Woman gang-raped, set on fire in Maharashtra

Latur: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped and set ablaze in Latur district, a senior police official said on Friday. Three persons have been arrested in connection with the incident, the police official said. In her complaint, the widow said that she had come out of her house late last night to answer the nature's call when she was dragged to a nearby field and gang-raped, the official said. The woman, who is a resident of Shivli village in Ausa tehsil, said that the assailants poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. She suffered burn injuries on her stomach and is undergoing treatment at the civil hospital at Latur. PTI
