Kolkata: West Bengal is a land of scenic beauty as well as rich cultural heritage, tourist flow to West Bengal, including that of foreign tourists, has increased significantly.

While on one hand, the State can boast providing tourist attractions such as mountains, wildlife, sea beaches and historical sites, on the other hand, in the field of entertainment, Bengal has been a front runner from cinema to theater, literature to philosophical works.
West Bengal is a unique state of India that is gifted with all tourism ingredients to address the need of all type of tourists.
With the Himalayan range on the north to Bay of Bengal in the south, lush green forest and wide range of historic evidence & Pilgrim destinations; West Bengal has varied option of tourism products to offer to its tourists.
From the majestic hills at Darjeeling, to the beauty of Dooars, the historic places at Burdhaman, Murshidabad, the temples of Bishnupur, the forests at Jangalmahal, the Ayodha hills at Purulia the vibrant city of Kolkata, the Royal Bengal Tiger of Sundarbans, the holy place of Gangasagar and the virgin beaches of Bay of Bengal, Bengal has it all.
Sundarbans and Darjeeling have been announced as UNESCO World Heritage site.
The West Bengal Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made developments in every sector in every districts of the State.
The chief minister has visited each district, chaired meetings across the State with the district officials from Darjeeling to Sundarbans to take stock of ongoing projects and plan newer ones.
