Dehradun: Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat reviewed the progress of Rishikesh-Karnprayag Railway Line Project at the CM Camp office on Wednesday. The CM Shri Trivendra directed the DM Pauri, Chamoli, Tehri and Rudraprayag to provide all types of administrative support to the Railways. He also directed to dispose the land and house compensation and other matters related to Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line at the earliest. Instructions were also given to establish a single window clearance system in each district related to railway project.
The CM directed the PWD to expedite the construction of Byasi-Narkota Road Bridge. He said that it will help the railways to move heavy machines. He also instructed the Electricity Department to provide electrical connections at the desired places by the railways at the earliest. He also instructed the railways to take care of the grandeur of all the stations on the railway route. He said that Local architecture should be used in the construction of railway stations. While giving information about the progress of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line project, officials of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited informed that the final location survey has been completed. Land acquisition for the project has been completed. Necessary forest clearance has also been obtained. Distribution of compensation for land acquisition is in progress. Geo-technical investigations for the entire project have been completed. Work of construction of one railway over bridge (ROB) on the Chandrabhaga River and one railway over bridge (ROB) and one railway under bridge (RUB) in Rishikesh had been awarded in February 2017. This will be completed by February 2020.
