Rishikesh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will leave on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand on Tuesday during which he will visit his native village Panchoor in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri Garhwal district and meet his mother and other close relatives. Adityanath's mother Savitri Devi, elder brother Manvendra and younger brother Mahendra live in Panchoor with their families. The Uttar Pradesh CM had last visited his native village in February 2017. He had not gone to his village even when his father Anand Singh Bisht had passed away. Adityanath will also inaugurate a tourist guest house in Haridwar built by Uttar Pradesh, on May 5. Uttarakhand's Education and Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that Yogi Adityanath will arrive in Uttarakhand on Tuesday and take part in a programme to be held at the Guru Gorakhnath Degree College in Bithyani village of Yamkeshwar on Wednesday.—IANS

Palghar:&nbsp;A 40-year-old mentally challenged man allegedly killed his father here in Maharashtra, police said on Sunday. The incident took place on Saturday at a field in Mokhada taluka of Palghar where the 70-year-old victim, Pandu Savji Molve, worked, the official from the police control room said. The exact reason behind the killing was not known.When the victim's wife reached the field with food, the accused, Kashinath, snatched an axe from his father's hand and allegedly attacked the latter with it. The victim died on the spot, the official said. Based on a complaint filed by the victim's wife, the police registered a case against their son under Indian Penal Code Section 302 (murder), he said, adding that the accused was not yet arrested. The body was sent to a government hospital for postmortem, he said.—PTI

Balkaur Singh, who took Moosewala and two others to a civil hospital on Sunday after the attack in Mansa district, said in his police complaint that his son would get threats to his life from gangsters for extortion. On Sunday, when he learnt that Moosewala had left home without his security guards or his bullet-proof vehicle, he went after him. The famous singer and Congress leader was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Sunday, a day after the Aam Aadmi Party-led state government brought down his security cover from four Punjab Police commandos to two.When Balkaur Singh reached Jawahar Ke village, he saw a Corolla car with four occupants trailing Moosewala's vehicle."After his son took a turn towards village Barnala, a Bolero vehicle with four youths stopped in front of his son's Thar," said the FIR. The occupants of the Corolla and Bolero started indiscriminate firing at his son, Balkaur Singh said, adding that the assailants later fled.He said many bullets hit his son. He took Moosewalla and the two other occupants to a civil hospital with the help of some locals but his son died, he added. Ballia:&nbsp;Dead bodies of a father-son duo were recovered from separate places in a village here on Tuesday, police said. The deceased were identified as Uma Shankar Singh (60) and his son Vikram Singh (26), they said. The villagers found Vikram dead in a well in Haldi area of Sonavani village with injury marks on his body, they said. When police reached his residence, his father, Uma Shankar was also found dead, they said. The bodies have been sent for the post-mortem examination and probe is on, police said.—PTI

According to police, the incident took place on Monday in Madhupur village under the Bhawarkol police station limits, when Satish Narayan Malviya (63), a farmer was, bringing down clothes from a wire. Seeing his father struggling, Ankit Malviya (28) rushed to rescue him. Both of them got seriously injured after being electrocuted, and were taken to the community health centre in Mohammadabad, where doctors declared them dead, police said.—PTI

Saharanpur: A 29-year-old man died and his father and another person were injured when they were attacked by some people in a village in the Sarsawa area here, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place on Tuesday in Gadarhedi village, they said. Deceased Monu, his father Sethpal and district panchayat member Rahul were attacked by a person identified as Varun and three-four other people, ASP Suraj Rai said. All of them were rushed to a hospital, where Monu, shot with a countrymade pistol, succumbed to injuries, he said. An FIR has been registered, and a manhunt is on to nab Varun, the police said. —PTI

Banda (UP): One of the two sisters, who consumed poison in Padri area under the Baberu police circle in Banda district, has died, while the condition of the other remains critical. The sisters, aged 21 and 19 years, had consumed poison on Tuesday and one of them died on way to hospital. According to police reports, investigations have revealed that the girls' father and uncle, who have criminal background, used to harass them after consuming liquor on a regular basis. Police have arrested the accused father by registering a case on the basis of a complaint from the girls' mother and are looking for their uncle, who is on the run. The father, Malkhan, and their uncle, who lived in Padri village of Baberu Kotwali, were earlier in jail on charges of murder. They were released on bail about a month ago. Additional superintendent of police (ASP), Laxmi Niwas Mishra said that on the complaint of girls' mother, Malkhan has been arrested. The police official said that Malkhan's four daughters and wife lived with him. On Tuesday, two of his four daughters -- Priyanka (21) and Sapna (19) allegedly consumed poison. After their condition worsened, their mother, Rekha admitted them both to a community health centre in Baberu. After the preliminary treatment, the doctors referred both to Rani Durgavati Medical College where Priyanka was declared dead on arrival. Sapna is under treatment.

Following his death, security has been beefed up in the communally sensitive Shivamogga. The funeral is scheduled to be held in Thirthahalli of this district, according to family sources. The authorities have produced him before a local court already in the backdrop of the development. Meanwhile, the police have stumbled upon many facts during the course of investigation of the two suspected terrorists. They believe that arrested suspected IS terrorists -- Maaz Munir and Syed Yasin -- along with Shariq, who is still absconding had visited Pakistan for training. The trio had managed to sneak into the borders of Pakistan for training. Shivamoga SP Lakshmi Prasad has stated that they are investigating further into the issue. As per the investigation officers, they have collected audio conversations of absconding suspected terrorist Shariq with ISIS leaders. They said that Shariq had established direct contact with IS terrorists and carried out their instructions. The conversations, they said, surround exploding bombs and the police teams have formed special teams to nab Shariq, who appears to be more dangerous and involved in big racket of brain washing and recruiting engineering graduates and other well-educated students to IS in India. Earlier investigations revealed that the trio was conspiring to wage a war against the Indian state and establish a caliphate here and bring sharia law. They had burnt Indian flags and maintained that India has to be liberated from the present form into an Islamic state. Further investigation is on.&nbsp;

At present, the provisional post-mortem report has come, in which the assault has been confirmed before death and the cause of death has been said as drowning. Ankita's family members have raised questions on the functioning of the government.
Ankita's father Virendra Bhandari has refused to perform the last rites of his daughter. He said, "The government has tampered with the evidence by running a bulldozer on resort at midnight. Ankita's last rites will be performed only when the final post-mortem report is received. I am not satisfied with the post-mortem report that has come at the moment. The culprits should be given capital punishment using fast track court in this case."
Family members alleged that the resort was vandalized to destroy the evidence. At the same time, the family has also raised questions on Ankita's post-mortem. They have again demanded a post-mortem.
Morover, the administration is trying to persuade the relatives of Ankita Bhandari to perform the last rites, because the family has refused to do so.

Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a farmer and his brother killed their father who was attempting to kill his ten-day-old granddaughter, police said on Friday.
The brothers have been arrested.
The incident took place in the Gosainganj area.
According to police, Ramesh Chandra Rawat, 50, was found dead in his house with his throat slit earlier this week.
His sons Avadhesh (29) and Rajneesh (25), who live in another house nearby, lodged an FIR alleging that Ramesh was killed by a local due to past enmity.
However, during investigation, police found blood stains at Avadesh’s house and started interrogating the family members.
Ramesh’s daughter Renu broke down and revealed that her brothers had killed their father.
Renu said that Ramesh was a habitual drinker and had a disliking towards girls. He was not happy with the birth of Avadhesh’s daughter and they fought regularly at home.
On the day of the incident, the father had a fight with his sons and he tried to kill the granddaughter by strangling her.
DCP South Zone, Rahul Raj, said that in a fit of rage, Avadhesh slit his father’s throat.&nbsp;

Chennai: Father of the 20-year-old Sathyapriya, who was killed after a stalker pushed her before a moving train at St. Thomas Mount Railway station in Chennai, died of a heart attack.
Manickam (56) died at a private hospital in Chennai late on Thursday night. He was hospitalised after he collapsed on learning about the death of his daughter.
Early this morning, police arrested Satheesh (23), who pushed Sathyapriya before a moving train on Thursday. He was absconding after committing the heinous crime and though the onlookers had tried to catch hold of him, he had managed to escape.
The victim's mother is a head constable of police at Adambakkam police station, Chennai. Sathyapriya was a degree student at Jain College, Chennai, and was going to attend her classes when suddenly Satheesh reached the spot and the duo entered into a heated argument leading to the stalker pushing her before the moving train that was heading towards Tambaram from Egmore.
Police at St Thomas Mount police station told IANS that Satheesh who was an eighth standard drop out was the son of a retired police sub-inspector and was stalking Sathyapriya for the past couple of years. Last week, she filed a complaint against him at the local police station.&nbsp;

UP: Father kills son for reconciling warring parents

Baghpat (The Hawk): In Shabka village, a UP Police constable is accused of killing his father after the latter refused to let him marry his girlfriend.
Inspector Nitin Pandey, the station officer at the Chhaprauli police station, announced that accused Gaurav Kumar, 25, who is currently stationed in Unnao, had been detained after confessing to the crime while under investigation. Following a complaint from his mother, a case has been filed against him under IPC section 304 (culpable homicide).
The situation came to light on October 17 when the constable's mother, Vimla Devi, reported her husband Sudesh Pal, 52, as missing after he failed to come home.
It was discovered during the initial investigation that the accused policeman had been away from his post for several months and had a disagreement with his father regarding getting married to his girlfriend.
After a heated argument, Gaurav Kumar hit his father over the head with an iron rod, killing him instantly. The body was then placed in a sack and dumped outside the village, in a field of sugarcane. Later, the victim's body was discovered, according to the police official.

Around 10 a.m., the incident took place in the Kannur district close to Karunvanchal. When Mathukutty and his son left the house in their automobile, it struck the well's side wall and rolled into the water.
The car was taken out before the firefighters arrived at the scene, which took some time.
