Sonu Nigam Courts Controversy By Likening Azaan To

New Delhi : Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam today stirred up controversy when, after being apparently woken by the morning 'azaan', compared it to 'cacophony', drawing a lot of flak on the social media.
In a series of posts on twitter, Sonu Nigam said, 'God bless everyone.
I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning.
When will this forced religiousness end in India And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam.
Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?'' He further questioned the use of loudspeakers during the prayer, labelling it "gundagardi".
''I don't believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity To wake up people who don't follow the religion .
Why then.
? Honest? True? Gundagardi hai bus.
,''the singer tweeted.

''Dear Sonu Nigam u forget u started ur career doing jagrata all night.
