We are inspired from Hollywood but our stuntmen in India are daredevils and can match those standards well! Mumbai: Days after a deepfake video of him promoting political views went viral on social media, 'Padmaavat' actor Ranveer Singh has taken decisive action by lodging a complaint with Mumbai police against those responsible for its creation. Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the 'Padmaavat' actor fell prey to deepfake menace after his video surfaced online in which he was purportedly heard voicing his political views.
However, it turned out that the video was made using an artificial intelligence (AI) voice clone of the actor. The video, from the actor's recent visit to Varanasi, appears genuine but uses an AI-synthesized voice clone of Ranveer. Ranveer filed a complaint with Mumbai Police's Cyber Crime Cell, confirmed an official on Monday. His spokesperson issued a statement, confirming the filing of an FIR: "Yes, we have filed the police complaint, and an FIR has been lodged against the handle promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Mr. Ranveer Singh."

After the AI-generated video went viral on social media platforms, Ranveer took to his Instagram Story on Friday (April 19) and dropped a post in which he wrote, "Deepfake se bacho doston (Friends, beware of deepfakes)."  Previously, a deepfake video of actor Aamir Khan promoting a political party had gone viral. "We want to clarify that Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections," Aamir's spokesperson clarified in a statement. Many celebrities have expressed concerns about the misuse of deepfake technology. Last year, a morphed video of actor Rashmika Mandanna circulated online, prompting her to clarify its falseness.  Many celebrities came out in support of Rashmika including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who shared a tweet calling for the 'urgent need for a legal and regulatory framework to deal with deepfake in India.' Reacting to the tweet, the veteran actor, who worked with Rashmika in her first Hindi film Goodbye (2022), shared the video and wrote, "Yes, this is a strong case for legal."

Los Angeles: Fifteen people were injured when a tram crashed at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday night, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The Los Angeles County Fire Department posted on social media that it arrived at the theme park shortly after 9 p.m. in response to reports of an accident.
"A tram tour was in progress on the Universal Studios Hollywood back lot," the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. "The tram had just passed the Jurassic Park Cars and was making a turn to head northbound on Avenue M. Due to unknown reasons, while negotiating the turn onto Avenue M, the last car of the tram collided with a metal guardrail on the right side of the roadway causing it to tilt and eject multiple passengers from the tram."
"Fifteen passengers were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment and evaluations with minor to moderate injuries," the statement added. "The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factor in this crash," the statement further added.  Late Sunday afternoon, a Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson shared an updated statement: "Saturday night on the Studio Tour, a tram collided with a guard rail while making a left turn. Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor. We are working closely with public agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, as we continue our review of the incident and safety remains a top priority. We have resumed Studio Tour operations with a modified route and are reinforcing our operational and safety protocols." The Universal Studios tour ranks among the theme park's top attractions, offering visitors a one-hour backlot tour to explore behind the scenes where many iconic Hollywood films and television shows were created. Some of the famous movie sets included in the tour are Jaws and Jordan Peele's Nope.  Beginning next week, Universal Studios Hollywood will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the ride, known as the "World-Famous Studio Tour," following its launch in 1964.

Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the film also starred Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles. Reportedly, he will be next seen in director Vishnuvardhan's upcoming film 'The Bull'. Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has reached the spot for investigation," according to Mumbai police. The security has been beefed up outside the actor's residence, and a forensic team is also present at the spot. We brainstormed various projects, and during these discussions, the subject of Ramayana came up.
