Agartala : Coming down heavily on the BJP led government at the Centre, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today demanded immediate steps to curb on spiraling price rise of the essential commodities and consumer items. Addressing a party rally in Kumarghat yesterday alleged that the Modi led government is turning blind eye on the sky rocketing price hike leading to suffering of common people. There is a need the government to take immediate step to address the problem. About 40 per cent population of the country still kept out of the Food Security Act which is pushing the prices of essential commodities, he said, adding, "Currently, the Centre is proving only 5 kg rice to each individual in a ration card. This upper cap must be increased to 10 kg per individual under the Act." "Around 40/44 lakh posts remained vacant in various departments of the Central government but there is no move to fill up vacant posts. There is no far difference between Congress and BJP when it comes to filling up vacant posts in government departments", he alleged.
