PM cancels aerial survey for time being due to bad weather

Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived at the Naval Airbase here by a special flight on Saturday to conduct an aerial survey to assess the impact of the flood situation in the state, has cancelled his aerial survey for the time being owing to bad weather

The helicopter carrying Mr Modi, Kerala Governor Justice (Retd) P Sathasivam and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other officials, returned back to he airbase immediately after its taking off, following warning from the security officials that as the heavy rain is being continued it is not safe for coducting the aerial survey.
Though heavy rain lashed the city when the special flight carrying Prime Minister and officials touched the Naval Airbase, the Prime Minister and others, braving the rain, boarded an air force helicopter to conduct the aerial survey of the flood hit areas.
However, the bad weather and heavy rain forced the helicopter, carrying Mr Modi and others to return back to the naval airstrip.
The Prime Minister arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to assess the flood situation last night. He had a overnight stay at Raj Bhavan in the State Capital and arrived in the city this morning.
It was not yet confirmed, whether the Prime Minister has fully cancelled his aerial survey or not.
