The Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura to provide all out support for fulfilling the poll promises of the new government.
To begin with an urgent assistance of Rs 241 Cr has been promised by Union Rural Development Minister to boost rural economy of the state.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb told UNI that he had meeting with as many as six central ministers seeking assistance for development of the state and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely was positive to sanction special plan assistance (SPA) of Rs 350 Cr to meet the committed liabilities as recommended by NITI Aayog.
As agreed to the demand of setting up projects under Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Union Chemical and Fertilizers Minister responded well to ensure direct employment to about 5000 youths annually while the minister in Principle set up Plastic Park in Tripura.
Minister of Human Resource Development (MoHRD) assured an Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Tripura, Deb informed. During the meeting with Prime Minister, Chief Minister has also requested for setting up AIIMS like Institution in Tripura for creation of world-class specialty and super-specialty health facilities in the state which may prove to be of immense help to the people of Tripura and the neighbouring states as well as for the patients coming to eastern India from Bangladesh for treatment.
The Chief Minister held a detailed discussion with the Prime Minister on the matters like formation of Committee by State Government for implementation of 7th CPC in Tripura and other important issues mentioned in the Vision Document of BJP released by union finance minister Arun Jaitely before election.
The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister were accompanied by Chief Secretary and top officials of the state government who held meeting separately with the concerned secretaries of the ministries as follow up of the minister level meeting to formalize the commitments of the ministers.
