MAD Appeals To Governor To Not Sign Ordinance On Ravine Settlements

Dehradun: Pained by the double speak of the Government of Uttarakhand on Rispana rejuvenation, Doon based student activist group Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD) has appealed to Uttarakhand Governor Dr. KK Paul to not accord his assent to the recent cabinet move to effectively quash High Court directions on encroachments on river beds.

Aghast by open Government surrender to vested political interests, MAD members warned all political parties that their pathetic politics is being watched by the silent but overwhelming majority of Doon valley which will teach these goons a lesson in upcoming polls.
To demolish the houses of map holders and to circumvent High Court directions for those who violated the law sends a horrible message to law abiding citizens.
MAD particularly deplored the role played by several current and former MLAs of Doon valley who the organisation has called the mothership of all problems facing Doon valley. The NGO warned that it will launch a mass student movement in Dehradun to press for strict interpretation of High Court directions.
