Chennai (The Hawk): When two lorries and a little truck collided early on Wednesday morning near Madhuranthangam on the Tiruchi- Chennai highway, six people were killed.
The collision gravely injured five people.
Chandrashekhar (70), Damotharan (27), Sasikumar (34), Shekar (55), Ezhumamial (65), and Gokul were the deceased, according to the police (30).
After visiting the Karthigai Deppam festival at Thiruvannamalai, they were travelling back to Chennai when they were involved in an accident about four in the morning.
According to the authorities, the collision occurred when the mini truck drove into a truck that was travelling in front of it and another truck hit the tiny truck from behind. Six passengers in the mini truck perished instantly, while five others with significant injuries were taken to a hospital.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have launched a major search for a driver who fled with jewellery worth Rs 7 crore in gold and diamonds.
Srinivas, who worked as a driver for a woman who ran a jewellery business, escaped with a car full of gold and diamond jewellery on Friday from Madhuranagar, which is in the area of the SR Nagar police station.
Radhika, who was operating the business out of her Madhapur residence, filed a complaint with the police, and they opened an investigation.
Police claim that on Radhika's instruction, salesman Akshay and Srinivas (28) went to a customer's house in Madhuranagar to deliver an order. Srinivas was waiting in the car outside while Akshay went into the house to deliver the jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh. When the salesman came out, he found that both Srinivas and the car were gone. He had switched off his mobile phone.
Akshay yelled at Radhika, and she complained to the police about it. She said that the gold and diamond jewellery was supposed to be returned to Sirigiri Raj Gems and Jewellers at Banjara Hills.
The police lodged a complaint and began looking for the individual responsible for it.
The police were looking at CCTV footage to track down the car and find the suspect.—Inputs from Agencies

Mumbai: Actress Rasika Dugal, who is known for her work in 'Mirzapur' and 'Delhi Crime', has shared that veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is her guru. Rasika is an FTII alumni and was taught by Naseeruddin Shah at the institute.

The short film 'The Miniaturist of Junagadh' which sees Rasika and Naseeruddin Shah sharing the screen, recently clocked one year of its release and on the occasion, Rasika made the revelation.

Expressing gratitude Dugal said: "I am delighted by the warmth this beautiful short film has received through the year. It was a privilege to work alongside Naseer Saab, who was my teacher at FTII and has been a source of inspiration through all these years. This film holds a special place in my heart, and I am happy that it has reached a wider audience."

Directed by Kaushal Oza, who was junior to Dugal at FTII, 'The Miniaturist of Junagadh' is set against the backdrop of 1947, and revolves around a secret surrounding a captivating miniature collection that a family is determined to preserve.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rasika has the third season of 'Mirzapur' and 'Delhi Crime', the supernatural thriller 'Adhura', the sports drama series 'Spike', the black comedy thriller 'Lord Curzon Ki Haveli', 'Fairy Folk' and 'Little Thomas' in the pipeline. IANS
