Ahmedabad:&nbsp;Some members of two different communities clashed over a minor issue in Kaalol town of Gujarat's Panchmahal district following which police detained seven people, an official said on Tuesday.The incident took place late Monday night and after being alerted, district Superintendent of Police Himanshu Solanki and other officials rushed to the spot and took control of the situation.It started when two persons dancing in a wedding procession picked up a fight over a minor issue, Solanki said."Both Hindus and Muslims live in the area and some members from these two communities were part of the wedding procession. After a verbal spat between two persons over some issue, a clash broke out between members of the two communities" the official said.Seven people were detained from the spot, Kaalol police sub-inspector M K Malaviya said."Members of both the communities indulged in stone-pelting. But, no one was injured in the incident. We rushed to the spot and dispersed the mob. Both the sides filed complaints against each other," he said.—PTI

The protest began near the All India Congress Committee (AICC) office, a senior police officer said. The detained leaders also include Members of the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Amrutha Guguloth got injured in the hand during the protest and was given first aid treatment, the officer said. Ahead of the protest, police issued an advisory saying the traffic movement will be affected in parts of Lutyens' Delhi on Friday. Guwahati (The Hawk): For alleged anomalies in the execution of de-siltation work in Guwahati, the Assam police detained at least eight people on Friday, including six engineers from the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and a former Assam civil service official, according to officials.
Along with the government representatives, the director of a private company that rented automobiles was also detained.
According to the authorities, this private company reportedly withdrew government funds and presented bills totaling crores of rupees using falsified documents.
It has also been claimed that the company sent GMC invoices that overstated the cost of the vehicles and equipment it supplied.
According to the police, GMC officers colluded with the company and failed to carry out official tasks in accordance with the standards outlined in the contract documents.
Police apprehended the eight suspects as a result of a complaint following an investigation by the Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell.

A police spokesman stated, "During a regular check, police apprehended them in Ambassa, Dhalai district, on Thursday night and brought them before a local court on Friday."
Rohingyas are frequently jailed in various northeastern states, as they frequently flee their camps in Jammu, India, and Bangladesh. They are travelling throughout various Indian states, primarily in quest of employment.

Kalaburagi, Karnataka (The Hawk): According to police, a 28-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of sexually abusing a 70-year-old woman in Kalaburagi district's Annuru village of Aland taluk.
The old woman's neighbour is the young man who was detained, Santhosh. The victim, a local of the town of Ladamuguli, had come to visit her grandchild.
Police claim that the woman was home alone when the alleged criminal Santhosh broke in and committed the crime.
When the granddaughter came home from work, she discovered the accused in the act of abusing the old woman. The district hospital has taken the victim on board.
Santhosh, the accused, was taken into custody by the police after she underwent medical testing.
There is an investigation going on.
Concerns have been sparked by the recent rape and murder of a young girl in the Aland Taluk. Within 24 hours of the incident, the police had solved the case and captured the suspected porn addict.

They have been identified as Adil Ghani Lone, Karamat-ul-lah Reshi, Suhail Bashir Ganai, Irshad Ahmed Kumar, and Karamulla Tral locals, respectively. Suhail Bashir Ganai and Adil Ghani Lone both reside in Chewa Uller Tral.
According to the police, explosive chemicals and other incriminating materials were found in their possession.
"During preliminary investigation, it was found that the arrested terrorist associates were in contact with LeT terrorist commander alias Babar alias Samama, resident of PoK," police said. "They were in a bid to hatch conspiracy to plant IED in Tral area with the intend to cause damage to police/security Forces."
Additionally, the terrorist associates who were apprehended were involved in providing weapons, ammunition, and other logistical support to the LeT's active terrorists.
Further inquiry has been initiated after a FIR was filed.

Gurugram (The Hawk): An Ahir community demonstration calling for the establishment of a "Ahir Regiment" in the Indian Army on Friday near the Kherki Daula toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway descended into violence when some protesters attempted to block the highway.
After the protesters threw stones at the workers, the police who were on the scene detained a number of them.
The protesters allegedly tried to forcefully block the national highway without getting permission, and the police had to use light force to scatter them.
The Gurugram Police diverted the Expressway due to the altercation, which caused traffic jams for commuters.
To check for suspicious vehicles, the Gurugram Police had barricades erected at a number of highway entry points, including Rajiv Chowk, Sohna Road, and Hero Honda Chowk.
According to traffic officials, the protest caused the Expressway's traffic to move slowly, and they have since implemented several measures to prevent congestion.
According to Subhash Boken, a spokesman for the Gurugram police, the police were keeping the public informed about the traffic conditions in that city via their official social media accounts.
In addition to this, a sizable crowd of protesters was gathered near the Kherki Daula toll plaza.
The Gurugram traffic police had also given commuters a warning about the congestion in the meantime.

On November 18, the police intervened to save the baby, who was then delivered to the child welfare committee (CWC) in Pilibhit, who in turn gave it to the specialised adoption agency (SAA) in the district of Badaun.
Achal Kumar, SHO, claims "A month ago, Priyanka, 28, and Monu Singh, 30, were married. At the time, she was nine months along with her first husband's child. Her mother-in-law Rani Devi, 55, told her that her daughter, who was born on November 18, was stillborn. Later, Monu and his mother abandoned the child because they did not want to take care of her."
On November 27, a FIR was filed in the case against two unidentified parties.
Pragati Gupta, a district probation officer, said: "We will present the mother of the child before the CWC so that she may claim the child now that she has been located. However, she will be asked to provide proof that she is the child's biological mother."

M.K. Stalin, the chief minister, has already asked the Ministry of External Affairs to get involved in getting the fishermen released.
The Sri Lankan Navy also has custody of the pricey mechanised fishing boats.
The Sri Lankan Navy detained fishermen from the Jagadapattinam coast in Tamil Nadu's Pudukkottai district when they fished close to the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
The Indian fishermen were allegedly arrested because the Sri Lankan Navy claimed they had entered their seas and were fishing there.
The Pudukottai Fishermen Association is protesting in the streets with women and children in tow, pleading with the state and federal governments to take quick action to secure the release of their comrades.
The fishermen have pleaded with the Ministry of External Affairs, the Government of India, and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to raise the issue with the Sri Lankan government and secure the release of the fishermen who are being held by the Sri Lankan Navy.
In an interview with IANS, R. Rajesh Kumar, a fisherman from Jagadapattinam, Pudukottai, stated, "We are losing money as a result of these arrests and detentions by the Sri Lankan navy. The expensive mechanised boats that the Navy seized later rusted in their care, making us accountable to the banks from which we had borrowed money to purchase these boats. The Indian government needs to take action and find a lasting solution to the problem that is making us anxious. Many people are on the edge of having a nervous breakdown, thus we implore Jaishankar, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and minister of state for external affairs, to take action for our cause.

Pinky Irani, a Mumbai resident who joined the inquiry at the EOW office today, was arrested in the Sukesh case as a result of having enough evidence against her, according to a senior police official.
Additionally, she was brought before the court, where a three-day remand to police custody was authorised.
"She is accused of reaching out to models and actors on Sukesh's behalf. They claim that she would ask them to call or meet Sukesh "According to a source, she also offered lavish presents to actresses on Sukesh's behalf.
The sources claim that Nikki Tamboli of "Big Boss" and "Bade Acche Lagte Hai" fame Sukesh introduced himself as a producer of the southern film industry when Chahat Khanna, Sophia Singh, and Arusha Patil first encountered him on the jail grounds.
"They had meetings with Sukesh thanks to Irani's assistance. All four of these women received pricey gifts from luxury labels like Gucci, Versace, and Louis Vuitton "the sources stated.
"Additionally, Sukesh sent over Rs 5.20 lakh into Patil's account, who has acknowledged meeting him elsewhere besides the jail. Irani allegedly gave the actress Rs 2 million and a blue Versace watch when she introduced Khanna to Sukesh "sources asserted.
Sukesh is also accused of depositing Rs 2 lakh into Singh's account and then giving her an LV bag. Later, she received an additional Rs. 1.5 lakh.
Sukesh provided Irani Rs 10 lakh in exchange for introducing him to Tamboli, and she gave Tamboli Rs 1.5 lakh. According to sources, Sukesh later gifted her a Gucci bag and Rs 2 lakh at their initial encounter.

Gandhinagar (The Hawk): In Surat, a BJP corporator was detained for breaking the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Late on Friday night, Sharad Patil was taken into custody and later freed on bail.
After casting his ballot in the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections on Thursday, Patil urged voters to support the BJP.
J. S. Rana, an election official, said in his complaint that Patil had broken the MCC in polling booth 176 of the Udhana constituency based on a video tape he had obtained.
In order to prosecute the corporator, Surat Police used section 130 of the People's Representative Act.
The BJP candidate for Kalol (Panchmahal district), Fatehsinh Chauhan, can be seen campaigning for himself in Boriya and Chata village at another video that has gone popular on social media.
According to AAP candidate Dinesh Baria from the Panchmahal area, "Chauhan is openly asking employees to do fake voting 1000 to 3000 votes without any concern."

Aligarh (The Hawk): Two Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students have been arrested for making "objectionable" comments while participating in a black day on December 6 to protest the Babri Masjid demolition.
Under IPC sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or beliefs), 298 (uttering words, etc. to wound religious feelings), and 505, a FIR has been filed against the two students and a few unnamed individuals (statements causing public mischief).
Following an investigation into the situation after a supposed video of the demonstration recently appeared, sub-inspector Azhar Hussain filed a report at the Civil Lines police station, according to the police.
"Some AMU students held a protest on the university campus and raised undesirable chants while carrying a poster with offensive remarks scrawled on it," said Aligarh ASP Kuldeep Singh Gunawat. The rally was held despite the district being subject to prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC.
Wasim Ali, the proctor for AMU, continued, "No authorization was given for any event on December 6, and there was no protest at the school. There has been no notification of any dark days. We learned about a small group of students who gathered on campus, shared some private feelings, and then dispersed. There is no connection to the university.

Be prepared to kill PM Modi, Pateriya purportedly said in a viral video while addressing a crowd. The words caused a significant uproar and led to political jabs between the Congress and the BJP, who are currently in power.
Being forced into a corner, Pateriya made an effort to provide explanations. He said that he had intended to remark that if people wanted to safeguard the constitution, they should "be ready to defeat PM Modi." On Monday, he was the subject of a FIR.
Pateriya stated in a video that following the response, "I am a Gandhian, and Gandhians are not allowed to discuss murder. Someone misread the video."
He added that the video wasn't complete, and I wanted to respond to it "People will need to band together if they want to overthrow Modi politically. The video, which is of my address from a while back at Powai tehsil of the Panna region, is being displayed incorrectly."
The reported remarks have also been denounced by Kamal Nath, the president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress and a former chief minister.
