    "Anticipated Move," Affirms Mallikarjun Kharge as Nitish Kumar Departs Mahagathbandhan

    Kalaburagi (Karnataka): After Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stepped down from his position today Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed that he had anticipated this move saying, "There are individuals in the country who are known for their frequent political switches."

    Kharge disclosed, "In the past we fought together. When I spoke to Lalu Ji and Tejashwi they also hinted that Nitish was planning to leave. If he wanted to stay he could have,. He chose otherwise. That's why we were already aware of this situation. However to preserve the unity of the India Alliance we refrained from making statements. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav had already informed us about this development. Today it has become a reality. There are people in the country who frequently switch political sides " remarked Kharge.

    Meanwhile Nitish Kumar, the president of Janata Dal (United) arrived at Raj Bhavan in Patna and submitted his resignation to Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Sunday.

    This development occurs amidst speculation that Nitish may rejoin the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) potentially bringing an end to the rule of 'Mahagathbandhan', in the state.
    The political landscape in the state is rapidly changing due to a social media post made by Rohini Acharya, daughter of CM and RJD leader Lalu Yadav. In her post she criticized the JD(U) party suggesting that their progressive image is inconsistent with their changing ideologies.

    In the midst of all the drama in Bihar there is currently a legislative party meeting taking place at the Bharatiya Janata Partys office in Patna.

    Recently RJD took out a full page advertisement in newspapers across the state. The advertisement focused on Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. Expressed gratitude for his various initiatives that have contributed to development. These include creating, over 400,000 government jobs and boosting tourism in the state.

    In the Bihar Assembly, which consists of 243 seats RJD holds 79 seats while BJP has 78 seats. JD(U) has 45 seats Congress has 19 seats, CPI (M L) has 12 seats, CPI(M) and CPI have 2 seats each. The Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) holds 4 seats while AIMIM and an Independent candidate each hold one seat.
