Mumbai, Jan 26 (UNI) Shiv Sena today decided to contest all the Municipal and local bodies upcoming election alone in the state, breaking the 25-year-old alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing a mammoth rally at the Girgaom here this evening, Party Chief Uddhav Thackeray announced that the party would not be in alliance with any party. "Shiv Sena will fight all the election on its own," said Uddhav, adding that the party would of course get into alliance in future with the political parties.
Attacking on BJP, he said, "We have spoilt 25-years," he said adding that the party would not make any alliance for now. He further said, he did not not receive any proposal from any party.
Earlier, Mr Thackeray attacked on the Padma Vibhusan award received by the Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar. He said Guru Dakshina has been given to Pawar by Modi. Recently, Mr Modi had said that he used to take political guidance from Mr Pawar.
