Seminar On Right To Information Act Held At AIIMS Rishikesh

Rishikesh (The Hawk): Chief Information Commissioner of the Government of India gave a detailed lecture on the specifics of Right to Information Act. This seminar was organized through video conferencing in AIIMS Rishikesh. In this seminar Prof Ravikant, Director AIIMS said that the Institute fully respects RTI and is ensuring its adherence on a priority basis.

The video conferencing was addressed by Chief Information Commissioner, Government of India Hon Bimal Julka. Hon Bimal Julka gave a detailed lecture on RTI law in this seminar. He elaborated on all the related subjects and their rules and regulations. He cited several decisions of the Hon Supreme Court in this context, under which circumstances information related to third parties is not applicable in RTI, and which information does not come under the purview of RTI. He said that the need is that we should dispose of pending cases within the stipulated timeframe using maximum information techniques.

Presiding over the seminar, Prof Ravi Kant told the Chief Information Commissioner that AIIMS is successfully disposing of all the applications received under the said law. He said that the Institute fully respects the Right to Information Act and is ensuring compliance of its rules and regulations on a priority basis.

On this occasion, Deputy Director Administration Anshuman Gupta, Dean Academic Prof Manoj Gupta, Dean Hospital Affairs Prof UB Mishra, Prof SK Handu, Prof Pratima Gupta, Dean Nursing Prof Suresh K Sharma, Prof Sriparna Basu, Dr Madhur Uniyal, Dr Navneet Kumar Batt, Dr Balram G Omar, Financial Advisor P K Mishra, Superintending Engineer Anurag Singh, Public Relations Officer Harish Mohan Thapliyal, Law Officer Pradeep Chandra Pandey, Registrar Rajiv Chaudhary, Dr Anubhav Agarwal, , Dr Bianram, Dr Ashi Chugh etc were present.
