dispur: Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday alleged that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave contracts to companies of his wife and son's business partners to supply PPE kits at "exorbitant rates" in 2020, a charge rebutted by the Bharatiya Janata Party leader who threatened to file a criminal defamation suit against him. At a press conference in the national capital, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia said two websites had collaborated on the story on the alleged "scam" and published it two days ago.Assam government spokesman Pijush Hazarika said the allegations against the Sarma family were ''false, imaginary and malicious". He said there was no scam and asked why are the two media organisations were not going to the court if they have evidence.Sisodia claimed that while the Assam government procured PPE kits at Rs 600 apiece from other companies, Sarma, who was then the state health minister, gave urgent supply orders to his ''wife's firm, JCB Industries, and Meditime Healthcare, which belonged to a close associate," at Rs 990 apiece "taking advantage of the COVID-19 emergency". ''It is a major scam by the chief minister of Assam and his close associates. It is a solid corruption case and the ED is after (Satyendar) Jain who is working hard to provide quality healthcare to the residents of Delhi," Sisodia said. The ED had arrested Jain, Delhi's health minister and AAP leader, on May 30 in a money laundering case after hours of questioning.Sarma refuted the allegations, saying his wife's company gifted the PPE kits to the government and that Sisodia was "cherry-picking from half the documents". The BJP leader said his wife managed to bring in a few kits to save precious lives at a time when Assam did not have a single PPE kit."Although the NHM issued order, the company raised no bill and the kits were gifted to the government... not a single penny was transacted, where is the corruption(sic)," he tweeted."Due to acute shortage then, every government including yours waived the tender process for PPE kits and went for direct purchase... Don't cherry-pick from half the documents. Have the courage to put all the facts," he added.The chief minister also attached a letter of appreciation from the then National Health Mission director Dr Lakshmanan for providing the PPE kits as corporate social responsibility during COVID-19 by JCB Industries, of which Sarma's wife Rinki Sarma Bhuyan is a partner.''Stop sermonising. I will see you in Guwahati as you (Sisodia) will face criminal defamation,'' Sarma said.Sisodia alleged that business partners of "Sarma's son also got a lucrative order to supply PPE kits at a rate of Rs 990 per piece. Agile Associates, a company owned by a business partner of Sarma's wife, received orders to deliver 10,000 PPE kits for Rs 2,205 per piece"."Despite an incomplete supply of orders, these close associates of the Sarma family bagged orders to supply more PPE kits at a rate of Rs 1,680 per piece," Sisodia alleged.The firm belonging to his wife does not even deal in medical equipment, the AAP leader alleged.Sisodia asked why the members of the BJP were silent on "corruption" by a chief minister of a state ruled by the saffron party.He claimed the Enforcement Directorate arrested Satyendar Jain on "bogus" charges of corruption and the Centre told the court on Friday that he is "not an accused"."On the other hand, the central government has turned a blind eye towards corruption by BJP ministers. When will the BJP take action against its ministers?" he asked.The ED had arrested Jain on May 30 in a money laundering case after hours of questioning.The agency has alleged that the AAP leader and his wife had amassed disproportionate wealth worth Rs 1.47 crore between February 2015 and May 2017, more than double their known sources of income.Hazarika, also minister for water resources and information and public relations, said the allegations against the Sarma family "can be attributed as the handiwork of a certain section with vested interests".At the beginning of the pandemic two years ago, none knew how to deal with the situation and experts said that PPE could provide full protection to deal with COVID infection. But there was no firm in Assam which manufactured the kits, while many other states had stopped transporting them as they themselves needed those, Hazarika said.''During an emergency situation, it is not possible to follow the general rules and regulations. The Cabinet had taken a decision that a committee will be formed and if its members gave the nod to buy the necessary kits and equipment to deal with the situation, then it can be bought,'' Hazarika, who was then the minister of state for health, said.Accordingly, orders for PPE kits were placed with 35 firms and finally only nine firms could supply them to the government. An order of only Rs 85 lakh was placed with the firm referred to by the portals, he said.Some PPE kits were arranged under corporate social responsibility but not a single paise went from the government. ''So how can a scam or a scandal take place ?" Hazarika asked.The chief minister's wife Riniki Sarma Bhuyan tweeted that in the first week of the pandemic not a single PPE kit was available in Assam."Taking cognisance of the same, I reached out to a business acquaintance and delivered around 1500 PPE kits to the NHM (National Health Mission) with a lot of effort. Later on, I wrote to the NHM to treat the same as a part of my CSR," she said.Bhuyan claimed that she did not take a "single penny" for supplying the PPE kits and asserted that she had always been "transparent" about her "giving back to the society" irrespective of her husband's political standing.—PTI

New Delhi:&nbsp;Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said he has written to the CBI to probe the changing stands of former LG Anil Baijal on opening of liquor shops in unauthorised colonies in the capital city.Sisodia alleged: “Why was the decision changed 48 hours before all the liquor shops were set to open in last November? Which shopkeepers got benefitted and under whose pressure LG reversed his decision, all these should be answered”. Because of the former LG’s sudden change of decision, around 300-350 shops did not open. Those who were taking this decision, should be investigated, Sisodia alleged in a press conference.“I have written to the CBI to probe ex-LG’s change of stance on opening of liquor shops in unauthorised areas,” he said.The Deputy CM said that the AAP government had passed the new excise policy in May 2021, according to which the number of shops in the whole of Delhi was to be 849 as it were earlier.“But in the policy, the liquor shops were not equally distributed so, we put special emphasis on the equal distribution of the liquor stores in each wards”, he said.Sisodia said that when the file was sent to former LG Baijal, he suggested many things which were considered and later the file was again sent to him in June last year and he approved. The new policy emphasised that if the liquor shops were divided equally, there would be 2-3 shops in each ward, he said.He further alleged that the former LG didn’t make any objection regarding the opening of liquor shops in the unauthorised area when the file was sent to him. But, when the file of opening the shops was sent to him during the first week of November, he suddenly changed his stand.The shops were scheduled to open from November 17, but LG put a condition on November 15 that DDA’s approval is needed to open shops in unauthorised areas. Whereas before this, LG had been approving the opening of shops there, he alleged.Under the old policy, even where there were shops in unauthorised areas which also did not open. After that the vendors went to court and the court ordered the government to return their license fee, due to which the government suffered the loss of thousands of crores of rupees.“This happened because the LG changed his stand without consulting the government and the cabinet. This deliberately benefited some shopkeepers. That’s why we are sending it to CBI”, said Sisodia.“This current policy has benefitted more as compared to the previous years, but had the LG not changed the decision, it would have been more beneficial. Shops in the unauthorised areas have been given approval to operate under the regime of three former LGs. Why this happened this time should be answered”, the Deputy CM asked.—IANS

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia wrote to Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and demanded a CBI probe into the alleged toll tax scam of Rs 6,000 crore in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday.
“Drawing your attention towards a huge corruption in Delhi’s Municipal corporation, I want to request you to get the CBI probe done into the matter and take strict action against those involved in the corruption. This corruption has led to around Rs 6,000 crore of losses to the MCD,” said Sisodia in the letter in Hindi.
He alleged corruption in the tax collected from the commercial vehicles entering the capital city.
The development comes a day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leveled allegations against the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) that it collided with two toll tax companies and caused a huge loss to the public exchequer.
Taking to Twitter, Sisodia tweeted, “I have written to the LG demanding a CBI probe into the toll tax scam of Rs 6,000 crore in Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The money collected from commercial vehicles coming to Delhi every day was embezzled in connivance.”&nbsp;

New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday wrote to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and demanded a CBI probe into the alleged toll tax scam of Rs 6,000 crore in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
The development comes a day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) levelled allegations against the MCD that it collided with two toll tax companies and caused huge loss to the public exchequer.
“I have written to the LG demanding a CBI probe into the toll tax scam of Rs 6,000 crore in Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The money collected from 10 lakh commercial vehicles coming to Delhi everyday was embezzled in connivance,” Sisodia said in a tweet.
AAP’s MCD in-charge and MLA Durgesh Pathak had on Tuesday alleged that there was a large-scale scam in toll tax collection and that it was caused by BJP leaders, who were then in power in MCD, in connivance with two private firms.
He had said every day, 10 lakh commercial vehicles come to Delhi and tax was collected from those vehicles but it allegedly did not reach the MCD.
“It is a major scam and we demand that this should be investigated. If the matter is properly investigated, senior BJP leaders and MCD officials will be in prison. They have looted thousands of crores of taxpayers’ money,” Pathak had said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the MCD had later termed the allegations as “baseless and without facts”.
Reacting to Sisodia’s allegations, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor on Wednesday said there was no such scam in the MCD.
“No scam has taken place in MCD in toll tax collection. Sisodia’s letter to Lt Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena alleging toll tax collection scam in MCD reflects his frustration over the ongoing inquires into scams in excise department and the school class room construction,” he said in a statement.
Kapoor clarified that after construction of Eastern-Western corridor in 2018, the commercial vehicles which crossed Delhi to go to other states have stopped coming in and as a result, Delhi’s toll tax collection has dropped by around 70 per cent.
Due to this, the then toll tax collection contractor, who had taken annual contract at Rs 1,260 crores, suffered huge loss in collections. Contractor partially paid MCD and quit the work thereafter, he said.
“After the contractor quit, the MCD forfeited his security deposit and launched legal recovery proceedings. At present, toll tax collection contract is with a company Shahkar Global which is regularly making proper payments for the last two years,” Kapoor said.—PTI

New Delhi: Delhi has been under the rule of a group of thugs led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said BJP MP from East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir on Friday after the CBI raid at Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence.
BJP MP alleged, “These crooks take loads of money from the people in the name of taxes, spend a percentage of that on promotions and freebies and laugh all the way to the bank with the rest.”&nbsp;
Gambhir said further that it has also been alleged that they have used funds from liquor licences in Delhi during the Punjab elections. It is now time to expose all of them. One by one, their misdeeds are coming out in the open, said the BJP MP.
“First it was the law minister, the health minister, now it is the Deputy chief minister. very soon the CM will have to answer to the people. Delhi will not tolerate such blatant abuse of power by the CM and his cohort”, he said further.
The CBI on Friday conducted raids at 21 locations in the national capital, including the house of Sisodia in connection with irregularities in the new Excise policy case.
Welcoming the CBI raids at 21 places against the new excise policy in Delhi-NCR, Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha Vice-President Priyal Bhardwaj said that with the new excise policy of the Delhi government, a conspiracy has not only been hatched to push the national capital under the influence of alcohol, but crime against women has also increased.
She claimed that since the day the sale of liquor has increased in Delhi, domestic violence has also increased from that day. “On the one hand, the Delhi government talks about good education and on the other hand, the youth of Delhi are getting addicted to alcohol,” Bhardwaj said.&nbsp;

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said the CBI raid at Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s residence was the result of their good performance, which was being appreciated globally, but the Centre sent the probe agency to his house.
“The same day when America’s most reputed newspaper NYT has lauded Delhi’s model and has published Manish Sisodia’s photo on the front page, the Centre has sent the CBI to his residence. We welcome CBI and will cooperate in the probe. The searches/raids were conducted earlier too, but nothing was found. Nothing will be found now too,” said Kejriwal in his tweet in Hindi.
In a subsequent tweet, he said that Delhi’s model of health and education were being discussed across the world and ‘they want to stop it’.
“The whole world is talking about Delhi’s model of health and education. They want to stop this. That’s why Delhi’s health and education ministers are being raided and arrested. In 75 years, whoever did good work, was stopped. That is why India remained behind. But we will not stop the good work being done in Delhi,” Kejriwal said.
Earlier, shortly before the raids began, Kejriwal shared The New York Times front page article featuring Delhi’s Education model and Manish Sisodia. Kejriwal said that he is the best education minister in Independent India.
“Delhi has made India proud. Delhi model is on the front page of the biggest newspaper of the US. Manish Sisodia is the best education minister of independent India,” said Kejriwal sharing the NYT article.&nbsp;

New Delhi: The Congress, which has been alleging witch-hunt and misuse of agencies against political opponents, is somehow elated at the CBI raids at Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's residence. "The flip side to relentless misuse of agencies against political rivals is that even legitimate, rightful actions of agencies come under a cloud of suspicion. In the process, the corrupt get away hiding behind the 'misuse' argument and the honest end up paying the price," tweeted Pawan Khera, communication head of the Congress.
Khera was advisor to Late Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who lost power to the AAP in 2013. Dikshit ruled Delhi for 15 years. Former East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit alleged that the AAP and BJP were hand in glove to damage the Congress, "but it seems that the BJP does not require AAP now so the raids are being conducted".
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday called the ongoing Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid at his residence as "unfortunate", adding that "those doing good work for the country are being harassed". In a tweet in Hindi, Sisodia said the CBI sleuths were welcome and he would cooperate with the probe agency in every step "so that the truth may soon come out".
"Many cases have been registered against me and nothing has been proved till date. Nothing will come in this case too. My work of good education cannot be stopped," he said. The CBI was raiding 21 locations in Delhi and six other states in connection with the alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy. Sources have said that a CBI team at Sisodia's house was "grilling him and scanning different documents". Responding to the raids, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also took to Twitter and said that nothing will come out.

News Delhi: Shortly after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hailed Manish Sisodia as one of the best education ministers and shared an article lauding Delhi education model on the front page of the New York Times, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party claiming the article a paid news.
Sharing the paper cutting of two different newspapers, The New York Times and Khaleej Times, Delhi BJP leaders raised questions how the same article with the same photo by the same author can be published in two different papers.
Former Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari shared the pages of both the newspapers and said in Hindi, "Again it has been exposed, same word and same author in New York Times and Khaleej Times. AAP is misusing Delhi people's money to get the photo published by paying money."
BJP leader Kapil Mishra alleged that Kejriwal and Sisodia both are selling lies in India and abroad both. "By paying money, they got the news published but the habit of lying has not gone yet. This is not the photo of any Delhi government school but these students are from Mother Marry School of Mayur Vihar. Kejriwal and Sisodia are selling lies in India and abroad both," Mishra tweeted in Hindi.
While Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana called it 'advertisement in abroad'. "Advertisement in abroad too. The article which Arvind Kejriwal is referring in New York Times, the same to same words has been published in Khaleej Times. Same photo, same language. What an amazing vigyapanjeevi," Khurana tweeted in Hindi.&nbsp;

New Delhi: Reacting over the lookout notice issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday said, “I am roaming freely in Delhi. Tell me where to come.”
“All your raids have failed. Nothing has been found. Misappropriation of even a single penny was not found. Now you have issued a look out notice that Manish Sisodia is not available. What is this gimmick, Modi ji? I am roaming freely in Delhi, tell me where to come? I can’t find you?,” Sisodia said in a tweet in Hindi.
Earlier in the morning, the CBI issued look out circular (LOC) against 13 accused including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Sisodia is among the 13 people named as accused in an FIR registered by the CBI in connection with alleged irregularities in the implementation of the excise policy.
The CBI has made Sisodia accused number one in its FIR. The CBI’s FIR has been lodged under sections 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy) and 477-A (Falsification of accounts) of the IPC.
The allegations against Sisodia is that liquor businessmen were allegedly given exemption of Rs 30 crore. &nbsp;

New Delhi: Strongly attacking the Arvind Kejriwal government in the national capital, Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta on Sunday termed Manish Sisodia as the "Liquor Minister".
"It is seen for the first time in independent India that the Education Minister is the Liquor Minister," Adesh Gupta said in a press meeting.
He further alleged the excise policy of the Delhi government as a 'sinful, corrupt, and tyrannical policy.'
Gupta said, "Sisodia Ji, look out notice is issued on a person who is involved in criminal cases and corruption so that he does not run away from the country." Criticising Manish Sisodia and the excise policy for the alleged scam, he said pointing at Delhi Deputy CM, "you will be given a Look Out Circular not a Greeting Card for the corruption you've done."
The Kejriwal government should answer why did it benefit the liquor mafia with crores of rupees, he added further.
Gupta's strong remarks came after Sisodia in a tweet attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the "gimmick" of CBI raids at his residence for the excise policy scam case.
Earlier on Friday, Gupta had alleged that AAP had turned "furious" after the CBI raided the premises and residences of the people allegedly involved in the excise policy scam. "Sisodia, who was praising the new excise policy by highlighting the perks on 16 November 2021, took back his words in nine months on August 6 and said that there was a loss in Delhi's revenue due to this policy," Gupta had said on Friday.
Gupta also mentioned that day that the coming generations will remember how "the Chief Minister of Delhi made it a liquor city to fill his pockets at a time when the entire nation was battling the coronavirus pandemic."

New Delhi: Following a meeting of AAP MLAs and a visit to Rajghat on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he must have done good deeds in his past life and that's why he has someone like Manish Sisodia by his side.
"I must have done good deeds in my previous life, that's I've got someone like Manish Sisodia with me. He rejected their (BJP) offer," Kejriwal told reporters.&nbsp;
"The BJP sent a message to Manish Sisodia and asked him to leave AAP and Arvind Kejriwal. They wanted him to join BJP along with some other MLAs and they offered him the Chief Minister post," he added.
Kejriwal further said that the BJP had also offered the Deputy Chief Minister to shit all cases against the latter.
"I am very happy that not even a single MLA has accepted their (BJP) offer. I want to tell the people of Delhi that you have voted for an honest party, we will die but will never betray the people of the country.
"They have kept Rs 800 crore to bring down the Delhi government, 20 crore per MLA and trying to break party with 40 MLAs. The country wants to know that to whom does the 800 crore belong to and where is it kept? None of our MLAs are going anywhere. The government is stable. All the good work going on in Delhi will continue," he tweeted in Hindi.
In the party meeting held earlier in the day at Kejriwal's residence, out of the total 62 MLAs, 53 were in attendance and the remaining were on the phone.
Addressing the media, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said that BJP's 'Operation Lotus' had failed in Delhi.&nbsp;

New Delhi: Delhi minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday asked the Bharatiya Janata Party to share the purported sting featuring an accused in the excise policy case with the Central Bureau of Investigation and dared the probe agency to arrest him if the allegations are true.
He said if the Central Bureau of Investigation does not arrest him within four days, it will be accepted that the purported sting video is “yet another lie” and part of the conspiracy "hatched at the offices of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi” to topple the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi.
The deputy chief minister also demanded that the prime minister extend an apology accepting that it was wrong for his office to indulge in hatching such conspiracies if the CBI fails to arrest him till Monday based on the allegations made in the “so-called sting”.
Sisodia's reaction came after the BJP shared the purported sting to claim that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi framed its excise policy to help a select few and used the money earned through alleged corruption to fund its campaign in Goa and Punjab assembly polls.
The BJP showed the sting at a press conference in which a person linked to liquor trade is claiming that the Kejriwal government deliberately kept smaller players out of its "tailor-made" excise policy, now scrapped, to help a few persons mono-polise the market. Kejriwal has no moral right to continue as chief minister, the party said. “Since the CBI did not get anything from my residence and bank locker while carrying out searches, they have brought a new sting,” Sisodia told reporters at a press conference when asked for his comment on the sting. “I want to request the BJP to hand over this so-called sting right now to the CBI. The CBI, which is an extended branch of the BJP, should carry out a speedy investigation and must arrest me within four days, till Monday, if there is any truth in the sting,” he added.
He alleged that conspiracies like filing of fake CBI and ED cases as well as raids and searches by the central probe agencies are hatched "day and night" at the offices of the BJP and the prime minister to topple the other parties' governments in the states.
“If the CBI does not arrest me on the basis of the sting till Monday, it will be accepted that the sting was yet another lie and a part of the conspiracies hatched at offices of the BJP and the prime minister to topple state governments,” Sisodia said.
“And then, the prime minister should also apologise accepting that it was wrong for his office to indulge in hatching such conspiracies,” he added.
