The Centre helps track daily online attendance of teachers and students, undertake centralized summative and periodic assessments of learning outcome of students etc. The Command and Control Centre for Schools has been deemed a global best practice by the World Bank, which has also invited other countries to visit and learn about it.PM at Banas Dairy Sankul in Diyodar, BanaskanthaPrime Minister will dedicate to the nation a new dairy complex and potato processing plant at Diyodar, Banaskantha district, built at a cost of over Rs. 600 crores, on 19th April, at around 9:40 AM. The new dairy complex is a greenfield project. It will enable the processing of about 30 lakh litres of milk, produce about 80 tonnes of butter, one lakh litres of ice cream, 20 tonnes of condensed milk (Khoya) and 6 tonnes of chocolate daily. The potato processing plant will produce different types of processed potato products like french fries, potato chips, aloo tikki, patties etc, many of which will be exported in other countries. These plants will empower the local farmers and give a boost to the rural economy in the region.Prime Minister will also dedicate the Banas Community Radio Station to the nation. This&nbsp;Community Radio Station has been established to provide farmers key scientific information related to agriculture and animal husbandry. It is expected that the radio station will connect with over 5 lakh farmers of about 1700 villages.&nbsp;Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the expanded facilities for the production of cheese products and whey powder at the Banas dairy plant in Palanpur. It will help bring together industry leaders, academicians and scholars together and act as a platform for future collaborations.PM in Adijati Maha Sammelan, DahodPrime Minister will attend the Adijati Maha Sammelan in Dahod on 20th April at around 3:30 PM, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth around Rs 22,000 crore. The Sammelan is expected to witness participation of over 2 lakh people.Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth over Rs 1400 crore. He will inaugurate Dahod District Southern Area Regional Water Supply Scheme, constructed on Narmada River Basin, worth around Rs 840 crore. It will cater to the water supply needs of around 280 villages in Dahod District and Devgadh Baria city. Prime Minister will also inaugurate five projects of Dahod Smart City worth around Rs 335 crore. These projects include Integrated Command &amp; Control Centre (ICCC) Building, Storm water drainage system, Sewerage works, Solid Waste Management System and Rain Water Harvesting System. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, benefits worth&nbsp;Rs. 120 crore will be provided to 10,000 tribals of Panchmahal and Dahod districts. Prime Minister will also inaugurate 66 KV Ghodia substation, Panchayat Houses, Anganwadis, among others.&nbsp;Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for manufacturing of 9000 HP Electric Locomotives at the Production Unit in Dahod. The cost of the project is around Rs. 20,000 crore. Dahod workshop, established in 1926 for periodic overhaul of steam locomotives, will be upgraded to electric locomotive manufacturing unit with infrastructural improvements. It will provide direct and indirect employment to over 10,000 people. Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of various projects of the State government worth around Rs 550 crore. This includes water supply related projects worth about Rs. 300 crore, Dahod Smart City projects worth around Rs. 175 crores, works related to Dudhimati river project, GETCO Substation at Ghodia, among others.

New Delhi (The Hawk): The first ever Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit (GAIIS) at Gandhinagar concluded on a high note last night, with the AYUSH sector witnessing Letter of Intents (LoIs) of over Rs 9,000 crores.&nbsp;The investment proposals have come across major categories like FMCG, Medical Value Travel (MVT) and services, pharmaceuticals, technology &amp; diagnostics, and farmers &amp; agriculture.During the summit, more than 70 MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) were signed between countries, prestigious research institutes, the farmers groups and industry.&nbsp;Other than international exchanges, an MoU was signed between the Ministry of AYUSH and Ministry of Defence to start AYUSH facilities in over 35 cantonment areas across India.Speaking at the valedictory function, Union Minister for AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Summit has been instrumental in developing an enabling framework to attract investments in the sector. “The investors and the entrepreneurs of the whole world have realized the comparative advantages which AYUSH is offering, and its strengths” he added. Shri Sonowal further said the investment and innovation opportunities in the field of AYUSH are limitless.Also speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Sport &amp; Youth Affairs and Information &amp; Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur said the market size of the AYUSH has witnessed a quantum jump from just over $3 billion in 2014 to $ 18 billion today, clocking a phenomenal annual growth of 75%.&nbsp;The Minister expressed hope that the country will soon see many Start-ups and businesses investing in this sector.&nbsp;To encourage competition, Shri Anurag Thakur said we need better packaging of our products and this should be complemented with aggressive marketing and branding.The Minister further remarked that “The time has come for India to become Vishwa Guru in traditional medicine. We must work in the spirit of One Earth, One Health and promote Heal in India, making our country the hub of medical tourism” The Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat was the Chief Guest at the valedictory session of the Summit. Gandhinagar (the Hawk): Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar’s Curiosity Lab is hosting an online camp for school students of classes 8 to 12 besides teachers, parents, and scholars of education to inspire, encourage exploration and build curiosity.The sessions aim to introduce students to the stories of people who have taken up new and exciting professions and succeeded. The idea is to enable students to learn that inspiration can strike from anywhere, be it a book, a person or a movement and that such inspiring stories could be found all around. However, one rarely hears from the person who had lived through that story. The people who inspire someone today was also once inspired by others.They came across stories that they resonated with and found the motivation to grow into a leader, influencer, change-maker to create an impact that inspires the next generation. Through Camp Inspire, IIT Gandhinagar brings together some incredible individuals who took unique paths and chose to follow their passions despite many obstacles. Curiosity Lab conducts scientific research to understand how to improve curiosity among students while learning. New Delhi (The Hawk): The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi flagged off Gandhinagar- Mumbai Vande Bharat Express at Gandhinagar station and travelled on the train from there to Kalupur Railway Station today. When he arrived at Gandhinagar station, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, Union Minister of Railways, Shri Ashvini Vaishnav, and Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri. The Prime Minister inspected the train coaches of the Vande Bharat Express 2.0 and took stock of the onboard facilities. Shri Modi also inspected the control centre of the locomotive engine of Vande Bharat Express 2.0. The Prime Minister then flagged off the new &amp; upgraded version of Vande Bharat Express between Gandhinagar and Mumbai and travelled on the train from there to Kalupur Railway Station. The Prime Minister also interacted with his co-passengers including those from the family members of Railways staff, women entrepreneurs and researchers and youngsters. He also interacted with workers, engineers and other staff who toiled to make Vande Bharat trains a shining success. Vande Bharat Express 2.0 between Gandhinagar and Mumbai is going to be a game changer and will boost connectivity between the two business hubs of India. It will enable business owners from Gujarat to travel to Mumbai and vice versa without bearing the brunt of high-cost airline tickets while availing facilities that are available on air. One-way travel time of Vande Bharat Express 2.0 from Gandhinagar to Mumbai is estimated at around five and a half hours.
The Vande Bharat Express 2.0 offers a myriad of superior and aircraft-like travelling experiences. It is equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features including an indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System - KAVACH. Vande Bharat 2.0 will be equipped with more advancements and improved features such as reaching the speed of 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 52 seconds, and a maximum speed up to 180 kilometres per hour. The improved Vande Bharat Express will weigh 392 tons when compared to the previous version of 430 tons. It will also have a Wi-Fi content on-demand facility. Every coach is equipped with 32” screens providing passenger information and infotainment compared to 24” in the previous version. Vande Bharat Express is also going to be environment friendly as the ACs will be 15 per cent more energy efficient. With dust-free clean air cooling of the traction motor, the travel will become more comfortable. Side recliner seat facility which was provided only to Executive Class passengers earlier will now be made available for all classes. Executive Coaches have the added feature of 180-degree rotating seats In the new design of Vande Bharat Express, a photo-catalytic ultraviolet air purification system is installed in the Roof-Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) for air purification. As recommended by Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, this system is designed and installed on both ends of RMPU to filter and clean the air free from germs, bacteria, viruses etc. coming through fresh air and return air.

PM Modi, who arrived in Gandhinagar early this morning, set his mother Heeraben Modi's mortal remains ablaze alongside his brothers.
Those in attendance at Hiraba Modi's final rites were Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, previous CM Vijay Rupani, and cabinet ministers.
After paying her respects at her Raysan residence when he arrived in Gujarat this morning, PM Modi brought the bier containing her mortal remains to the cremation for the last rites.
According to a hospital announcement, Heeraben Modi, 100, passed away this morning at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center in Ahmedabad about 3:30 am. After her health deteriorated, she was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
Early on Friday morning, the prime minister broke the news of her passing to the country.
The Prime Minister released an emotional tweet early this morning informing the public of her passing "God's feet are resting on a wonderful century. I've always sensed in Maa the trinity of an ascetic's journey, the image of a selfless Karmayogi, and a life dedicated to moral principles."
PM Modi recalled the time he visited his mother, on her 100th birthday this year.

Many politicians and officials sent their condolences for the passing of Prime Minister Modi's mother.
Rajnath Singh, the minister of defence, expressed his sorrow and emphasised the importance of mothers in people's lives, saying that their absence is "difficult to fill."
"The death of Hira Ba, the mother of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, has left me in great sorrow. A mother's death creates a hole in a person's life that is impossible to replace. The mother of the Prime Minister passed away at the age of 100, and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed his condolences, saying that she embodied simplicity and high standards of living.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Pujya Hiraba, mother of the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi. Pujya Hiraba was the personification of generosity, simplicity, toil, and high moral standards. I ask God to grant peace to her soul. Shanti AUM, "In a loose translation from Gujarati, Patel tweeted.
The prime minister visited his mother, who turned 100 this June, while campaigning ahead of the recently held Gujarat assembly elections.
In the second round of the elections for the Gujarat Assembly, Heeraben had also cast a ballot.
The Prime Minister will join in today's events in West Bengal via video conference later in the day, his office announced on Friday.
The prime minister was expected to travel to West Bengal to inaugurate development initiatives, like as the Vande Bharat Express, and to attend a National Ganga Council meeting.
The Prime Minister was slated to formally dedicate projects totaling more than 7,800 crores in West Bengal.

The projects include laying the foundation stone and inaugurating development projects worth over Rs 2450 crores such as Urban Development Department, Water Supply Department, Road and Transport Department and Mines and Minerals Department. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of PMAY (rural and urban) projects worth around Rs 1950 crores and participated in Gruh Pravesh of around 19,000 houses built under the scheme by handing over keys to beneficiaries of the scheme during the program. He also interacted with the beneficiaries via video link.
Addressing the gathering congratulated the beneficiaries. He said that for him nation building is an ongoing ‘Maha Yagya’. He expressed satisfaction at the pace of development in Gujarat under the government formed after the recent election. He mentioned the recent pro-poor Gujarat Budget of 3 lakh crore. He praised the state for leading the spirit of ‘priority to the deprived’.&nbsp;
The Prime Minister listed some recent initiatives in the state like 25 lakh Ayushman cards, help to 2 lakh mothers from PM Matru Vandana Scheme, 4 new medical colleges and works worth thousands of crore for modern infrastructure. This shows, the Prime Minister said, that the double engine government of Gujarat is working with double speed.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The Prime Minister said that the people have been experiencing unprecedented development in the last 9 years. He recalled a time when even basic facilities were rare for the citizens. He said that the country is coming out of that despondency.&nbsp;
He said that the government is trying to reach everyone and efforts are on for the 100 percent saturation of benefits of the schemes. “For us, the development of the country is a conviction and a commitment”, the Prime Minister remarked as he underlined that the government is striving for the saturation of all government schemes. This approach by the government, the Prime Minister said, has put an end to corruption and discrimination. “The true meaning of secularism is when there is no discrimination at all”, the Prime Minister said as he stated that social justice occurs when the government works towards the benefit of everyone in the society. Informing that roughly 32,000 homes have been completed and handed over to the beneficiaries in the last year, the Prime Minister underlined that the self-confidence of the poor gets a huge boost when they are least worried about the basic necessities of life.&nbsp;
“The country cannot transform its fate and become a developed nation by moving forward on the path of failed policies”, the Prime Minister underlined as he highlighted the differences between the work culture of the present government and the governments of the past. Throwing light on the statistics of the last decade, the Prime Minister pointed out that roughly 75 percent of homes in rural areas lacked the facility of a toilet even though policies were already in place. After 2014, the Prime Minister continued, the government did not limit itself to only providing a roof for the poor but turned the homes into a basis for tackling poverty and a medium for strengthening their dignity. “Under PMAY, the beneficiaries have a say in the construction of houses where the government transfers the financial aid directly into their bank accounts”, the Prime Minister said as he touched upon the geotagging of such houses.&nbsp;
The Prime Minister said that the houses being constructed under the PMAY are a package of many schemes. This house has a toilet under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Electricity connection under Saubhagya scheme, free LPG connection under Ujjwala scheme, piped wanted under JJM, he said. He said apart from these things, free medical treatment and free ration are also working as a security shield for the poor.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
The Prime Minister also touched upon women empowerment under PMAY. He informed that in the last 9 years, about 4 crore houses have been handed over to poor families. 70 percent of which are registered in the name of the women. Noting that the cost of construction of houses under PMAY is several lakhs, the Prime Minister said that crores of women beneficiaries have now become millionaires. These crores of women have owned any property for the first time. He congratulated the ‘Lakhpati Didis’.&nbsp;
The Prime Minister said that the government is working keeping in mind the challenges of the future and the growing urbanization in the country. He mentioned that more than a thousand houses in Rajkot have been constructed using modern technology thereby consuming less time and money, and are equally safe. He informed that this experiment under the Light House Project has been carried out in 6 cities of the country where technology has helped in building cheaper and modern houses. He also assured that such houses are going to be available to the poor in the coming times. The Prime Minister also elaborated on the steps to remove the bad practices and cheating in the real estate sector that had caused a lot of hardships for poor and middle-class families. RERA Act has provided legal security to middle-class families for getting the promised facilities when purchasing a house. He also informed about the unprecedented budget subsidy for housing loans by middle-class families. In Gujarat, 5 lakh families got assistance worth 11 thousand crore. The Prime Minister said in the 25 years of Amrit Kaal specially tier-2 and tier-3 will give pace to the economy. He informed that systems in many cities of Gujarat are being upgraded as per the needs of the future. He informed that basic facilities are being spruced up in 500 cities under the AMRUT Mission. And 100 cities are getting smart facilities.&nbsp;
“Today, we are giving equal emphasis on Ease of Living and Quality of Life in urban planning”, the Prime Minister said. He underlined that the metro network in the country is being expanded with the idea that people do not have to spend a lot of time traveling from one place to another. Noting that the metro is running in 20 cities in the country, the Prime Minister informed that the metro network in the country grew 600 kilometers in the last 9 years from 250 kilometers before 2014. “Twin cities like Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar are also being connected by trains like Vande Bharat Express today, and the fleet of electric buses is also increasing in many cities of Gujarat.&nbsp;
Speaking about the lack of seriousness for tonnes of municipal waste generated in the country, the Prime Minister informed that waste processing in the country has increased from 14-15 percent in 2014 to 75 percent today. “If this had happened earlier, then mountains of garbage would not have been standing in our cities today”, Shri Modi said and pointed out that the Government is working on mission mode to eliminate the heaps of garbage in our cities. “Quality of life in our cities is possible only when we get a clean environment and pure air”, the Prime Minister said.&nbsp;
The Prime Minister lauded the water management and water supply model of Gujarat. He mentioned 3 thousand kilometer long water main lines and 1.25 lakh kilometer distribution lines taking water to 15 thousand villages and 250 urban areas. He praised the fervour for Amrit Sarovar in Gujarat.&nbsp;
Concluding the address, the Prime Minister urged everyone to maintain this pace of development. “Our resolutions of Amrit Kaal will be fulfilled with Sabka Prayas” Shri Modi concluded.&nbsp;

The projects whose foundation stone would be laid include bulk pipeline projects in Junagadh district, augmentation of water supply schemes in Gandhinagar district, construction of flyover bridges, new water distribution station, and various town planning roads among others. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of PMAY (rural and urban) projects, and participated in Gruh Pravesh of around 19,000 houses built under the scheme. He also handed over keys to beneficiaries of the scheme during the programme. The total outlay of these projects is around Rs 1950 crores.

New Delhi: At the G20 Health Ministers' Meeting, participants reached an agreement on the importance of providing low and middle income countries, as well as small island developing states, with equitable access to safe, quality-assured, and affordable vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics, and other medical countermeasures. All 25 paragraphs of the outcome document addressing the geopolitical situation in Ukraine were approved by all G20 delegations with the exception of paragraph 22, which deals with the chair's summary.
According to the document released after the 19th of August meeting in Gandhinagar, a consensus was reached on establishing a platform for making open-source and inter-operable digital solutions readily available, as well as establishing a research and development and manufacturing network for vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics. The health ministers also hope that by May 2024, negotiations in the intergovernmental negotiating body (INB) for a legally binding World Health Organisation convention, accord, or other international instrument on pandemic prevention, readiness, and response would have resulted in a positive resolution. According to reports, health ministers agreed to make climate-resilient health systems development a top priority in order to reduce vulnerability to the effects of climate change. They also pledged to work towards creating low-carbon/low greenhouse gas (GHG) emission health systems and healthcare supply chains that provide high-quality care.
By bolstering multi-sectoral governance, coordination, research and development, infection prevention and control, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), awareness of AMR, responsible use of antimicrobials, and preservation of existing therapeutics across human, animal, and plant sectors through antimicrobials, the G20 members committed to tackling AMR (antimicrobial resistance) comprehensively following the One Health approach. Gandhinagar: Prof Indranath Sengupta, a faculty member of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), is set to be honoured with the National Teachers' Award 2023 by the Ministry of Education.  The award will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu on September 5, coinciding with National Teachers' Day, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.  Prof Sengupta, expert in Mathematics, has pursued his teaching philosophy, striving to make education accessible to a wide range of students both within and beyond the classroom. With over two decades of teaching experience, he has guided numerous students on their educational paths, many of whom have since become esteemed faculty members in renowned institutions across India. He succinctly expresses his approach as, "I teach students how to ask good questions," and he dedicates considerable time to addressing student queries and helping them overcome academic challenges. Reflecting on the honor bestowed upon him, Prof Sengupta said, "I am profoundly honored. This prestigious award for faculty members in Higher Education Institutions will inspire more educators to embrace teaching alongside their research endeavours. Striking a balance between research and teaching is vital for nurturing the next generation of well-rounded academicians." With 13 years of faculty service at Jadavpur University, he then embarked on teaching engagements in the United States and Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Education and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur Math. Joining IITGN in 2014, he now heads the Department of Mathematics at the institute.

Gandhinagar: Four persons have been killed in Gujarat's Gandhinagar district after the car in which they were travelling plunged into a lake, an official said on Wednesday.
The accident happened on September 18, the police said, adding they suspect that the car driver might have misjudged the route due to darkness and waterlogging.
Five persons were present in the car when the accident took place. One of the occupants is still missing.
The police said that the car was returning from Rajasthan when it plunged into a lake near Dashela village, leading to the drowning of four of the five occupants.
"The car driver might have misjudged road conditions during the night and inadvertently drove the vehicle into the lake as the adjacent road was waterlogged due to rain," an official said.
All five individuals, in their late 20s and close friends, were returning from Rajasthan on September 18 night when the incident occurred.
They were en route to the Naroda area of Ahmedabad, with four hailing from Naroda and one, Gaurang Bhatt, was a resident of Dashela village.
The group had embarked on a holiday trip to Rajasthan a few days ago in a car.
The bodies of the four men were recovered from the lake near Dashela village in Gandhinagar district.
A search operation was initiated to locate the missing car occupant.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the country forward on the path of progress in the last two months.  Invoking the success of the Chandrayaan-3 Mission, Amit Shah said that India and the world showed their capability to the world by hoisting the tricolour on the Moon.&nbsp;
India took a giant leap as the Chandrayaan-3 lander module successfully landed on the moon's South Pole on August 23, making it the first country to have achieved the historic feat and bringing to an end the disappointment over the crash landing of the Chandrayaan-2, four years ago. "New Parliament, Chandrayaan-3, G20, Nari Shakti Act, these four works were completed by Narendra Bhai in the time span of three months which had never been done before," Shah said.  He further said, "Narendra Bhai inaugurated the new Parliament on Ganesh Chaturthi and also passed the Women's Reservation Bill under his leadership."  The Parliament on September 21, passed a historic legislation to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Lok Sabha passed the Bill on Wednesday in the Parliament's Special Session with 454 members voting in favour of the legislation and two against it. The Rajya Sabha passed the Women’s Reservation Bill unanimously with 214 members voting in support and none against. Shah also laid foundation stones and inaugurated projects of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (Auda). Shah laid the foundation stones for the renovation of the Okaf Lake in Sarkhej ward after performing bhoomi poojan.  Moreover, Shah will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development works worth over 1,600 crore rupees in his Lok Sabha constituency Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Home Minister will also inaugurate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research at Palaj in Gandhinagar.  Union Minister will inaugurate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research spread over 60 acres of land at Palaj in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat): Ahmedabad was infused with energy as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spearheaded a vibrant roadshow ahead of the impending Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, set to kick off in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.  The Prime Minister, currently in his home state to partake in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and associated engagements, warmly received the UAE President upon his arrival at the airport before embarking on the dynamic roadshow.  The welcoming committee, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and other dignitaries, greeted the UAE President, who was honored with a ceremonial guard of honor upon his arrival.  Ahmedabad residents turned out in substantial numbers to extend a warm welcome to PM Modi and the UAE President. Notable leaders like Timor Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta are also expected to grace the Vibrant Gujarat Summit with their presence.  The summit, inaugurated by the Prime Minister at Gandhinagar's Mahatma Mandir, will feature engagements with top global corporate leaders and an interactive session in GIFT City focused on the Global FinTech Leadership Forum.  The inception of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit dates back to 2003 under Modi's stewardship as the state's chief minister. This year's milestone tenth edition, themed 'Gateway to the Future,' commemorates "20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success."  With 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations, this year's summit will serve as a platform for the Ministry of Development of North-Eastern Region to spotlight investment opportunities in the North-Eastern regions.  An array of events, including seminars and conferences, will delve into globally pertinent subjects such as Industry 4.0, Technology and Innovation, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and the Transition towards Sustainability.  The Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show is showcasing companies' products fashioned through cutting-edge technology. E-mobility, Start-ups, MSMEs, Blue Economy, Green Energy, and Smart Infrastructure take center stage among the trade show's focus sectors.  PM Modi extended the invitation to the UAE President during their meeting on the sidelines of the COP-28 Summit on December 1 last year, paving the way for this significant rendezvous at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

Gandhinagar: Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT-GN) is organizing a Virtual Open House on 17th March 2024 to create awareness among students and working professionals about its e-Masters degree programme in Data Science for Decision Making.  A unique aspect of this programme is its flexibility for students to complete it both earlier or later than the scheduled two-year course period. Thus globally, there is a demand for skilled professionals who can turn raw data into meaningful insights and utilize that for greater benefits. IIT Gandhinagar is offering this e-Masters degree Programme to meet this growing need, and nurture skilled professionals who can take their interests to new heights.  Admissions are currently open for the inaugural batch of this programme, which will commence in May 2024. The last date to apply for the course is 5th April 2024. Interested candidates can register on the IIT-GN Postgraduate Admission Portal - https://admissions.iitgn.ac.in/pgadmission/login   Even while the course will be taught online, the class size has been restricted to 40 to ensure the faculty can pay attention to every single one of the students.  Highlighting the programme’s flexibility, Prof Amit Prashant, Dean (Research and Development), IIT Gandhinagar, said, “While this Degree programme is designed to be completed in two years, candidates can customise their timeline. Working professionals or full-time students can pace themselves by setting their schedules with the possibility of completing it in 1.5 years or extending it to around 2.5 years. Tailoring the timeline to individual needs will enable students to cope with the rigorous course structure that involves intensive assignments, practicals, and industry projects, all subject to regular evaluation.”  One of the programme's primary goals is to equip students with the core competencies needed to enter the workforce immediately upon completing the course. To provide students with the requisite industry-relevant experiences, the programme includes a mandatory yearly 2-week residency. During these residencies, students will participate in intensive workshops and seminars, immersing themselves in an active learning environment.  Speaking about the other e-Masters programme’s of IIT Gandhinagar, Ms. Girija Dave, an Industry Professional who is currently enrolled in the Institutes’ e-Masters Programme in Energy Policy and Regulation, said, “The IIT-GN e-Masters programme offers the opportunity to continuously learn, grow and reap benefits from the professionally designed curriculum and engage with Industry experts and peers / other personnel across the industry. The curriculum is curated using interdisciplinary approaches and designed to provide an in-person classroom experience virtually. The rigour necessitated to complete the assignments, and case studies and fulfill the industry-project requirements provided me with real-world experiences, enhancing my understanding and preparing me for the industry challenges ahead.”  The course blends theoretical knowledge with practical applications, catering to students from diverse academic and industry backgrounds. It offers 100 per cent synchronous learning, enabling direct real-time engagement with instructors and classmates. These aspects, combined with small instructional batches and continuous evaluation, ensure individual guidance, enhancing the overall learning experience.  Outlining the vision behind this programme, Prof Pratyush Dayal, Faculty in-charge, IITGN-X, the education outreach programme of IIT Gandhinagar, said, “The e-Masters degree programme is IITGN’s attempt to educate and equip individuals with the necessary skill set to navigate the increasingly complex digital world. One can push the boundaries of innovation and technology by leveraging data to augment business decisions and research methodologies. The programme envisions producing industry-competent graduates who can harness the power of data for decision-making to empower a new generation of leaders who drive positive change.”  Recognising the importance of connecting education with professional success, the programme emphasises the creation of placement opportunities for the enrolled students.
