Haridwar: Honour ceremony of child prodigy was organised by Rohan Foundation, Haridwar on 19 March 2018 in the auditorium of Rishikul Ayurvedic College, Mayapur Hardiwar. The chief guest in the programme was Mr Brahm Pal Saini, District Basic Education Officer. As special Guest, Mr Kishan Chand, DFO, Mr SP Verma, former Principal KVS and Director, VITD, Meerut., Mr Sant Ram, GM (QCA) BHEL, Mr Sheesh Rama, GM, BHEL and Mrs Brij Bala was present on the dias. The ceremony was chaired by former MP Mr Isham Singh. All the guests were welcomed by presenting the bouquets.

The programme was initiated by offering flowers to Goddess Saraswati and a small cultural programme by the students of different schools. Welcoming the chief guest and other guests, Mrs Reena Rani, President,Rohan Foundation briefed the objectives of the foundation. Mr Indraj Gautam, treasurer of Rohan Foundation said-"Rohan Foundation has been formed in the loving memory of Rohan Gautam who was a brilliant child. After schooling from KV BHEL Hardwar and St Mary School, he graduated from Delhi College of Engineering Delhi and did his MBA from IIM Kozhikode Kerla. Inspite of being a good swimmer, he drowned in river Gange on 13 March 2017.Rohan Foundation has been formed to help the needy children to fulfil their dreams by providing support and help in the form of books and scholarships." A video presentation on the life and achievements of Rohan Gautam was done by his sister.

Rohan Foundation organised its first Inter School Drawing Competition in which students of 30 schools took part. In the Honour Ceremony, first three students of each school were honoured by the chief gust and other special guests.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Mr Brahm Pal Saini said-"Honouring the talents of different schools is a welcome step taken up by Rohan Foundation. I am sure that in coming time Rohan Foundation will take more such steps. I pay my tribute to Mr Rohan Gautam."

On this occasion, Mr SP Verma, former Principal, KV BHEL Haridwar and Director, Vidya Institute of Training and Development, Meerut paid his tribute to his former student Rohan and said- "Mr Rohan Gautam was a brilliant student who left his footprints on the minds of so many people. He topped his school and at the young age, he got the admission in prestigious institutions like Delhi College of Engineering and IIM and completed the course there. Unfortunately, he met an accident and drowned in Ganges.He was a true example of strong determination and sincerity. Dreams are converted into reality by strong determination and hard work.Rohan Foundation will help those children who have a dream by providing help and support.It will be a real tribute to Rohan Gautam. I am happy to learn that students of 30 schools took part in the first competition and encouraging the children is a big task to motivate them."

Mr Sant Kumar, GM (QC) BHEL and Mr Sheesh Rama GM BHEL expressed their views. Children of different schools presented their cultural items and expressed their views.In Prize distribution and honour ceremony, all the guests presented the prizes to the winners.

Presenting the presidential address, Mr Isham Singh, Vice President, Rohan Foundation briefed about the upcoming events of the Foundation and thanked all schools and parents.
