New Delhi: Special Cell of Delhi Police recently became aware of the nexus of notorious gangster Neeraj Bawania and Tillu Tajpuria. Bawania and Tajpuria teamed up with different gangsters Kaushal Chaudhary, Davinder Bhambia, and Lucky Patial from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The Delhi Police had arrested about a dozen miscreants of this five-member gang in connection with the murder of Vicky.Those arrested were identified as sharpshooter Sajjan Singh alias Bholu, Anil Kumar alias Lath and Ajay Kumar alias Sunny Kaushal. During interrogation, the arrested trio had revealed about the involvement of a Moose Wala and his manager in the Vicky murder case. As per reports, Vicky was a close friend of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who is serving time in jail in Bharatpur, Rajasthan since 2017 for various crimes.In a post on his purported Facebook page, gangster Bishnoi has taken responsibility for the murder of singer Moose Wala. On Sunday, Punjab Director-General of Police VK Bhawra said that the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang was involved in Sidhu Moose Wala's murder.The Punjab DGP said that a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the matter. Bhawra informed that Moose Wala had a private bulletproof car and two police commandos, who did not accompany the singer when he was shot at. Addressing a press conference, Punjab DGP had said, "Lawrence Bishnoi gang is involved in this murder. Lucky, a member of the gang has taken responsibility from Canada. Three weapons were used.""He had four commandos from Punjab Police out of which two were taken back but he was having two commandos which Moose Wala didn't take along with him today. Sidhu Moose Wala had a private bulletproof car that he didn't take with him," he had added. "After leaving his home, when Sidhu Moose Wala was driving his car along with two others in Mansa district, two cars came from front and firing took place. He was injured and was taken to hospital where he was brought dead. It seems like an inter-gang rivalry. On the orders of the Chief Minister, the Inspector General range has been directed to form a Special Investigation Team. SSP Mansa and SSP Bathinda have been deployed there. ADG law and order has mobilised additional forces," Bhawra had said.Moose Wala, who was shot at in Punjab's Mansa on Sunday, was brought dead to the hospital, said Dr Ranjeet Rai, Civil Surgeon, Mansa Hospital. The incident took place a day after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab police among 424 others.Notably, the singer had joined the Congress party last year in December ahead of the Assembly elections.—ANI

Deoria: PUBG has claimed another life in Uttar Pradesh. A 20-year-old Arun Sharma has been arrested for murdering a six-year-old boy to take "revenge" from his grandfather who stopped him from playing online game PUBG.The six-year-old boy Sanskar Yadav used to come to Arun's grandfather Narsingh Sharma for tuitions.The boy did not return home on Wednesday night after tuitions and when his parents came to Sharma's house to inquire, they were told that Sanskar had not come for classes.The family informed the police and launched a search for the boy.On Thursday, family members saw the books and copies of Sanskar scattered in a field near his tutor's home. In one of the copies, there was a letter demanding a ransom of Rs five lakhs for Sanskar's safe return.Deoria SP Sankalp Sharma said on Friday that the police got all family members to give handwriting samples and one of them matched. The sample was of Arun Sharma who was then taken into custody and interrogated.During interrogation, he broke down and revealed that his grandfather often scolded him for playing online games and even refused to give him money.He said that when Sanskar came for classes, he kidnapped him and then strangulated him to death. He also sealed the boy's lip with adhesive to prevent him from screaming or raising an alarm.He then dumped the boy's body in a toilet outside their home with the intention of implicating his grandfather.The police have arrested the accused under the charges of murder, kidnapping for ransom, and causing of disappearance of evidence.Police have also seized his mobile phone and sent it for forensic examination. It may be recalled that last month, a 15-year-old boy had shot dead his mother when she scolded him from playing PUBG. —IANS

New Delhi News: An 18-year-old teenager was stabbed by two juveniles in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area following an old enmity, an official said on Tuesday, adding that the perpetrators have been apprehended.

The incident occurred at around 8 p.m on Monday.

"A PCR call was received regarding the stabbing incident at the C-Block market, Jahangirpuri, following which a police team rushed to the spot," said the senior police official.

The injured identified as Piyush, a resident of Jahangirpuri, was taken to hospital for treatment.

"A case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC was registered in Jahangirpuri police station and the two juveniles were apprehended," said the official, adding that a knife used in commission of crime was also recovered.

The official said that during initial investigation, it was revealed that the accused had an old enmity and in order to take revenge, they stabbed the victim.

"There is no communal angle in the incident. Further investigation is underway," the official added. IANS

Mysuru: Karnataka Police have cracked the kidnap and murder case of TikTok star from Bengaluru and detained eight persons in this connection.  The incident took place in the limits of Nanjangud Rural police station in Mysuru district.  The preliminary investigations have shown that the kidnap and murder was an act of revenge. The police have taken custody of a relative of a former corporator from Bengaluru and his associates.  Naveen, a TikTok star was involved in the murder case of one Vinod which took place in the limits of Kaggalipura police station in Bengaluru. Naveen was jailed and had come out on bail.  He made videos and became a TikTok star.  On August 27 the deceased was in Mysuru accompanied by two young women when a gang of miscreants kidnapped him.  Naveen was making reels in front of the famous historical Mysuru palace and the miscreants who came in a car and kidnapped him. His body was later found in Goluru channel near Nanjangud. The main accused is the nephew of a former corporator who is politically well connected, police said.  The police are yet to make an official announcement regarding the arrest/detention of the accused persons. Further investigation is on.

Hyderabad: Lakshmi Parvathi, widow of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao, paid tributes at his Samadhi here on Monday, a day after his son-in-law and former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu was sent to jail in an alleged skill development scam.  Lakshmi Parvathi, a leader of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Telugu and Sanskrit Academy, offered floral tributes at NTR Marg at Hussain Sagar lake.  Her visit to NTR’s Samadhi came a day after Naidu was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by a court in Vijayawada. He was shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail in the early hours of Monday.  Earlier, she told Telugu news channel ‘Sakshi’ that she could not sleep last night due to over excitement following the Vijayawada court’s order.  She said she had long been waiting for this moment. “I am happy as I had a feeling for a long time that these crooks have locked up the god of justice. Finally I have seen some justice,” she said  Lakshmi Parvathi is the second wife of actor-turned-politician N. T. Rama Rao, who was popularly known as NTR. The TDP founder had married Parvathi, who was writing his biography, in 1993.  NTR died of cardiac arrest on January 18, 1995, a few months after Chandarbabu Naidu led a revolt against him and became the chief minister. Naidu and NTR’s children from his first wife were angry over Parvathi’s growing interference in party affairs and the administration.  Parvathi, who went into political oblivion after NTR’s death, had said that her only wish is to see the political downfall of Naidu, the man she believes responsible for NTR’s untimely death.  Parvathi had celebrated Naidu’s defeat in 2004 when Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) led Congress stormed to power in the undivided Andhra Pradesh.  In 2012, she joined the YSRCP floated by YSR’s son Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.  After YSRCP came to power in Andhra Pradesh in 2019, ending the TDP rule, Lakshmi Parvathi was rewarded with the post of chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Telugu Academy.

Ayodhya: Two youths, carrying the body of a man wrapped in a polybag on a motorbike, fell on the ground when their bike skidded at an intersection in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.The incident happened on Saturday.
Panic and fear gripped Azadnagar-Ghatauli intersection in the Khandasa area of Ayodhya when locals saw a human hand jutting out of the bag.
Ayodhya Senior Superintendent of Police Raj Karan Nayyar said two youths who fled the scene were later arrested. They were allegedly going to dispose of the body in a nearby stream.
“The duo had wrapped the body of Shaqib, 35, a resident of Parsauli village of Rudauli Kotwali of Ayodhya, in a polybag and were taking it on a bike. However, their bike skidded, and they fell. They fled the scene leaving the bag behind as they saw locals gathering on the spot,” said Nayyar.
The body had injury marks on the head, said police.
The SSP said the bike was registered in the name of the deceased who was an occultist. While his three brothers had died, his wife, too, had left him some time ago.
Ayodhya additional SP Atul Sonkar said the initial probe revealed that Shaqib was a paedophile. He was arrested two years ago and sent to jail for sexually exploiting minors. He was released on bail a year ago.
It is suspected that the arrested youths (whose identities have not been revealed yet) wanted to take revenge for Shaqib’s immoral acts.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and a detailed probe is on, he added.

Chandigarh (Punjab): Asserting that this is 'Badla ki Rajneeti' (politics of revenge), Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Thursday said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has become thirsty for blood.  Khaira was speaking outside the court complex in Fazilka, where he was produced by the Punjab police after his arrest on Thursday morning. Khaira was arrested in connection with an old case registered in 2015 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.  
Speaking to reporters Khair alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann could even get him killed.  "They used to say that we are doing "Badlaav ki Rajneeti" but they are doing "Badla ki Rajneeti". Bhagwant Mann has become thirsty for blood," Khaira said. "I will not be surprised if he gets me eliminated also. I sense something very very dangerous and I personally feel Bhagwant Mann will be solely responsible," he added. Khaira further said that Bhagwant Mann is not able to tolerate the pouplarity of the Congress in Punjab. He claimed that the AAP had arrested him in an effort to marginalise the Congress in Punjab. "I will fight back and will not get scared of them. Ultimately the truth will prevail," Khaira said.  Meanwhile, in view of the detention of Punjab Congress leader Khaira, the Punjab Congress delegation will meet Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit at 6 pm.  Earlier in 2015, there were two cases originated with the unearthing of a cross-border drug smuggling network in Fazilka, Punjab, leading to the seizure of heroin, gold biscuits, weapons, cartridges, and Pakistani SIM cards and the second of a fake passport racket being run in Delhi. As the trial went on, nine smugglers, including Gurdev Singh, Manjit Singh, Harbans Singh, and Subhash Chander, were sentenced in October 2017 in connection with the Fazilka case. As per the chargesheet, Khaira was closely associated with Gurdev Singh, the leader of the Fazilka drug smuggling racket, and is accused of having sheltered him. The primary accusations against Khaira include supporting an international gang of smugglers, having sheltered him and receiving financial benefits from drug traffickers, and enjoying the proceeds of crime. On February 16, 2023, a Supreme Court bench of Justices BR Gavai and Vikram Nath quashed the summoning order against Khaira in the drugs case. The arrest of Sukhpal Khaira is expected to further dent the relations of AAP and the Congress which have come together to form the INDIA alliance at the centre. The state unit of the Congress has opposed any tie-up or seat-sharing arrangement with the AAP in Punjab.

Mumbai: Disney+ Hotstar on Friday unveiled its new series Karmma Calling, starring actor Raveena Tandon in the lead.
The show, which will debut on the streamer's platform on January 26, 2024, is based on the popular American series Revenge, which aired from 2011-2015 and was produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.  It is adapted and directed by Ruchi Narain of Guilty fame.  Set in the world of glitz and glamour, filled with deceit and betrayal, Karmma Calling will feature Tandon as Indrani Kothari, the reigning queen of the Alibaug society.
Tandon, who made her series debut with the 2021 show Aranyak, said she has not played a character like Indrani Kothari in a long time.  "Karmma Calling is definitely more than what meets the eye and explores different facets of the world of the rich. Collaborating with Disney+ Hotstar was a great experience and playing Indrani helped me explore more for myself as an actor. It is a never-seen-before and never done before role and I am looking forward to audience reactions," the 51-year-old actor said.  Narain said Karmma Calling is set against the backdrop of the ultra rich and affluent Kothari family and all that conspires around them in their world.  "The series has massive grandeur, scale and a glamorous outlook with a story that weaves in revenge, deceit, betrayals and also navigates experiences of the Kothari family. The series is definitely going to be your ‘guilty pleasure’ watch and leave you craving for more. This is electoral bond loot and because of that they also closed our account and then the Prime Minister said that the Congress is insulting me," the Congress leader said while speaking to ANI in Varanasi. "This is a thing of wonder because if there is one person in our country who is engaged in insulting his opponents every day, it is him. The Prime Minister does not know anything except the politics of vengeance, the politics of harassment, the politics of threats. They are like your accounts have been seized, how will you proceed now," Jairam Ramesh said. He further accused the BJP of 'double standards' referring to the recent inclusion of leaders who have left Congress. Russia, Germany and Britain on Thursday urged countries in the Middle East to show restraint and Israel said it was preparing to "meet all its security needs" in a region on edge over an Iranian threat to strike Israel.
The German airline Lufthansa, one of only two Western carriers flying to Tehran, extended a suspension of its flights to the Iranian capital and Russia warned against travel to the Middle East.  Iran has vowed revenge for the April 1 airstrike on its embassy compound in Damascus that killed a top Iranian general and six other Iranian military officers, ratcheting up tension in a region already strained by the Gaza war.  Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack, but Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday Israel 'must be punished and it shall be', saying it was tantamount to an attack on Iranian soil.  The 'imperative for Iran to punish this rogue regime' might have been avoided had the UN Security Council condemned the strike and brought the perpetrators to justice, Tehran's mission to the United Nations said on Thursday.  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was keeping up its war in Gaza but making security preparations elsewhere.  "Whoever harms us, we will harm them. We are prepared to meet all of the security needs of the State of Israel, both defensively and offensively," he said in comments released following a visit to an air force base.
Iran has signalled to Washington that it will respond to Israel's attack in a way that aims to avoid major escalation and it will not act hastily, Iranian sources said.  Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant told US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that Israel would respond directly to any attack by Iran, Gallant's office said.  Conflict has spread across the Middle East since the eruption of the Gaza war, with Iran-backed groups declaring support for the Palestinians waging attacks from Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq. Tehran has avoided direct confrontation with Israel or the United States, while declaring support for its allies.  German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called on her Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian to urge "maximum restraint" to avoid further escalation.  Russia's foreign ministry told citizens they should not travel to the Middle East, especially to Israel, Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.  "Right now it's very important for everyone to maintain restraint so as not to lead to a complete destabilisation of the situation in the region, which doesn't exactly shine with stability and predictability," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told a news briefing.
'Potential for miscalculation'  British foreign minister David Cameron said on Thursday he had made clear to Amirabdollahian that Iran should not draw the Middle East into a wider conflict.  "I am deeply concerned about the potential for miscalculation leading to further violence," Cameron said on X.  US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said Secretary of State Antony Blinken called counterparts including the Turkish, Chinese and Saudi foreign ministers "to make clear that escalation is not in anyone's interest and that countries should urge Iran not to escalate."  US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday Iran was threatening to launch a "significant attack in Israel", and that he had told Netanyahu that "our commitment to Israel security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is iron-clad".  The US expects an attack by Iran against Israel but one that would not be big enough to draw Washington into war, a US official said late on Thursday.  The US military said on Thursday it had destroyed an anti-ship ballistic missile launched from an area of Yemen controlled by Iran-backed Houthi militia. No injuries or damage were reported to US, coalition or merchant vessels.  Iran is the third-largest oil producer in the OPEC group and oil prices stayed near six-month highs on Thursday.
Late on Wednesday, an Iranian news agency published an Arabic report on the X platform saying the air space over Tehran had been closed for military drills, but then removed the report and denied it had issued such news.  Lufthansa said it would probably not fly to Tehran before April 13. Austrian Airlines said it was still planning to fly on Thursday but was adjusting timings to avoid crew having to disembark for an overnight layover.  Iranian air space is also a key overflight route for Emirates' and Qatar Airways' flights to Europe and North America.  Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Aeroflot and Air Arabia, among the airlines that fly to Tehran, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
