New Delhi (The Hawk) : The NMDC and Hyderabad Runners Society along with IDFC First Bank and Government of Telangana launched the logo and unveiled the race t-shirt for the 2022 edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon yesterday. The national mining major, NMDC has taken up the Title Sponsorship of the Hyderabad Marathon to be held on 27th and 28th August this year. The Face of NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2022 - Ms Nikhat Zareen, World Champion Boxer virtually connected to the event. Shri Sumit Deb CMD, NMDC; Shri Naarayan TV, CMO, IDFC FIRST Bank; and Race Director Mr. Prashant Morparia were present during the launch ceremony and ensuing Press Meet.<img src="https://static.pib.gov.in/WriteReadData/userfiles/image/Photo-12july20223PYD.JPG">The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2022 and curtain-raiser will run through the heart of the city anticipates 15,000 runners, health and fitness enthusiasts taking part, and will engage 3500 volunteers, 250 medical personnel, city officials and the police force. A Mini Marathon was organized at Clement town on August 2 to commemorate the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The events organized under the Mini Marathon were 10 Km Mini Marathon, 5 Km Run and 2.5 Km Run for Ladies and Children also.

Pune: The Pune Half Marathon is set to make a grand comeback with its third edition announced for November 27, 2022 and registrations for which have begun in full swing.
This year, the event has also declared prize money of approximately Rs 28 lakh, up from Rs 21 lakh in the second edition, to be won across its race categories.&nbsp;
After a pandemic-induced break of two years, the marquee event of Pune's long-distance running is making a comeback and the race organisers have announced Rs 10 lakh prize for national records in the half-marathon category, for both men and women.
The Pune Half Marathon primarily features four categories, which include the half marathon (21.1km), a 10km run, a 5km run and a 3km (family and fun) run.
Vikas Singh, CEO APG Running and Fitpage said, "It gives us immense pleasure to announce the return of the half marathon. We promise our participants, volunteers and spectators that their wait of two years will be made worthwhile with a best-in-class experience this year. Also for the first time, we are introducing the fitpage app, a technology-driven endurance-first platform, for the participants. This will ensure that participants understand their current fitness levels better and start training using methods that are best suited for each individual. We are confident that the third edition is destined for a grand success."
The first edition of the half marathon saw over 15,000 registrations and the second, held in 2019, saw more than 20,000 running enthusiasts participate. Kenyan Janet Cherobon-Bawcom, the 2011 Boston Half Marathon champion, was the brand ambassador in the second edition.&nbsp;

Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off and then also took part in Dehradun Marathon 2022 organised by Uttarakhand Police on Sunday.
The founder of Hans Foundation, Mata Mangala was also present on the occasion.
Dehradun Marathon was organized on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday, known as National Unity Day along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to realize the dream of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat and Uttarakhand Chief Minister's campaign to make Devbhoomi drug free by 2025.
The theme for Dehradun Marathon was RUN FOR UNITY and RUN AGAINST DRUGS.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhami said, "Today we resolve to make the state drug-free by 2025. We resolve to create awareness about the ill effects of drugs among all, especially the youth."
Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi will visit Kevadia, Gujrat, on Sunday to pay homage to the Iron man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 147th birth anniversary.
Post that he will be participating in the Ekta Diwas Parade and will interact with Officer Trainees belonging to various Civil Services undergoing the Foundation Course at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' is being celebrated across the country on Sunday on the occasion of the 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Guwahati (The Hawk): The inaugural Northeast Half Marathon will be held in Guwahati on February 5 of next year, according to announcements made on Friday by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
The NFR and Innovations India Pvt Ltd have partnered to host the first-ever Northeast Half Marathon. The Northeastern region's sports infrastructure will be developed, and athletes will be empowered by the Half Marathon.
The Northeast Half Marathon, according to NFR CPRO Sabyasachi De, would be a series of marathons held in the northeast with the goal of empowering athletes and growing sporting engagement in this area.
He stated that the first marathon in the anticipated series will be place in Maligaon on February 5th, and that it is anticipated that some 3,000 runners from all across India and abroad will take part.
Along with trophies, medals, and certificates, the winners will also receive prizes totaling Rs 11 lakh.
The Marathon's prospective participants will be able to sign up both online and offline.
According to De, the NE Half Marathon would promote the Northeast as a whole and thrust this area into the spotlight on both national and international platforms.
Anshul Gupta, General Manager of NFR, stated that in addition to boosting tourism and connectivity, the NFR also promotes athletic events in a number of locations under its purview.
Captain Rahul Bali, the event's curator, praised the Railways for taking the initiative.

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday flagged off the marathon "Thank Modi ji for G-20 in Uttarakhand" organized at Jogiwala and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister for providing three G-20 meetings to the state. The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand that the state has got three G-20 meetings. One of these meetings has been successfully organized in Ramnagar, he said On behalf of all the people of the state, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Uttarakhand getting three G-20 meetings. He said that India's respect and self-respect have increased at the global level under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. "India is fast moving towards becoming a world guru. India has got the presidency of G-20 this year and its meetings are being organized at different places in the country. This is a good opportunity for us to take our cultural heritage to the global level," he added. He also said that the coming 25 years are very important for the country. While addressing the marathon, the Chief Minister said that "We are moving forward with the resolution of the new Uttarakhand. Everyone has to move forward unitedly to bring Uttarakhand among the leading states of the country." He said that along with environmental protection, "we have to take forward our rich cultural heritage." Mumbai: Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar flagged off the Mumbai Half Marathon on Sunday.  The presence of the legendary cricketer made the ambience at the event even more exciting and one to remember for local residents, who participated in the marathon.  The event was organised by Ageas Federal Life Insurance. Talking about the increased level of participation in such marathons, Sachin told media persons, "It is a reflection of how we are thinking and taking our health seriously. It s a positive step towards a healthy nation." Over the course of an illustrious career, Sachin played 664 matches for India, scoring 34,357 runs at an average of 48.52, with 100 centuries and 164 fifties and the best score of 248*.  He remains the leading international run-scorer of all time and is the only player with 100 international tons. In 200 Tests, he has 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78, with best score of 248*. He has 51 centuries and 78 fifties in the format.  In 463 ODIs, he has scored 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83, with 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries and best score of 200*. He is the first player to score an ODI double ton.  He has also scored 10 runs in one T20I he played.  He also has 201 international wickets. (ANI)

Mumbai: During the TATA Mumbai Marathon a somber incident occurred, leading to the loss of two participants. This included a 74 year man leaving the running community in shock and sorrow.  The incident took place when Suvradeep Banerjee, a marathoner and software engineer, from Kolkata collapsed near the Haji Ali Junction. Simultaneously Rajendra Bora from Mumbai met an end on the road to a popular pizza joint near Marine Drive.  While the exact cause of their collapse is yet to be determined initial reports suggest dehydration and related issues. Furthermore 22 participants were rushed to hospitals for treatment due to health concerns during Sundays marathon.  Banerjee and Bora have been identified as individuals who couldn't overcome the challenges of this demanding race. Their untimely demise has cast a shadow over the atmosphere of the marathon prompting organizers to reevaluate safety measures, for future events.  Despite these events Ethiopian runners showcased their skills by dominating the Mumbai Marathon. Hayle Lemi Berhanu successfully defended his title in the mens category while Aberash Minsewo emerged victorious in the womens category. The entire city is filled with sorrow, for the loss of two individuals. At the time we are celebrating the exceptional accomplishments of the winners.
