Rajasthan Police bust MD drug unit, arrest key accused carrying Rs 25,000 reward

Jaipur, April 1 (IANS) In a major crackdown on narcotics, the Rajasthan Police have arrested a key accused carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 in connection with an illegal MD drug manufacturing unit.

The accused, Dinesh Singh (28), had been absconding for nearly two and a half months.

Acting under the direction of SP Amit Kumar, a team from Sunel Police Station carried out the operation as part of an ongoing anti-drug campaign in the district.

According to the police, the case dates back to January 17, 2026, when a raid led by Bhawanimandi SHO Pramod Kumar uncovered an illegal MD drug factory in Amaliya Ka Kheda village under the Mishroli police station area. The unit had been disguised as a cattle shed.

During the raid, police seized 710 grams of liquid MD and 780 grams of wet MD, along with a large quantity of chemicals, manufacturing equipment, an Alto car, and a motorcycle allegedly used in the smuggling operation.

However, the main accused -- Gopal Singh, Narendra Singh, and Dinesh Singh -- managed to flee at the time, following which a reward of Rs 25,000 was announced for each of them.

Under the supervision of Additional SP Bhagchand Meena and Circle Officer (CO) Pidawa Pooja Nagar, a special team led by Sunel SHO Vishnu Singh was formed to trace the accused.

Acting on specific intelligence provided by Constable Rajesh, the team laid a trap, cordoned off the area, and apprehended Dinesh Singh from the Mishroli region.

The accused is currently being interrogated to trace the suspected interstate network linked to the drug manufacturing unit. Police are also investigating the supply chain and identifying other individuals involved in the racket.
