Mumbai (The Hawk): According to the movie's director Siddharth Anand, the next movie "Pathaan" starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has a strong connection to Tom Cruise from Hollywood.
Siddharth stated: "You need a champion team that is unified in the vision when one sets out to make the spectacle action picture of India with one of our country's all-time biggest icons, Shah Rukh Khan.
I was thrilled to have someone like Casey O'Neill, who has extensively worked with Tom Cruise, by our side. "Thank goodness we had an A-team that came together to push the visual envelope with Pathaan," the director said.
Tom Cruise's death-defying stunts in movies like Jack Reacher, the Mission Impossible series, and "Top Gun: Maverick" were created by Emmy award-nominated Casey, who is also known as one of Hollywood's best action directors. Casey has also collaborated with Marvel Studios and Steven Spielberg, to name a few.
"He comes in a wealth of knowledge," Siddharth continues about Casey, "and he immediately bought into the notion of generating edge-of-your-seat action for Pathaan that could equal what he's done back home in Hollywood."
"Pathaan's creation by Casey is absolutely astounding. You will have to watch the movie to find out because we won't reveal any plot points until after its 25 January theatrical premiere.

Bhopal (The Hawk): The upcoming Bollywood film "Pathaan," starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, may encounter difficulties in Madhya Pradesh because both the government and the opposition have voiced concerns about the actor's saffron outfit.
State Home Minister Narottam Mishra called the clothes and actions in the movie "obscene and condemnable" in response to the movie trailers on Wednesday. If it is not fixed, the state government will be compelled to decide whether or not to screen the movie.
The saffron outfit Deepika Padukone wore in the song "besharam ring" has drawn criticism. The song, which was released on Tuesday, is popular on social media.
Narottam Mishra, a state home minister, responded to the incident by saying, "Deepika Padukone, the actress, is wearing a very offensive outfit, and the song was recorded with a nasty attitude. The songs' situations and outfits need to be adjusted, else we'll have to decide whether to screen it in Madhya Pradesh "Mishra alleged that the actress had aided the "Tukde Tukde" gang.
Notably, the opposition leader in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Govind Singh, has also voiced his displeasure with the song's costumes. "The song's scenes and costumes are abhorrent in every way. Such behaviour is not appropriate in Indian culture "Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Singh stated.
A demonstration was organised against the movie by the right-wing Sanskriti Bachao Manch, which dubbed saffron "a shameful colour with vulgarity." Sanskriti Bachao Manch activists criticised Deepika Padukone's attire because she was seen donning saffron-colored clothing.
According to Chandrashekhar Tiwari, "Our saffron dress is being insulted, and Sanskruti Bachao Manch will not stand for it. Shahrukh Khan, you thought of Vaishno Devi when Hindus began to boycott your movie. Because Indians made you famous, you will need to apologise to all Hindus and take the song out of this movie. Why do you constantly tarnish your reputation, Shahrukh Khan, by engaging in such behaviour? You should apologise to every adherent of Sanatan Dharma."

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" kept up its streak of breaking box office records by earning Rs 429 crore gross worldwide in four days, according to the production company Yash Raj Films (YRF) on Sunday.
YRF says that the high-octane spy thriller made Rs 53.25 crore net in India (Hindi and all dubbed versions), bringing the total domestic gross to Rs 64 crore. On Wednesday, "Pathaan" also releasedt in Tamil and Telugu.
"'Pathaan hit another 100 crore+ day on its 4th day, as it registered Rs 53.25 crore nett in India (Hindi, all dubbed versions), taking the India gross to Rs 64 crore. "

Mumbai: The spy thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan, "Pathaan," made Rs 542 crore in just five days, making it the "biggest opening weekend" grosser in the history of Hindi film.
The five-day Republic Day weekend brought in an additional Rs 60.75 crore nett for "Pathaan" in India (Hindi: Rs 58.5 crore, all dubbed versions: Rs 2.25 crore), bringing the total India gross to Rs 70 crore, as reported by Yash Raj Films (YRF). With today's Rs 42 crore in overseas gross, the film has earned a grand total of Rs 112 crore in its fourth day of release.

Mumbai: Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan, whose film Shehzada is set to hit theatres this week, is happy with the blockbuster success of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and hopes that it will inspire audiences to go to theatres.

The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actor, on a promotional tour for his latest film in the city here, said he is confident that they have made a good film in Shehzada, the Hindi remake of 2020 Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

"I think we made a good film, and automatically when someone will watch the film he will like our movie. There is nothing like being overshadowed. It is a good thing that Pathaan has done wonderfully well, that is good for industry. It achieved historic figures and that will inspire audiences to go to theatres more," Aaryan told reporters.

To a question if there is an increasing trend of Bollywood movies being adapted from either Hollywood and Southern blockbusters, Aaryan said many South films are also adapted from Hindi movies.

"Remember the remake of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was done in South. Pyaar Ka Punchnama was an original movie which inspired producers of South for adapting. There are other examples also. It is a big myth (that only Hindi films are adaptations from original ones made by southern film industry).

"There is also a great demand for several Hindi stories and writers in South... If there is a good story, producers and directors want to make it for their audiences," he added.

Asked how much he has evolved as an actor over the years, the actor said he has not changed much as a person.

"Situations have, of course, changed and my struggle has also changed relatively. But my core strength remains the same. I am still learning and there is a long way to go," the actor said.

"I just wish people around me don't turn into yes men, and I am happy they haven't," he added.

On a question of nepotism, Aaryan said he did not face anything but "when you don't know someone, only hard work counts".

"I would have never wanted it any other way. If I ever have to start my journey again, I will undertake my complete journey in the same way as I did from start," Aaryan said.

The actor has turned co-producer with Shehzada but it is not something on the cards for him anytime soon.

Aaryan thanked Salman Khan for praising the song Character Dheela, which is a remake of a song from Salman's film Ready.

"He (Salman) was gracious enough... one song in my film is the recreated version of one of his iconic songs.. It is a big honour (sic)."

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Allu Arvind, Aman Gill and Aaryan.

Rohit Dhawan, known for films such as Desi Boyz and Dishoom, has directed the film.

Also starring Kriti Sanon, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Ronit Roy, and Sachin Khedekar, the film is set to be released February 17.

Mumbai: IMDb made a list of the most popular films and web series so far in the middle of 2023. The list includes Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' and Shahid Kapoor's 'Farzi'.
By now, Pathaan tops the list of the most popular Indian films of 2023, followed by Salman Khan's 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi ki Jaan'  and Adah Sharma-starrer ‘The Kerala Story’ is on the third spot.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Mission Majnu, and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga are ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.
It is followed by ‘Bloody Daddy’, ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’, ‘Varisu’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part Two’.

‘Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo’ is ranked on the seventh followed by ‘Taaza Khabara’, ‘Taj: Divided By Blood’ and ‘Rocket Boys’.

New Delhi: Atlee's 'Jawan' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupati has beaten the record of this year's previous mega SRK-starrer, 'Pathaan', to notch up the highest-ever domestic opening day collection for a Hindi film.
Based on preliminary reports, which are bound to be revised as the day progresses, the trade website Sacnilk reports that the net earnings of 'Jawan' (that is, total ticket minus 18 per cent GST) added up to Rs 65 crore, a substantial Rs 10 crore more than 'Pathaan'.
The year's other big blockbuster, 'Gadar 2', starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, netted Rs 40.1 crore on its opening day.
'Jawan' is also reported to have netted Rs 5 crore each from the Tamil and Telugu markets, making its pickings on the first day total up to Rs 75 crore.&nbsp;
According to Sacnilk, 'Jawan' drew an average 58.67 per cent occupancy across cinemas, with the evening and night shows showing a rapid pickup. The highest average occupancy, 81 per cent, was reported from Chennai, the home base of director Atlee as well as superstars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupati. Hyderabad and Kolkata were not far behind; Delhi-NCR also reported a 60 per cent-plus average occupancy.

It also features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover.  Dunki earned Rs 30 crore India net on its first day for all languages,' the website reported.
The Rajkumar Hirani-directorial film marks Shah Rukh's third and last release of 2023 following back-to-back action blockbusters in Pathaan and Jawan.
The day one earnings of Dunki is significantly lower than both Pathaan and Jawan, which had amassed Rs 55 crore and Rs 65.5 crore nett on their opening days in India respectively. The two movies went on to earn over Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box office.  Billed as a saga of friendships, borders, nostalgia for home and love, Dunki is directed by Hirani from a script he co-wrote with Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon.
